And welcome to the live there Cadre, Cadre spirits. Alex, host of the Mindset podcast of the Mind On My Mindset YouTube channel, helping you flex your mind, body and soul. And this is Wealth Wisdom Wednesdays. And sorry I'm a little bit late for this live, but I want to make sure again, like I mentioned, consistency just show up. Not every night's gonna be perfect, but I always shoot for making the live on time. And so last live Sunday Spark session, we talked about things to be grateful for before the end of the year because we're nearing the end of 2025 and near, and 2026 is on the horizon.

So going back to Wealth Wisdom Wednesdays, going back to talking about the financial side before the holidays and after the holidays. One thing that I've been, me and my wife, like both of our families have been doing the last couple years, which has been really beneficial for, but like budgeting, right? Talking about sticking to a budget for the holidays so you don't overspend because it can be really stressful, right? Because the commercialization of Christmas makes Christmas a lot less fun, right?

And it's stressful, but it shouldn't be. It's not what Christmas is about. It's about being together. It's about the experience of being together and eating and drinking together and the social component behind Christmas. Right? So I want to talk a little bit about that because I feel like there's a, there's this immense pressure because of commercials and TV and movies to buy more, have more, more things every single year. And it's just not sustainable. And frankly, it annihilates your bank account.

One, start off by saying, quick tip, personal finance tip for when you're shopping for the holidays, Set a limit and do Secret Santa. So number one, set a limit. Number two, do a Secret Santa. So you're only doing one family member from your, let's say, your side of the family and your, your partner side of the family. So you're not shopping for so many people because it's, it's just not realistic, in my opinion. And, and it puts an immense amount of pressure on, on financially, on people, you know, really, in one month out of the year, near the end of the year, it's just a lot, it's a lot of pressure.

It's a lot of anxiety and stress. And I don't, I don't like it. And I don't like that part of Christmas where it's just, but it's all about the gifts and everything. It's not about the gifts. It's about being together. So that's my suggestion. Secret Santa me and my wife have been doing the last couple years. It just makes things way more simple. You, you get assigned who you from one of your family members on either side and then you only shop for them and then you decide on a budget. For my mom's side, my mom and dad's side of the family, we did a $75 budget from my, my in law side of the family.

Like my wife's side of the family, we did $200 budget. So you fit the budget, whatever is comfortable for you. But don't overstretch yourself. Don't feel like you have to overstretch yourself because it's, you know, like times can be tough too for people and you don't need to go overboard with your spending it. Just because society and TV and commercials are telling us to overspend does not mean we need to overspend. I like to reject that idea because not sustainable, not realistic. Yeah. And it puts a lot of stress on you right when you're trying to enjoy yourself and relax and have fun during the holidays.

It's, it's a, it's, it's a time for pleasure, fun, enjoyment, relaxation. So hopefully you guys enjoy this live. This is just a few tips around the holidays. I know we're nearing the end of the year. It is December 3rd today and just a couple things. Food for thought for wealth was Wednesdays. Have a fabulous hump day your Wednesday. And stay tuned for wealth wisdom. Sorry for Sunday spark sessions this Sunday. Ciao.
