Foreign at 6:29pm Pacific. I'm one minute early. Why presence is the real flex in 2025. This is wealth Wisdom Wednesdays. This is your host, Alex Muir, host of the Mindset podcast, fellow content creator of my mindset YouTube channel, mindset tik Tok channel, and then also again my brand mindset. Help me flex your mind, body and soul. Emily8770 welcome to LIVE. Thanks for tuning in. So I wanted to, because of August's core theme again, about being present, savoring special moments, being in the now, in the here and the now.

Rose612, welcome live. Thanks for tuning in. It is so important to listen to our minds and to listen to our bodies. Hey, Rose, welcome or sorry. Yeah, Rose, six call. Yeah, thanks for tuning in. And it's got me thinking. So I just recovered from a bad, bad bout of food poisoning two weeks ago. And, you know, sometimes we go too hard and sometimes our body breaks before our mind does. So my mind didn't feel broken, but my body did because I, because I, I tend to push things to my absolute limit. I like to stretch.

I really like to stretch my limits because being in a state of comfort doesn't create growth. Being in a state, being in a state of discomfort, that creates growth. And yes, it can be uncomfortable, but if we are always comfortable, feel too relaxed, there's not, you know, a little bit of stress in there. Stress is good in calculated doses and like a little bit, right? Like putting a little bit of stress on the body when we train, putting a little bit of stress on the mind when we're doing something hard or it's taking us longer to figure out or we're problem solving or we're using our critical thinking.

Those things are good. Those things we want to keep going, right? But sometimes we overdo it and sometimes we're recovering, right? We gotta, we gotta. Okay, boom. For me, I, I had to slow down. I had to slow things down. So I had to listen to my body. I had to listen to my mind. What's my body telling me? My body's telling me I need to dial things back. I need to slow down. And that's totally okay. Some, sometimes you do need to slow down, but sometimes you can speed up because your body and your mind are like, congruent and you're able to do a little bit more.

But I want to preface this by saying the whole hustle culture thing and all that, more doesn't always equate to better. It's about listening to your own body and your own mind. And over time you will figure out how you get calibrated or if you need recalibration or R and R, like rest, additional rest and rejuvenation to look and feel your best and operate at your best. So some days are you're going to feel at 20%. Some days are going to feel like 60%. Some days you're going to feel 120%, 100%, 105%.

But not every day you're going to feel 100%. And I like Luke's lives that he's been doing. Luke Linlit talking about that, talking about sometimes, you know, wins a win. Whether you learn something from the day or mistakes were made or. And I really want to do another live or another video showing. Like I like to doodle sometimes. I'm not an artist, but I like to doodle. Just to help illustrate to you how messy success really is. Because it's not like this at all. Like we think. We think it's like this.

It's just a straight linear line all the way up with hardly a lot of hiccups. But what it actually is is it's like, like scribbles everywhere. Like maybe we're doing go boom. And then it peaks and then it drops and then it peaks and then it levels off and then it goes down and then it goes back up again. It's just like continuous. It's like. I like to use the soccer goalie analogy. The net. The soccer net. Or European football if you're, if you're from Europe. Because European football is like they.

That's considered soccer, right? North American soccer for us in North America, how they talk about like the goals always, like how life can feel. Like the goal is always moving. Like the net is always moving potentially, you know, side to side, away from us, further away, further away from us. Sometimes a little closer than. Oh, just kidding. No, moving back. So with all that said, having presence, having focus, real football. Yeah, exactly. Having presence, being in the here in the now, that's the real flex.

Being able to kind of dial things back, recalibrate when things are chaotic. Today was a bit of a chaotic day, but I was still able to navigate the pressure. I was feeling the pressure. I was feeling the stress today, but I, I was able to navigate it. And I'm reading David Goggins book right now. Can't hurt me. He's a guy that went through a ton of trauma but came out on the other side of it. Like he says. I posted a video the other day or this morning about a callous mind, how we get calloused hands from training, right?

Our hands get all worn, torn, but that's from our body adapting to additional resistance on it, to additional hardship, to additional reps or weight, or our body's trying to adapt to that. So the mind is similar. The mind can become a callous mind, a catalyst mind, where it's getting more gray matter. We're building more creativity, we're building our problem solving, our critical thinking muscles more. The mind is a muscle just like the body. The mind needs to be trained just like differently than the body, but it needs to be trained like the body, daily.

And when we do that, when we have hardships, when we have things that feel like they absolutely broke us or break us down, we're actually like when our muscles get broken down in training, we're breaking down the brain in a way to come back stronger, to come back more resilient, more able to handle turbulence, chaos, and be more Zen among the chaos, if that makes sense. So I hopefully you guys all enjoyed this live. Let me know in the comments if you're someone that's looking to build more mental resilience.

With everything going on. There's so much noise, there's so much distractions. And what people crave more than anything now is presence, is moments, moment to moments where they're just looking at the flowers, looking at your beautiful garden, right? You're not thinking about work, you're not thinking about relationships, you're not thinking about friendships. Sometimes you just need a moment for you to just relax. Despite all the noise, despite whatever it's going on, there's always a hundred things going on.

And I totally get it. And me, I still get caught up in it. I still have moments where I'm like, my wife and me chat and she's like, oh my God, Alex, you're not here right now. And I'm like, you know what? You're right. I need to take a second recalibrate and for myself. I bet you a few of you can relate to this Cadre fan. Sometimes we need to add in more pleasure, we need to add in more fun into our schedule. And I had to talk to my therapist and she's listening to me and then she's like, alex, when's the last time you had some fun?

When's the last time that you just did stuff without any goal or any in anything attached to it? Any? Like, because I'm always, I'm obsessed with growth. I'm obsessed with Getting better self improvements, personal development, you know, being a positive person, uplifting others. And sometimes that can get wearing on you because you're doing it 24 7. Right? Because it's an obsession, right? So sometimes we need to just have fun. So if. Word of advice, Cadre fam. Sprinkle in throughout the week, throughout your days, one additional activity for you that you like to do and hobby.

Me, my wife just got it back into reading. Feels so good to just sit down and read a book and get lost in that book. And, and she's been reading like a new series. It's a series of books and, and I'm like, I'm so proud of her because to sit down and read a book nowadays, it can be really challenging. But the mind is a muscle, just like the body, just like our, just like our biceps, just like our, our triceps, our chest. It can be trained. The mind can be trained, just like the body can be trained.

So food for thought. Hopefully guys all enjoyed this live. I typically talk about on wealth Wisdom Wednesdays, more money focused. But presence is super critical nowadays and everyone wants to be more present and be there for their loved ones, their friends, their family, their spouses, their partners in a. More Intentional. Yeah, intentional is the word. Be more intentional with their time being more intentional with being there for, for, for everyone, but also for yourself. Because then when you're more relaxed, when you're, when you're adding in fun more, you help show up better.

So thank you all for tuning into this live. Cadre Fam. Anyone that's new here, welcome. My name is Alex Meer. I'm the host of the Mindset podcast. I usually do bi weekly or monthly podcast interviews with some of the greatest thought leaders, greatest minds that I've connected with. I do mind, body and soul optimization content on my YouTube channel, mind-sep on TikTok mine, SEP and those are my two platforms.
