Oh, Hey, good morning, cadre. How are we doing on this? Uh, Sunday, I hope you're doing. Swell. Um, I am in Hartford, Connecticut. Um, at the airport. Um, getting ready to head home. Um, I always feel like heading home on a Sunday is a weird thing, cuz. It's like, okay. I've been working this weekend. And it's the end of the weekend, which means tomorrow's the beginning of the week. You know where people are like, ah, how is the weekend? And my brain I'm going like, okay, I'm ready for a weekend.
That's why often on Sundays, we talk about this idea of thin space. The space in between, um, in between lots of things, beginnings and ends. Ends like later on today, it'll be. Gosh, the weekend's over, but the week hasn't begun yet. It's that space in between that thin space. Maybe you're in a thin space between good stuff and bad stuff or busy stuff and easy stuff. Or light and dark. Loud and quiet. Um, but it's quite often when we can find ourselves in that thin space. In between, um, that um, really good things.
Um, can manifest or become clear. Mm-hmm (affirmative) um, so there's no better place to be than right here in the cadre sphere. The space where you can go. Huh? Where am I? Why am I, what am I doing? Why am I doing it? I hope you're doing good. And if you're not. Um, here's your daily reminder that that's okay too. You're still incredibly capable, still incredibly worthy. Worthy, and you're probably still gonna accomplish some pretty remarkable things today. Um, I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you are here.
I know the things I know, and I care about. You here's the deal rest is not. Um, the absence of work. The rest is not uh, passive thing. Um, rest is not something that happens. To us. It's not like, okay, I don't have anything going on. So therefore I am resting. Mm-hmm (affirmative). Um, a lot of times we feel like that's what we have to do. Right. That rest is, um, the not doing but reality. Um, you end up resting more. When you're doing, um, not nothing but doing different things. Um, doing things that, um, that you love doing things that bring you into a larger world like outside.
Um, and things that engage your. Um, the beings of, or the elements of your being that you normally don't engage, like maybe. Your your creativity or your emotions or your. Um, uh, non um, task oriented things. Um, so my question to you today. If today is a day of rest. Um, what does that look like? Um, and again, as always, I'm the many ways to be well gagged. Um, so you'll never hear me say, ah, ah, you need to put down your cell phone and get off social media. Um, otherwise you're never gonna, or you're not resting.
It's like no, sometimes opening up the candy crush. Is exactly the the resting act and other times it's not. Um, you may be a person who every single moment you have that you're not doing something. Uh, you start doing jumping jacks or you start going for a run or you start. Journaling or whiteboarding or, and in reality, you may need to do the opposite of that. Rest. Is, um, doing different. Rest is, um, listening. Um, and then responding accordingly. Um, so my invitation for you today. Is to listen to what your body's craving.
And then to provide at that. That may be, you'd be like, oh my gosh, I've been. I've been literally working, working, working. And what you may need to do is go for a really long walk, which. Part of your brain may go. It's like, oh no, but that's more work. That's gonna tire me out more. Mm-hmm (affirmative) in reality, if that's what you're needing. Um, it will provide you the energy that you need. Um, but it'll also set you into a space of like, if you struggle with sleeping, often, um, it's not because you have.
Um, uh, an incapacity to sleep, but that you have energy that needs to be. Um, uh, exchanged um, energy that needs to be withdrawn. And put to use. So all is to say my invitation for you today. Is to remember that. Rest is not the absence of work. Rest is an activity. Rest is a verb. Verb. Um, but the cool thing is rest is. Um, incredibly valuable. To find what rest looks like for you today. I will be attempting to do that. As I continue to work today. Knowing that, um, I need. Rest, just like you do.
It's the reason why we are not influencers. We are not experts. Uh, we are not creators. We are contributors. We are people who are contributing. Our perspective, our reality, our struggle. Um, with y'all. Our cadre, our special group of people with a special intention. Y'all have a good one.
