Hey, good morning, Cadre. How are you doing? It is Sunday. Whoo. July 13th in the year 2025. How are you? I hope in a world where maybe surely in the west, we've gotten a little afraid to say how are you? Sure enough, nice to see you, my friend. Because often enough people say how are you? As a greeting rather than a question. But hopefully when you hear how are you in the Cadre sphere, you know, we're asking because we're curious, because we care, because we're doing this thing together. And if you go, what thing are we doing together?

Cadre? Special group of people. The special intention. And that special intention is showing the world that there's lots of different ways to navigate life in the hopes that sooner or later we may feel a little bit better. Good morning, Jules. So yeah, that's the thing we're doing together here. I'm jc I am here every day unless. Unless something happens. But it's pretty cool that somehow life allows me to be right here pretty often. I'm appreciative of that. I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here.

I know what I know and I care about you. Sundays is often a day when a lot of self care conversations jump into the live stream. And in July's overarching theme of freedom, maybe, you know, you're thinking about what, what would it feel like to be free from kind of the discomfort of taking time for yourself or, or the shame or the anxiety of. Of not doing when maybe you're used to doing or vice versa. But this idea of taking care of yourself is, is one that we don't realize how important it is until we realize how important it is.

Right. When you get to the place where we go, I can't do it anymore or I don't have anything left to give. That's the moment just beyond the opportunity to maybe change the game or fill the tank or shift directions. Sundays I talk about this idea of thin space. There's only one moment that we can really take care of ourselves in, and that is the moment that we're in right now. And so how do we find that space in between everything that has been and everything that will be? The past is quite loud as we kind of unpack what has been.

The future is kind of loud within the anticipation and the aspiration of all that can be. Wendy Lou 16711 who how are you, my friend? But it's in that space in between, that thin space in between where we can nuzzle into doing something good, something nourishing, something on purpose. So to nuzzle into that space today, I'm going to bring up this idea of anticipatory grief. Okay, fine. We're going there. So I'm a rescue dog. Dad got three little ones at home. Willow is going to be turning three next week.

Jefferson is moving towards seven years old this fall. And then Hamilton, baby doll will be 11 this fall, and he's not doing that great. He's got Cushing's disease, which makes your belly just blow up like a balloon. Makes you not be able to breathe that well. He's got a lump on his leg, and now he's got a lump on his. Outside of his belly. You can just tell. He's like, he's. He's doing his best, and he's actually finding some big moments of joy because I think he knows that you need to find those when you're not feeling that great.

But I'll tell you, before I left this morning to head to work, our. Our bedroom is the upstairs of a. Of a little bungalow house. So in the morning, you know, the dogs come down, they go outside through the doggy door, they do morning treats, and then they head back upstairs, go to bed. And Jefferson and Willow had already gone upstairs. And then Hamilton hung around for one more moment. I'm like, all right, go back to bed. Then you see him. He still figures out how to get up the stairs, kind of.

But I watched him climb the stairs and then slow to go, but he made it. Then when he got to the top, I was just waiting for him to, like, stop and look back down, and he didn't. He just waddled around the corner. I went to bed before that. He was drinking some water, because when you got Cushing's disease, you just drink a lot of water. And I'm, like, trying to, like, remember these moments, trying to go, okay, don't forget them. And that's where the thin space came in. I was already trying to put the moments that were happening into the past into, like, a memory bank, as opposed to being in that moment.

We can only be in the moments that we're in, which is why grief is such a real piece of evidence of our life. Right? Grief is the evidence of us doing. Doing life and loving people and things and. And our pets and our animals and our passions. And once they're gone, they're gone. They are. It doesn't mean that the memories don't have power, but I think so often we try to make moments last when they are naturally going to expire without actually being in the moment before it ends. So Hamilton is my constant reminder right now of being in that thin space, because our pets never last that long.

Neither do we. Your invitation today is when you find yourself being in a moment where you go, wow, I want to remember this moment. You'll remember it. Don't miss the moment because you're trying to remember it when it's happening. Experience the moments that you're in and then experience the next one. It's the magic of thin space, y'. All. Good morning, Nikki. Nice to see you, my friend. Got to say good morning. Just as we are wrapping on up, I am going to be jumping in the Cadre sphere a second time today, but it will be with my, my brother, Pastor Seth, Seth Perry, who does wonderful things unpacking stigma.

I'll be driving. I'm in St. Michael right now, which is way, way, way, way west in the Twin Cities. And I'll be heading to the Capitol, Minnesota, St. Paul, way, way, way east later this afternoon. So I'm getting my miles into the y'. All. But we will be jumping on, I think 3:00pm Central Standard Time this afternoon. But I'm always glad, anytime I get the opportunity to bop in here to spend time with you. So thank you for spending time. Always remember, I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you are here.

I know what I know and I care about you. Y' all have a good one. One.
