  1. 0:01Nick the poet has some great advice for you this week

Nick: I've got some poetry for you today. If you have a sore throat, apparently eating marshmallows may help. Every moment is full of possibility. Today, I try to let go of how I think things should work. Have an awesome day.

Hey, folks, how you doing? Nick the poet here. Thanks for taking a walk with me. Welcome to my live stream. Maybe you want to take a walk around the block, a walk around the kitchen. Or maybe you want to sit right where you are. Regardless, I've got some fun stuff. I've got some poetry for you today. I've got some tips. I've got some thoughts that you could take into your day and into the rest of the week. I've noticed that my right eye is a little bit swollen today. I don't know if it's an allergic reaction or a bug bite, but I wouldn't be a good poet if I didn't mention that.

I hope it is not a sty in the eye. So with that, we'll get right into it. Every moment is full of possibility. Stop trying so hard and just let it unfold no need to control just accept and float. Life is beautiful life is a beautiful boat. Hey, speak wonderful. Life is a beautiful boat. And you're not the captain, just a passenger watching the sights and enjoying the light. Hey, welcome. Recovery. Okay, so that's the first thing I've got. The second thing is a health hack that I heard about. It is the cold and flu season.

So if you have a sore throat, apparently eating marshmallows may help. I was surprised when I read this because I like marshmallows. But apparently SAP from the marshmallow plant has been used for hundreds of years to treat coughs and sore throats. So maybe give it a try. If you're feeling under the weather, you know, see how it goes. But if you are feeling gloomy, here's some roomy for you. Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. Bewilderment? Cleverness is mere opinion. Bewilderedness brings intuitive knowledge.

So that is some rumi. Rumi is a great poet, I believe from the 13th century. He's got a ton of other good stuff. And so here's some more thoughts and more poetry for you. I believe that it's important to ask for help and to receive. I believe that the universe is always conspiring to help us and heal us. It may just not be the method that my ego prefers. Today, I try to let go of how I think things should work and feel inspired to see the world anew. What an exquisite opportunity it is to be alive.

Whether I am in the mode of survive or thrive, I can always look at the sky and realize that happiness comes in the blink of an eye. Hopefully not the sty in the eye. As I mentioned, earlier. So this is a rudimentary understanding of the facts of life. And this can lessen any strife. There are no certainties and no guarantees. The ties that bind us all together are invisible yet real. One iota of understanding can lead to a breakthrough that travels a million miles per hour. We all have a song to sing, a dream to fulfill.

The work is in the details. The work is in the moment. The work is now. The best defense is a good offense. There is safety in boldness. There is wisdom in surrender. There is hope in guidance. There is joy in you and everywhere you look. Right, so I got maybe one or two more here. So continuing on. Wonder is our natural skin state as we skate from ordinary to extraordinary moments. And after years of searching, discover that every ordinary moment is crammed with the extraordinary. Life is serious, mysterious, curious.

Life is fun. Life is not meant necessarily to be taken so seriously. Life is a paradox, not meant to be understood, but to be lived. So when you're feeling that awful fright in the night, it's time to reevaluate your moors and find a higher ground. Keep on walking, brave soldiers of the night. Your dream shall loft into flight as you become one with the light. And remember that light is true, and heavy is false. So. And also remember, as GK Chesterton said, anything worth doing is worth doing badly.

So remind yourself of this the next time you're inspired to try something new. Maybe it's singing a song, writing a poem, baking a cake, or coding. Give yourself permission to be bad and soon you may feel rad. And remember, no need to hurry or worry today. If you're like me, you probably will anyways. But just take a few deep breaths and remember, it's all going to be okay. Have an awesome day. I'll catch you on the flip side. Bye.
