Cadre Cadre fam. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. It is Tuesday, June 9th, and it's a good day. Speak wonder. What's up? What's up? Good morning. It's been a good day for me. As you guys know, Tuesdays, my 4am days. So we've been up and at it. Today I'm listening to a song by Sister Nancy called Bam Bam. It's a it's legit. I really like it. It's like a reggae type vibe. But that's what we're vibing to today. That's the vibe. So good morning. Good morning. Hope everybody is having a good day.
And if you're not, we will get through it. My name is Rolando Coach Rowe, Rose 612 on social media, all the things. And I'm excited to be here. This is a day that I look forward to every week. And I like to start the day with a little check-in. How are you doing? Where are you at? So like me, I'm a big numbers. I like to number where I'm at, what the day is for me. So I know what to expect from myself and how to show up. So I challenge you. can drop in the chat. I love seeing the numbers. But if you feel led, if not, cool, just identify within.
From 0, from 1 till 10, 10 being greatest day ever, probably should hit the lottery because we're going to win. And one being like, we probably need some extra support today. Probably didn't want to get out of bed. For me, I would say I'm at like, I'm at a strong eight. Yeah, I'm at a strong eight. Yeah, I'd probably be at a nine if I had some food, but we're running on fumes since 4am. So I challenge you, what song on a male, you know the song, it's a vibe, right? It's a vibe. So I challenge you 7.
Okay, now that we got that number, I ask you, let me get in the middle of this camera. 5 OK and I challenge you to ask yourself this is more of an internal question. What would it take for you to get to that next number? Right, what would it take? So there's something to chew on. Alright, so today I want to talk about specifically what are we making time for? What are we creating space for in our lives, right? And what that looks like so. I had a date the other day, right? I'm a young guy, I'm single, I'm dating, right?
Went on a date the other day. This was the second date with someone, right? I really like this person. And I was like, I really want to be intentional, right? So they're a vegan. I am not. I'm a straight car. I love meat. So, but I was like, okay, this person has a different lifestyle a little bit, but I still want to get to know them, right? So I'm like, okay, what's your favorite restaurant? And it came to be a vegan restaurant. It's called Francis over of Central. And I'm like, okay, I'm willing to try it.
I've never really done the vegan route. I went like without meat for like 60 days one time. But anyways, I went, I was like, I want to go and try that restaurant. I want to step into your world a bit, right? And I did that, tried the Impossible Burger with a vegan egg, which it was interesting, right? But anyways, I did that, stepped into this person's space, tried something new out of my comfort zone and it went really well. I liked the vegan burger, but then as a part of the date, I was like, okay, I'm not a typical date type person, right?
So I bought a disposable camera and was like, look, there's 27 pictures. You get 14 and I get 13, right? We're going to take pictures throughout this day. And we're not going to explain them at the time. But when we get them developed at a later date, then we're going to explain why we took every picture and what made it stuck out. So little cheat code. That's how you lock in another date, fellas. So another cheat code right there. Anyways, so and then we went to the Foshay Tower. I've been in Minnesota in my whole life, never been there, and neither has she.
And we're like, let's go check it out. So the reason I chose that is not just because neither one of us have been there, But it was a space where you get to take in the sights, you get to see the city and you get to slow down, right? You're not really on your phone. There's not a bunch of traffic coming and going and you just get a lot of one-on-one conversation. And what was interesting is about that we end up sitting up there for like an hour and a half just talking about life, family, friends, values, belief, all these things, all while still taking pictures.
And it was really cool. There wasn't a lot of distractions. But I started thinking back about it after the date. It was a really good day, took a bunch of pictures. But it made me start thinking that like none of this was by accident, right? Not that I was trying to set up this perfect day, but I intentionally created space with someone that I valued and wanted to learn and grow relationship with, right? So that intentionality behind it, I created these spaces, one in their comfort zone that pulled me out of mind a little bit within reason.
and then create a space, a new adventure, a new space just to be intentional and create relationship, right? And I really like that, right? It wasn't the typical day, got the pictures, all that. So like, it got me thinking about the intentionality of it, right? Oh, can you guys see my dog in the background up here in this? Yeah, that's where he stands to keep an eye on me. That's ASAP. Anyways, but like, That got me thinking of the intentionality behind relationships, right? I don't know about you guys, but for me, I have a lot of relationships and places that I want to grow in, but I keep expecting it to happen in these leftover spots of my life, right?
