  1. 0:00Introduction to bliss blocking

Danielle introduces the concept of bliss blocking, explaining how people sabotage moments of happiness or success like jobs, relationships, moves, or simple enjoyable events. She frames bliss blocking as getting in one's own way when something desired is about to happen.

  2. 0:54Why it happens

She explains that bliss blocking stems from negative beliefs or 'lies' about ourselves—feeling unworthy or flawed—that once protected us. These beliefs make positive experiences feel unsafe, causing self-sabotage behaviors like not showing up or creating obstacles.

  3. 2:10Consequences and courage

Danielle notes that stepping into desired experiences requires courage to move past feelings of unworthiness and to allow growth and expansion. She encourages recognizing this as a barrier to receiving good things.

  4. 2:37Awareness and closing

She advises that recognizing unconscious bliss blocking is the first step toward shifting thoughts and actions, and invites viewers to ask questions.

Hello, my name is Danielle Jacodin and talking about now, why do we bliss block ourselves? Okay, what is bliss blocking? Typically it is, we get in our own way when something big is about to happen for you, like something that you've been wanting for a long time, working hard for, a job, a relationship, a move, a promotion, a child. even a conversation or even just enjoying like a good dinner out with a significant other of friends, right? We can bliss block ourselves because we have negative belief about something that typically stems maybe from like, I don't deserve this or our lie or a lie which we believe to be true.

I'm unworthy. I'm a mess. Something's wrong with me, right? Those little gremlins start creeping up. And the thing that's happening contradicts our lie about ourselves that we believe to be super true, but probably at one point saved us or we use it as protection to keep us safe through something. So almost if we get rid of that lie that we thought is true, we may not actually feel safe. So us by doing the thing that we actually want, doesn't feel right to us. So we yeah, also known as self sabotage, call it bliss blocking.

So then something happens, don't show up, have a make a fight, right? Pretend we're even like sick or even like create something that we are sick so we can't fulfill on the thing. It's so true. We bliss block ourselves because of a limiting belief that we've had up to some point in our life has kept us quote unquote safe because something happened and we believed that fear, that limiting belief to be true. So if we do something that's against that limiting belief that there's something wrong with me, I'm not good enough, we're at a battle with ourselves.

It takes courage actually to move forward, to step through that space of either not believing in self or feeling unworthy to continue to grow again, grow and expand and that you deserve all the amazing, beautiful things on this planet. So let's block ourselves. Why do we do that? Number one, you're keeping yourself safe, so applaud yourself, give yourself a pat on the back. Number two, it's typically an unconscious belief that we're unaware of as well. So we don't know that we're doing it. It's unconscious.

It's happening automatically anyways. So bliss blocking, let's not do that anymore. And also notice if you are doing it, that's number one is awareness. The awareness of it helps you shift the thought process and the action of doing that. So my name is Danielle, questions, please let me know.
