Hey, Hey, Friday people. Checking in Ms. Jean. I'm a mad dash. A mad dash. You can see. And it's a little windy, so I'm hoping. That the wind is it in too distracting? Crossing the street is probably more of a distraction. Hi, speak. Wonder how are you? So great to have you here. It's Friday. Can you hear me? Okay. Because the wind. Is a lot. And I'm almost to a space where it's less windy. Windy. Uh, so today, Friday afternoon, what's funny is I work with a lot of people. Myself included that work on the weekends.

Weekends. And they're always like, Jane, why are you so excited about Friday? You have to work that Saturday. And I'm like, yeah, I know. I know I get it. But also like, there's something beautiful about Friday, even if you have to work on the weekend and. Friday, maybe it's not today. Maybe your Friday is on a Tuesday. Because that's when you get a few days off. No I wish major was with me. I just left the cadre offices to get home. Fast because I have a Friday. Plat twist, which is my topic for today.

Uh, I'm also gonna try to find my keys cuz I'm. Racing around a little too fast. So on this beautiful Friday, if we haven't held space before. My name is Jean Mitchells and I wear a lot of hats. Hats, uh, one of the hats that I wear. Is teaching spin classes, indoor cycling classes. Another hat that I wear. Is a co-owner of an indoor cycling studio in uptown, Minneapolis. And sometimes those two hats. Hats intersect. And I can't find my keys. So. Here we are. We're right here. Uh, but today, my plot twist, we've experienced them.

And this is where. Taking a breath is gonna come in handy. I promise to tell him hello for you. Is sometimes we can have the best laid plans and. Let's be really honest for a second here. I'm not a planner. I get overwhelmed when there's too much stuff on my schedule or my calendar. And I'm a really great. In the moment person. I'm a really great when things are going wrong. And you need something solved. I'm that girl? Now, I guess that's me. That's my. Person. So when I have too many things planned and too many scheduled items.

It's really overwhelming for me, cuz I'm like spontaneity. I like space. I like to create space. So today on this Friday, I'm creating space for someone else. And why taking a breath on Friday, whatever date. It is for you and your weekday and why? I like Friday so much Friday's feel like a transition. As a child, do you remember? There's no school on Saturday and Sunday, and you could sleep in. And as you started your career. Depending on when you started. Or what it was Monday through Friday. Nine to five, seem to be the thing.

And so Fridays still feel. Like a transition day to me, they. Still feel like in time where I can take a pause and take a breath. And I've literally been speed walking for the last. 17 minutes to get to this moment right now where. I could come on here with all of you. And just breathe. And my plot twist is I had to leave something that was really filling my soul. To go do something else that also fuels my soul in a different way. But it was unplanned. I had a team member. That has a situation and the rest of our team members, nobody could help out.

So with that hat of. Co-owner and also instructor. That sometimes lands on me. And so I was thinking about it as I was walking. About what did it mean to take a deep breath today? And what I thought I was gonna say is very different than how this is going based on. 20 minutes of time. But when I think about taking a deep breath in this moment, it's. It's how might we create space in this moment? When everything around you seems to be flipping upside down. And the only thing that you can do is continue to move forward.

One step at a time. It doesn't mean that those steps are gonna be easy. Doesn't mean that those steps aren't uncomfortable. It doesn't mean that. Whatever emotion you have about having to take those steps. Is invalid. It's all valid. It it's it's valid when you have to plat twist. And it's uncomfortable and it takes you outta something. That's bringing you joy. It. It's valid to feel. Hurt or disappointed. When the plot twists. Is caused by someone else's circumstance. But here's what I also know.

I know that the person. On the other side. Of the story. Is having a panic attack. I know that they're super responsible. And when they have to ask for help, it's really hard. I know that they're the kindest person. And when anybody else raises their hand to need help, they are the first person to respond. And I know that they are. Literally having a panic right now that they are creating. An uproar for other people. In the last hour before they're supposed to go teach a class. And I know that they're super disappointed.

To not see the people that they thought they were gonna see in their class today. Because they made a special playlist for them. So while I might be. In a frenzy because my day got flipped upside down. I know that someone else on the other side of this story, is also flipping upside down. So when I think about taking a breath and what that means today, it's about resetting. It's a gift to be able to help someone out when they're in distress. It's a gift to for me to be able to go. Move my body in a way that is.

High energy and exciting, but also in community with people. So as I walked over here, to get to this point. Now I'm in my lobby. I have to go upstairs, grab clothes, get to my car, get. To the studio teach a class that I'm not prepared for, but I'll do. Cuz I can, cuz I've taught over 2000 classes. I thought it's just really important to take a pause. And just breathe. And reconsider that in this very moment. On the other end of this string that got pulled. Is another person who I'm asking the same thing.

I'm asking them to take a breath. To go outside to stand in some grass. Try to ground themselves because I know how upset they are. And at the same time, I'm standing on the other end of the string. Taking in a breath. To simply remember how lucky I am that I get to go do what I get to do. And then in this moment, someone needed help. And I got to be there for them. So whatever disruption or chaos. We get to feel that emotion when we're in it. Right. But that moment will change. And then we get to choose.

Do we carry that with us? Do he carry that anger and frustration and. Disappointment do he carry it with us? Or do we recognize that that was my emotion a few moments ago. And after a good walk and. Allowing myself to feel whatever I felt. That I could hit this moment with all of you. And just take a breath. And allow my mind to remember, allow my heart to remember. What's on the other end of this string that got pulled today. So maybe you've been in those situations, maybe you had that. Today as well, but it's Friday.

Does it make any of it better or worse? It just means that. Today's the day we intentionally take a breath as we transition. From one thing to the next. So I invite you. If you have a story to share, share it with me, I'd love to hear it. Most importantly, I invite you. To just remember to take a pause, create some space and breathe. Speak wonder it's a whale's tale. It's a crystal called thank you for noticing and asking. So I am going to. Tell you all that I love you. I'm gonna tell you all. That wherever you are at in this moment.

Just remember, it's a moment. And what comes next. We get to choose what to carry. And even if we choose to stay frustrated for a little bit longer, that's okay too, because that's what you needed. So I'm gonna go teach a spin class. I'm gonna change my clothes. And I'm gonna take a breath. And I promise I will see you soon.
