Well, hey there. You don't have to adjust your cameras. It's just really early and you're getting a little. backlight from the car.
Livestream for Cadre Today. Today, the last Monday of October. We are glad that you're here. We know some things and we care about you. On Mondays, we think about what we do with our lives. How do we develop the skills to do the things that we do?
A lot of talk about creative aging and how doing creative things in our older years is really good for our health. Creativity invites us to start from the place of confidence, clarity, and joy before we do the little nitty gritties.
The last thing that creative aging does for us is it brings us around people that we would otherwise not be around. Whether you're 5 or 50 or 100, find some time to be creative today. It'll benefit you, it'll benefit the people around you, and it will benefit this whole world.
All. You hopping on for a live stream this morning? I hope so. Craig will invite you to see your potential, your capacity to move in a direction of being a little bit better than you have been. We'll see you soon.
Well, hey there. Good morning, Cadre. You don't have to adjust your cameras. It's just really early and you're getting a little. A little backlight from the car. Livestream for Cadre Today. Today, the last Monday of October. I simply remember, like, it was a moment ago that it was the first Sunday of October, and here we are. But, you know, it's another Monday. You're here in the Cadre sphere, and we are glad that you're here. We're glad that we are here. We know the things that we know and we care about you.
There it is. That's how we start this every, every, every single day with that reminder that we're glad we're here, we're glad you're here. We know some things and we care about you. Now, a cool thing is I invite you to say those same things back. Okay, I go, then you go. I'm glad that I'm here. I'm glad that you're here. I know what I know and I care about you. The beautiful thing that happens here is it's not us being the ones who know stuff, and you're the one who doesn't. We all know things.
We all have unique experiences that when we put them together, we create this community with many resources to show the world that there's many ways to be well, knowing that when we take time like this, we innately journey towards feeling better. That's what we're doing here. Hey, my name is JC if we've never shared time and space together before, thank you for the opportunity to spend some time with you. Right now on Mondays, as we kick off another week, a lot of people are thinking about what they do with their lives, right?
Their work, how they bring home the bacon, bring home the bread, all the things. So funny. First I said bacon, and I'm like, ah, but what about our vegan and our vegetarian friends? So when I said bread, but now I'm thinking about our gluten intolerant friends. So whatever you bring home often on Mondays is the day we think about those things. How do we develop the skills to do the things that we do? I want to spend a moment talking about this idea of where creativity plays within our progression and our power.
Because if you've been around this world recently, you hear a lot of talk about creative aging and how doing creative things in our older years is really good for our health. Whenever something gets really loud in culture, I always go, huh? Okay, let's break that apart. Why do we use a term like Creative aging. For such a small, segmented group of people being older individuals, I'll say creative aging is a really good idea. Whether you're 5 years old, 50 years old, 100 years old, it never loses its power to do creative things.
And here's a little bit why. Engaging in creative activity removes you from the idea that you need to know the right way or know the best way to do something in order to do it. Well, you know, I spend a lot of time encouraging and supporting people within their creative endeavors. As a musician, as a director, as a storyteller, I spend a lot of time helping people do creative things. The number one thing I shout out more than anything else is it's all made up so you can't do it wrong. Because if you're telling yourself you're doing it wrong, you're the one who told yourself what you're doing in the first place.
So tell yourself to do something else. Creativity liberates you from the idea of what is right and what is wrong and opens you up to really beautiful things like uniqueness and potential and personality. Number two, Creativity invites us to start from the place of confidence, clarity, and joy before we do the little nitty gritties. Right? You know, so if in music I always say this, Be confident, clear and joyful before you get the notes, words, and rhythms right. Why? Because then the notes, words, and rhythms will become right sooner.
And when the notes, words, and rhythms are right, if you're already being confident, clear, and joyful, you don't have to work on those three things. You're already clear and confident and joyful. You just have to wait for the notes, words, and rhythms to come into play. All six of those things make music beautiful. Why wait to be confident and clear and joyful when you can do that out of the gate as you wait and do the work to bring the other things into place? Good morning. One percent better.
Yes, I. As I mentioned at the beginning, you're getting the backlit from the automobile this morning because the sun doesn't rise for another 40, 41 minutes here this morning. The last thing that creative aging does for us, no matter if we're 5, 50, or 100 years old, is it brings us around people that we would otherwise not be around. You know, I always look at big groups of people doing creative things together, whether it be a choir or a cast or a band, a troop of people who are, you know, making physical art or taking classes together.
The thing that brings them together is the art. They may disagree on everything else in this world, but their ability to make music or to go into dance together, it's a really powerful connector in this world. Creative aging helps us with our cognitive and our physical ability and rebility, and it helps us fight being alone. So whether you're 5 or 50 or 100, find some time to be creative today. Cause here's the deal. Our society does a better job at involving young people in creative activity and old people in creative activity.
But if you are going to work today, if you are still within those years of like, 18 to 60 and you're doing your job, there's not a lot of encouragement for you to go ahead and be creative. Unless you are taking that moment on your own to go, I'm gonna go do that thing. So no matter where you are, no matter what's going on today, I invite you to be creative today. It'll benefit you, it'll benefit the people around you, and it'll benefit this whole world, y'. All. We'll see you soon. 1% better. You hopping on for a live stream this morning?
I hope so. And if 1% better is, make sure you tune on in. Craig will invite you to see your potential, your capacity to move in a direction of being a little bit better than you have been. Maybe you think you could be. All right, we'll talk to you later.
