  2. 0:40Today we're talking about the power of grace

Last week, I talked on the topic of self awareness. Self awareness is just being mindful of how your words and your actions impact others. Today we're talking about the power of grace.

  3. 2:03Today's topic is the power of grace

Today's topic is the power of grace. As humans, we are gonna need grace for the rest of our lives. And if you're a believer, we have to be willing and able to extend that to others, ourselves. Challenge yourself every day to have a little more patience and show alittle more kind.

It's 830 on a Wednesday. Let me fix this frame here. Good morning, everybody. I always say everybody, even though I have no clue if anybody is even on here, but good morning. And I don't know about you guys, but I'm always looking at the weather first thing. And it was so sunny and beautiful here yesterday. I was actually able to sit on the beach for an hour just reading in shorts. It was that pretty. And today it's overcast and cloudy and cold again. So let me try to not make this wiggle here. All right.

Well, I hope everyone is doing amazing. And today we're talking about the power of grace. So last week, I talked on the topic of self awareness, which, as a reminder, if you. We're here, self awareness is just being mindful of how your words and your actions impact others. Right? So here I am talking about self awareness, thinking I, you know, just was doing such a good deed. And that day, I happened to say something that lacked self awareness. It was not intentionally mean or rude or anything like that, but it was a little careless.

And as soon as I realized that it made somebody that I deeply love and care about feel a certain way, not a positive way, I had to own up and I had to call right away and just plead and beg for their forgiveness and profusely apologize for my thoughtlessness. And they were instantly gracious and forgiving. Even though. And I thought about this after, even though they may not have felt so gracious or felt like being so gracious toward me in that moment, they still so thankful that I was able to right that wrong, in a sense.

And it gave me inspiration for today's topic, which is the power of grace. Right. Because as humans, we are gonna need grace for the rest of our lives. Nobody is perfect. We make mistakes. We have. We misstep all the time, more than many of us would like to think, especially me. So the power of grace, I looked it up, and I didn't think there was going to be so many different definitions for this word, but there were. So I just chose two of them, and I want to read those to you now. Where is it? Okay.

Grace. The quality or state of being considerate or thoughtful. And the second one I chose was a disposition to or an instance of kindness, courtesy, or clemency. That word always reminds me of authority. Give clemency to inmates. All right. So again, Grace, something that we all need. We all have things in our life that we do that require us to receive grace. And if you're a believer, we have to be willing and able to extend that to others, ourselves. So I want to share a few examples that were sort of recent for me.

Over the holidays, I went to a concert. Well, I guess it was a concert. It was small. If you're not familiar with the Katinas, there are a group, brothers. There's like five of them. And they came to our church and performed. And I sat in the second row, and right in front of me was a couple and the lady, and it was a sitting concert. It was just everybody sat the whole time. But this woman kept standing the whole time and just praising with her hands. And so it obstructed my view for most of the performance.

And I felt myself getting annoyed because I'm like, I can't see right. But then I checked. I kept checking myself, like, this is her expressing herself like she's, you know, who knows what is going on with her and her relationship with God in this moment. So I had to do that throughout the entire time. And I'm so glad that I didn't allow myself to get too nasty or judgmental about this because at the end of the show, one of the singers started talking to the audience, and he pointed to this couple and said to them, life was tough for them.

Of course, my heart broke, and I myself to not let it get too far spiritually. So many other examples I remember also, because were any bumps or made any turns, I didn't fall apart because I was very fragile. And, you know, and even, like, when I go to the, you know, when people are crossing and you have. And it doesn't equate with ways about us, we have different behaviors. It's so important that we just show grace and challenge ourselves every day to have a little more patience and show a little more kind.

And I think that was okay. Yeah. Just how good you think you are or walking too slow across the street or whatever it may be, just to challenge yourself and look for opportunities to extend that grace. And that is the word for the day, guys. So hope you enjoyed that. Hope you got something out of that. And I'll be here again next week.
