Jean Nichols welcomes live and replay viewers, acknowledges that Mondays can be tough, and shares how she creates grounded space at the start of her week. Light, conversational warm-up before the main topic.
Jean introduces today's theme—limited vs. limitless—and explains the science of heart-center energy, noting that people energetically feel what we radiate before any words are spoken. This frames why mindset work starts in the heart, not just the head.
Jean shifts from concept to practice, reminding viewers that while the future is uncertain, the present moment is within our control. She invites each person to identify one seed of limitless possibility they can intentionally plant right now.
Jean recounts watching the indie film 'Radio Heart' at the Minneapolis Film Festival, where DJ Kevin Cole's old journals revealed a simple but powerful limitless commitment: write, read, and move for one hour each day. She uses the tree-and-roots analogy to show how small seeds, tended consistently, grow into something beautiful.
Jean reassures viewers that 'limitless' can be redefined to fit what feels right, then shares her own morning seeds: connecting with elderly regulars at a coffee shop, writing ideas, and sending heartfelt emails. She closes with a reflective challenge for viewers to plant seeds they'll be proud of now, tomorrow, and a year from now.
Jean wraps up the session with a brief, heartfelt goodbye, expressing gratitude for the viewers' presence and looking forward to connecting again soon.
Hello Monday. Hope you're having a great day. We're just having a day. I actually think that we might not always be having a great day, so starting off that way might feel a little disingenuous. Not intended. But if we haven't held space together before, my name is Jean Nichols and I am genuinely excited to be here. And it's Monday. Monday in Minneapolis. So I'm here just a little early, gonna hang out. I don't even have any dad jokes for us today, but I should try to find one. Because why not? We could all use a dad joke here and there.
I actually had a really good one recently. I'm gonna have to figure out if I can remember it. But Hey Luke, how you doing today? Happy Monday. We're here. I've been trying to find more dad jokes. So if you have any good dad jokes, maybe type it in the channel here. I had a really great one on cycling and I'm forgetting what it is right now. So I need to try to remember quickly what it is. But it's Monday and we have arrived. So whether you're here live like Luke or you're dialing in later on replay, I'm just glad you're here.
Mondays can be a lot, right? I do a lot on the weekends. I work a lot on the weekends, so I feel like Mondays I want to sleep in, restore, recover. I try not to schedule any meetings if I can before noon, and it's not because I'm sleeping till noon. Although that sounds like a good idea. It's mostly I'm just creating space in my day so that I can be really present, be really grounded, and create a break between what I did over the weekend and what I need to accomplish as I start a new week, actual week.
But today, limited versus limitless. I'm going to start a new theme. soon in May. So this is the last couple of weeks of this particular focus point. But what I wanted to discuss today was planting the seeds. So we're in spring. It's springtime here. And when I think about mindsets, mindsets are very powerful. So I'm going to share with you and maybe I've shared it before, but if you had an MRI done on your whole body and the purpose of it was to measure energy, your heart space would have the highest amount of megahertz energy than any other organ in your entire body, including our mind.
Now, we often think that we are ruled by our thoughts. And that might be true in some instances because we can lean in there, we can lean into that. But energetically speaking, we are really truly ruled from our heart center, our heart space. People can feel the energy that we're putting out from our heart center anywhere from one feet in front of us to five feet in front of us, depending on how much energy we're exuding. So I want you to think about that. You walk into an office or a coffee shop and maybe it's a meeting of some sort and you feel something.
You may not know what it is that you're feeling, but maybe all of a sudden you feel anxious for no reason. Your heart starts racing or maybe somebody's approaching you and you're like, a little too close to my personal space. and you find that you take a step back because there's something there. You don't know what it is. You don't have to know what it is. You just feel something. So I bring that up because we often lead with our mind. And when we think about limited versus limitless beliefs, if we're leading from our mind, limited in our heart could feel constrained.
limitless and our mind can feel possibility and our heart space might feel lighter. Now, we may not be able to control tomorrow. We're not there, that's the future. Or this evening, we're also not there. But what we can be in control of is this moment. So my invitation to you is, as a practice in this moment, what would be one seed that you could plant in this moment to invest energy into to allow it to grow that would feel limitless? And if you have an idea, type it in the chat. So for me, I went to a movie this weekend in Minneapolis.
We have the Minneapolis Film Festival. It's been happening for 45 years. It's 12 days of indie films. And last night I went to go see Radio Heart. And it's about a DJ named Kevin Cole who was from Minneapolis and then moved eventually out to Seattle. And it was surreal to watch this movie and to watch how this DJ moved through spaces in life. Now, what's interesting about him is he also shared vulnerably some of his story, his personal story, his personal battles in the movie around mental health and his own mental health, some addictions, and just a lifestyle shift that he had to go through mentally and emotionally.
But what was beautiful about this is he found a stack of old journals. He used to journal a lot and He found one thing. There are multiple pieces of the journals that I found inspiring, but one piece said, I'm going to write every day for one hour. I'm going to read every day for one hour. I'm going to move my body every day for one hour. And my goal is to do this indefinitely. Limitless mindset in his writing. about how he wanted to show up in life every single day. He planted one seed in his journal and those were his three things.
So if you think about planting a seed of something, it doesn't mean that he did that every day. There were days that didn't happen. But when we plant those seeds and we invest in them, We see the outcomes. We see, if I say with a tree analogy, maybe it's an apple tree. We see these beautiful big juicy apples. But an apple can't become its best self unless we till the soil, unless we feed the soil, the roots of that tree with nutrients. The beautiful apples, the beautiful flowers, it's cherry blossom season approaching soon in DC, for sure in Kyoto, Japan.
Those beautiful flowers can't become their most beautiful self unless we invest in the roots below. And if I take that analogy to us in our human self, right, leading from our heart, planting seeds in our mind of limitless possibility. And maybe limitless feels too big. That's cool. That's cool. What feels right to you? Maybe there's a different way. Maybe there is a different possibility available. So my invitation to you is to sit in that space to identify in this moment one seed that you can plant that helps you to feel more expansive in your heart and in your mind.
So for me, Jean, this morning, I took time to go to one of my favorite coffee shops. I met with my coffee shop crew It's a couple of 80 year old guys that meet for coffee every single day and I listen to their stories. For me, having the possibility of hearing their stories is the greatest gift to me because it reminds me that wherever I'm at today, at whatever point in the future, I can still connect with people, connect with myself, feel passion, feel purpose. So today after that coffee shop I went away and I just wrote.
I wrote down some ideas. I wrote down some to-dos, things that are aspirational to-dos. And I responded to a couple of emails that I've been putting off for a really long time because I knew those emails required me to just pay a little more heartfelt attention. So for me, planting those seeds was in my writing, was in my heartfelt response, and in a meaningful connection. So today, I ask you again, what seeds will you plant that will feel expansive today that maybe when you look at them tonight, Tomorrow, a week from now, a year from now, you'll feel how that expansion has shown up in yourself.
I hope you all have the most beautiful day. I love seeing you. I'll see you again soon.
