  1. 0:00Danielle Jokonen is a yoga teacher and a life coach

Danielle Jokonen is a yoga teacher, creator of yad yoga, and a spiritual and life coach and a shaman. She says the three tools that really help breakthroughs is movement. Meeting people where they're at and not forcing at all can actually trigger trauma.

Hello, my name is Danielle Jokonen, and I am a yoga teacher, creator of yad yoga, and a spiritual and life coach and a shaman. And I am here to talk about what have I learned about coaching others and. Okay, so the separation between coaching and therapy is the biggest thing with coaching that I focus on is just keeping conversation open and inquiry open and question and discovery open for the. The client to discover what's best for them, for themselves, by themselves. It's not me telling them what to do, giving them advice or just saying just do this, or keeping them stuck also where they are.

Oh, my gosh. I am so passionate about making sure people are feeling empowered, seeing what's possible them, and having a breakthrough, like, I do this through. It's like something that's just like, blows your mind that you want to have access to before the session, seeing something that you have never seen before, then being able to take aligned action on that and follow through in your life after that coaching session. I've coached people now for ten years, and it's been through yoga. It's just.

Just been through sitting down and conversation and coaching. But I believe in the three tools that really help breakthroughs is movement. And I love the yoga Asana movement inquiry. Being in conversation, like a coaching session and then meditation, allowing you to still your mind. So again, you get access to your body, you get present to your thoughts, to get access to your heart and really listen to your heart. And in the heart space, is that true? Inner knowing and your desires. What I've learned is, number one, people need to be open and open to being coached and being able to hear feedback and take feedback and being open to, hmm, let me consider something else.

Let me hear that and see how that lands for me. So, really being open, and the second part is really meeting people where they're at, because a lot of times in life, we, me, you, all of us can get really stuck where we are. And it's not bad because a lot of times we are stuck where we are, typically from a traumatic event, whether it be, you know, we broke a crayon when we were five and the teacher got upset. But that could have been a very traumatic experience for us at that time, or it could have been like we lost a parent when we were five years old and another traumatic experience.

Right? But we're living out that, that experience when we're in our twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, because we typically don't want that to happen again. We don't want it to relive that experience. So what our body does is really a beautiful thing, is to almost protect ourselves, to not experience that again. So it's like, thank you. And I'm still living out a fragmented space. I'm not fully living from alignment. And so it, so it's meeting people where they're at. If they're stuck from that trauma experience, whether it be 512, 15, you know, even in your adult years, you can have a traumatic experience, and then we fragment to make it through, and then we keep playing that out again in our life.

So really, really meeting people where they're at and not forcing at all, because it can actually re trigger trauma and number one, making them feel safe. So that's huge, because in that space of safety, then there is a capacity to see something new, to open the eyes, to open the heart, to soften, then to lean in and consider, oh, I am okay, or I don't have to live that, that story out anymore, that tape that I've been playing. So as a coach, it's really important to meet people where they are. Acknowledge that.

I get that that's where you're at right now. And it's okay that there's nothing wrong with you. Number one, making people feel safe, making people feel that there's nothing wrong at all. And that when you can see that stuckness, it's actually like a blessing. Like, awesome. Like, acknowledge and celebrate that. So being open minded, letting that person be open minded, inviting them to be open minded, noticing wherever they are, meeting them where they're at, accepting that, oh, yeah, I'm stuck right here.

That's okay. There's nothing wrong with you. And then the third part is, transformation can happen in a second. When I coach people, it can happen in a second. And the other part of it, it can take years for something to really finally shift. So trusting the process on that timing as well, and honoring it, too. So, coaching, see if it's right for you. Eye, hands down, absolutely love it, swear by it. So if you're interested in coaching, find something that really works for you, where you can feel open minded, that you can feel safe and rub up against resistance, an area of stuckness.

And honor the journey, whether it be a transformation that happens in a second or like it's taking some time, honor that and know that it can shift for you to your highest good and see how coaching can really support your life. Because it's supported my life. Again, my name is Danielle. Questions on coaching? Let me know. Please reach out and have a blessed rest of your day.