In these leftover spaces where I'm like, oh, I want to grow a relationship with this community, this friend group, this person. But I want it to happen in this leftover life space where I just have an hour or two of leftover time and I just show up and that's it. Well, I don't know about you guys, but for me, those relationships stay stagnant and they don't grow, right? And I've talked about recently, if you've been with me for the last few weeks about being in healthy environments, being a good seed in good soil, feeding off of the environments that we're in.
soil analogy. But this was kind of that next space for me. It's like, OK, even if I'm in a good environment with good people, how do I intentionally create space with those individuals to grow relationships, right? Because we expect relationships to grow, friendships, community, and we expect them to develop. But like if we're not creating that intentionality like it stays stagnant, right? So I did. I started thinking about that throughout the week and when I was at work yesterday, I am hybrid at my current role, right?
And there's an individual that we're on the same team, we're heading in the same direction, but we don't really spend a lot of time together outside of emails and passing by. So I went into the office for FaceTime and I was like, you know what, we have our weekly standup meeting. I don't want to do in the office. It's kind of boring. Like, let's go get coffee. Let's go get coffee, have it there, transition over there in the ride together. And we did that. And so that was me being intentional about a co-working relationship.
We went to go with coffee, sat down at the coffee shop. She was ready to go. She was like, all right, we walking back. I'm like, no, like, this is the meeting. This is what we're doing, right? and sat down and just got to conversate and relax in a little bit of work, but also personal stuff within reason, just chopping it up, right? And towards the end, I seen this look on her face and she was like, you know what, like this was actually really nice. And you could see like, it was almost like you could see a relationship growing or building.
You could see someone not necessarily that they had walls down, but these, the space of comfort was created, right? And that's that intentionality. So like we all have spaces in our lives that are can either be stay stagnant, they can stay the same or we can be intentional and grow those, right? Whether it's a friend group, co-working space, a dating situation like it was for myself. But what is interesting about that is when I create space for those relationships to be built, They do come with a price tag, right?
Sometimes they're inconvenient. Sometimes we have to go out of our way. Sometimes they come with accountability. If it's a good friend group or a good relationship, they come with growth. They come with friendship relationship. They come with all these things that are all good. But the better of a relationship that we had because we intentionally created space, the more we're able to accept these things to work through and actually build with an individual. So I got personally, I got tired of trying to create relationships with leftover space and I made a conscious decision.
I was like, you know what? We're done with that. We're going to be intentional. We're going to show up and we're going to be creating spaces that is safe for other people so we can build relationships to further the ones that I got right. So that leads me to my question to you guys. What are you creating space for and also what have you been expecting to grow in leftover space. And by leftover space, I mean, you have, you know, a Thursday night, you have an hour free and someone hits you up for coffee and you kind of just show up and like, I had to be here or like I had extra times like, okay, what are you creating space for in your life right now?
And what is an area where you're expecting things to grow in leftover space? That one was a hard question for me. You don't have to answer in the chat, but just think about it. That one was a stinger question for me, because I have a whole friend group that I go to concerts with, EDM shows, really good people. But I expected those relationships to grow in leftover space. And guess what they did? They called me out. They called me out. They're like, they didn't say leftover space, but they approached me and expressed their feelings.
It's like, hey, we value, we love you, but like we like intentionality. And that exposed that kind of leftover space concept to me, right? So that's something I've been trying to not do is create things, let things be created for themselves in that leftover space. So intentionality, right? So that's what I got for you. Just wanted to share a piece of my life, my thinking. And apparently now this is a dating channel, I guess. Just kidding. But so my question again, I'm going to run it back. What are you creating space for?
And what are some things in your life that you're expecting to grow from leftover space? I challenge you to ask that question when it comes to your friend group, when it comes to coworkers, when it comes to even creating space for yourself. Because that's an important one too. Because if we're not creating space for ourselves, it's going to be very hard to create space for other people and have it be sustainable. Highlight of that sentence, sustainable. Yeah, we can do it. If you're like me with enough caffeine and enough gym sessions and sonic gold plunges, we can make anything happen but long term sustainable growth.
in relationships. We need to create that space for ourselves. So that's what I got. Let's see, we're rolling to the chats here. Love it. I need to be more intentional about putting time on the calendar with my friends. Totally, I've been letting that fall to the wayside. At least you labeled it, you identify it. So that's good. I use my calendar too. I literally, if I could pull my calendar up, I would. Weekly check-ins and then I have a list of names. Check in with Dan, check in with Jessica, check in with all certain family members, even if it's just a text.
And it's not because I don't care about them, but like, I don't know if you have noticed, I'm a wanderer. I come to a space cadet. Like there's some gems in there, but like I'm like squirrel. So like when I schedule it, that's me being intentional. I don't always tell people I scheduled it because They don't need to understand all the wiring of my brain, but that's how I stay organized. So that's what I got for you guys today. So I challenge you to get out and enjoy this slightly humid weather. But this weather is still a gift.
Don't forget about those February days. That's what I got for you. So have a great day. See you guys next week. And I never know what to do in these last few seconds, so we're just going to like freeze.
