The hosts acknowledge the complexity of being human, welcome viewers, and reassure them that it's okay not to feel great. JC introduces himself and frames the episode's focus on different ways to be well.
JC challenges the stigma around quitting by explaining that failing and giving up are not practiced enough, and gives examples where letting go may be the right decision. He invites viewers to consider what they hold onto simply because they always have.
The speaker offers concrete ideas—pausing, redirecting, pruning responsibilities—to test whether something still belongs in your life. He describes possible outcomes when you change things and how shifting perspective can reveal what role something should play.
The talk concludes by reminding viewers they are evolving and shouldn't freeze themselves in place, followed by a brief sign-off and a reprise of the opening chorus. It leaves listeners with encouragement to try small changes and revisit what they let go.
We need to hear the chorus. And I've never been better. And I'm in love with the person that I'm becoming, but I'm more secure than ever. And the more I learn, the less I know, but it's all right. Good morning, Rose. Two different things can both be true at the same time. Yeah, I've never been worse. And I've never been better. I love that song. It comes from down under. That's Ben Abraham from Sydney, Australia, singing Never Been Better. I think it's one of those cadre songs. I've never been worse.
I've never been better. I'm in love with the person I'm becoming, but I'm more insecure than ever. The world isn't binary, right? We are good and bad at the same time. We are growing and struggling and failing and winning all at the same time. And if anybody ever goes, here's the three steps to making everything okay, love their heart, but also question what they're saying because simple sonic solutions to complex problems are the roots of most icky things. The world is complex and so are you. And right here, We're glad that you're here.
We're glad that we're here. We know the things that we know and we care about you. We hope that you're doing great. But we also know that you may not be. Guess what? You are no less worthy, no less amazing, no less capable of doing impactful things today if you're less than great. So you're in the right place and we're here to show you that there's lots of ways to be well. My name's JC. Failing is and giving up are things that we don't practice enough. We don't practice giving up enough. So when we get to a moment where giving up is the right thing to do, it's really hard.
Think about giving up the bad relationship. Think about giving up the addiction. Think about giving up the dream. Think about giving up the race and you go, but those things are different. The way that the brain looks at giving up is quite similar. There are times when giving up is the best and the right thing to do. And yeah, giving up may be hard, but you're also good at doing hard things. My invitation for you today is to really think about those things that you keep doing because you keep doing them.
I'll say it again. My invitation for you today is to consider the things that you don't give up simply because you don't give up. There's no reason like, well, I'm going to continue doing this because or here's my here's my timeline on when I'm going to reassess. We keep doing the thing because it's the thing that you do. Maybe the best thing for you to do for that thing is to give it some space. to give it a different direction, to give it a pause, to get it off your plate and see if it comes back.
And notice I'm not, I very rarely fill in the blanks. It's like, well, what are you talking about, JC? I don't know. what in your space right now you need to gut and grin and bear it. And what you need to go, yeah, you know what, this thing has lived its course and it's time to let it not be on my plate anymore. It's amazing what happens when you create shift and change. It's like pruning a plant. It's like reorganizing A room. It's like cleaning out your car, getting a haircut. When you change something, one or two things happens.
It either stays changed and it goes in a whole new direction that it couldn't have before, or it goes back to where it was before. And then all of a sudden you go, okay, I see this thing a little bit different now. I see this thing in the space that maybe it was meant to be in, but because I wasn't very good at giving it up in the 1st place, it just stayed where it was. Y'all, we are verbs, we are not nouns. We are evolutions. So stop trying to hold yourself exactly where you are and where you've always been.
There's something out there for you. I'll see you tomorrow. And I've never been better. And I'm in love with the person that I'm becoming, but I'm more insecure than ever. I love that line. And the more I learn the less I know, but it's all right. Two different things can both be true at the same time. Say it. Well, I've never been worse. And I've never been better.
