Hey, good morning. Cadre. We have a nice, uh, lineup of contributors for you today. Hey Josh. 1, 2, 3. How are you? My friend. I hope you are great. Um, I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you are here. I know the things I know. And I care about you um, this morning. Um, I am down at the, uh, uh, VA hospital. Uh, with my dad, um, got him there. Nice and early before the place opened up. Um, for some uh, tests and procedures and things. And, um, it's um, you know, in one, in one area of my life, I work with, um, older older individuals.
Individuals, um, the group that I, uh, support and lead. Our currently 60 to 91 years old. And, um, uh, it's. It's interesting. Cause. You know, we look at, um, you know, a segment of the population, like. Retired or elderly. And we go, ah, they are. Old. The interesting thing about this group is I am. Um, a lot closer in age to our youngest member. So I am 16 years younger than. Our 60 year olds. Olds, um, then our youngest members. 60 are to our oldest members, 91. I am 16 years younger. Than our youngest and they are 31 years younger.
Than our oldest. Now he's here and people go. Whoa. I never thought of it that way. Is the 60 year old feels more like the 91 year old. Um, then feels like a 44 year old. Not because of anything physiological or psychological, but because the world. Says, Hey, you are now old. Um, and being at the VA this morning, um, kind of reminded me of, of another. Um, kind of assumed segmentation. Right. The VA is, is, is the, is the hospital. And, and often the. The social space, the care space for. Um, for veterans.
Veterans veterans who are 22 and veterans who are 102. Um, and the things that bring them to. Um, synergy and to togetherness. Um, um, are are much like the things that bring maybe. Older retired individuals or elderly individuals to, um, to their proximity. And it's my invitation for you today. Um, be mindful about how you. Um, uh, group people. Including yourself. Um, so the good reasons as to why we group people. Um, come to the top and maybe they're the things that, um, that blind us or slow.
Us down or hinder us in the way we grew people maybe fall. Fall away or fall aside. Um, because it's, it's interesting when you walk into a space where there's. There's something that brings people together. You can feel that. Um, and there's power to it. But anything without a little bit of mindfulness loses its its power and its. Its clarity. So what groups are you a part of? What binds you to them? And what may be about those things that are assumed that, that bring you together. Maybe slow you down or, or, or dull your shine.
Things considered today. All right, I'm gonna pop back into the VA. Uh, my dad will be out of procedures in about an hour. Um, cross some fingers for my dad. Talk to you later.
