Take time to reflect and remember. Who were you back then? What did you love? What made you come alive? Maybe we need to get back to that?
Danielle Jokoden is a yoga teacher, yod creator and coach. She talks about reflecting back to who you are, who you were. Take some time to journal. Who are you? Who still you are now? And how can you bring that forward?
Hello, everyone. Danielle Jokoden here, coach, yoga, yoga creator, yoga teacher, yoga teacher, trainer. And talking about reflecting back to who, who you are, who you were. Because you still are that five year old. Between five and ten year old self. Like, what did you love to do? What made your, like, mind wander? Your eyes sparkle, your heart just flutter with joy. Take time to journal on that one, like, who? Or even look back at pictures or call your parents or ask friends or siblings, do you have a picture of me when I was five or six?
Seven. 8910. Look at that picture and look into the eyes of you and see you and say hi to you and write down, what did you love? Who were you? Who do you see yourself at that stage in your life? Because a lot of times who we actually are at our core is that between five and ten year old self. And we forget because of experiences, things that have happened, life, busyness, responsibilities, jobs, kids, bills, da da da da da. But we sometimes lose our essence, our spirit, our spark, and take some time to journal.
Who are you? Who still you are now? And how can you bring that forward? Like now? Like, when I was little, I wanted a horse, and I really wanted a horse, and I was trying to save some money until I realized, like, oh, that's a lot of money to get a horse. Like, I wanted to, like, not like, what can you, like, get a horse but then have house it somewhere else, right? I really wanted to have the house, like, in my backyard. My mom had land and space and my mom and dad. But I thought, oh, or maybe somebody said something to me too, like, oh, that's a lot of money, or that's a lot of work.
And I allowed it to get squashed. Like, I started saving, but maybe somebody said something and my dreams got squashed and I never tried. I didn't even, like, go for horseback riding lessons or anything like that, which I wish I did if I played basketball instead. But why I share this is I really still love horses. And I still feel that, like, I'm supposed to have a horse or, like, live on a farm or something. That's a deep desire, and so I'm still gonna put that out there. I'm not gonna squash it.
Someday, not someday I'm gonna own a horse. I'm gonna have a horse. So it just feels. It just feels right. So take some time, journal. Like, who were you at age five? You know that journal something. Go all the way to ten, maybe get some pictures and put them up in your mirror or something in your bedroom and just look at yourself and see yourself again and say, hi, you are loved. Tell me more about yourself and, like, tell me, how can I take care of you? Or how can we play today? Like, oh, my gosh, right?
How many kids ask, can you play with me? Can you play with me? And invite that for yourself? Like, how can we play today? How beautiful is that one? So go back to your essence, go back to your spirit, go back to your truth and see what can come alive in the here and now for you today. My name is Danielle. Questions? Comments? Let me know again. I'm a yoga teacher, yod creator and coach. Have a blessed day.
