JC thanks viewers for joining, introduces himself, and offers warm affirmations like "You're special," establishing a supportive tone for the talk.
JC reflects on the oscillation between seeing people as the same versus unique, concluding that both are true and noting there are many ways to be well.
JC recounts a paired exercise where someone changed their example because their partner already spoke about it, using the story to illustrate that what makes you special is your personal perspective, not the facts themselves.
JC explains that each person's perspective is a gift that can benefit others, encourages viewers to let their specialness be seen, and closes with a warm send-off and final lyrics.
Good morning, Cadre. Let it go. Let it go. Don't you know? Let it in. In the end. That song called Little Wonders, Rob Thomas, singer of Matchbox 20 from a movie called Meet the Robinsons. It's a good little tune. Give it a listen today. Little Wonders, Rob Thomas. Hey everybody, I'm JC. If we've never shared time and space together before, thank you for the opportunity to spend some time with you. right here, right now in the cadre sphere. I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here. I know the things I know and I care about you.
You're special. You know, I think we go back and forth in this world oscillating between everybody's the same and nobody's the same. Junk food junkie, nice to see you, my friend. Happy Taco Tuesday. But I'll tell you, in the debate between are we special or are we not, Of course the answer in great cadre classic form is yes and yes, all of it. Because there's lots of ways to be well, there's lots of ways to answer questions and simplicity to complex realities or often really bad pathways to walk down.
But today I'm going to invite you to think about the fact that you are indeed special. Yesterday I was facilitating a class and in an exercise we were doing people were paired up and the first person had to for a minute talk about a person that they thought a famous person that they appreciated. They had to talk about that person for a minute. Well, as luck would have it, the second person in the group had chosen the exact same person as their person that they appreciated. So rather than sharing about that same person, they changed their person on the fly from what they had prepared.
And as we're debriefing this exercise, I was like, well, why did you switch? It's like, well, because that my partner already shared about that person. And I didn't think I had anything special to say because they had already talked about that person. And I gotten one of my tizzies. It's like, no, but the thing that's special about you is not the information you're sharing, but the perspective on the information you're sharing. You are indeed special. And you Because you didn't see your specialness, you let your specialness not be seen by the rest of the world.
And I was like, oh, here's cadre today. Because I'll tell you, people ask me all the time, where do you come up with all these cadre todays every single day? And I go, well, I'm a special person. Meaning, I'm living in the world with my eyes and my senses and my processing and my emotions and my experiences and realities and privileges and all those things that make up my perspective the same way that you are in an incredibly different way. So no matter where you are, no matter what's going on today, I hope you remember that your perspective is that and it's a gift and other people will benefit from it.
So have a great one everybody. I'll see you and your specialness tomorrow. These small hours These little wonders These twists and turns of fate Time falls away But these small hours These small hours Still remain
