A short opening performance of 'Broken Wings' establishes the mood; the host pauses the music to transition into the talk.

He introduces the idea of 'enoughness' — doing what you can from your present capacity instead of aiming for perfection — and gives concrete examples of scaling tasks to fractions of usual effort.

  5. 4:11Invitation and closing song

He invites viewers to do what they're capable of now or to rest if needed, then cues the musician to play the closing chorus of the song.

Take these broken wings, and learn to fight in, and they're so cool. We're here, let us sing. The book of love will open up, and let us hear. Hit the pause right there. Take these broken wings and learn to fly again. Learn to live so free when we hear the voices sing. The book of love will open up and let us sing. Okay, Brock, nice to see you, my friend. That's a little Broken Wings, great little tune by Mr. Mister. And I hope you're doing great. I hope you're doing great on this Wednesday morning.

I've got a little tickle and a little cold and all those things that happen that make you go, oh yeah, I forgot that I was feeling good amidst all the stressors and challenges of life. I forgot about that. And all of a sudden you get a little under the weather and you go, oh my gosh, it was so much easier when my body was doing maybe what my body is most easily, efficiently designed to do. But guess what? I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here. I know the things I know and I care about you. Cole, happy marathon countdown.

You're getting ready to run one of my favorite courses in this lovely little world we get to live in. Have a blast this weekend. So what do we do when we're under the weather? You know, the quick, easy answers are, oh, take care of yourself. Do what you need to do. We hear those things. And if we have work that maybe has the infrastructure that allows us to rest, that's nice. But sometimes we don't. Sometimes we have obligations and responsibilities and appointments where the work continues, even if we're not feeling 100%.

I don't get sick too often, so I always wait until I am. to do this live stream because it makes something else I say all the time, make enough sense. Notice I say not make perfect sense, but make enough sense to go and go, okay, I get it. This idea of enoughness that I talk about pretty much every single day woven in to anything that I ever talk about is so often we are invited to always do more to always be better, to never be okay. And it's in moments like this you go, oh, now I get it. We always have to work from what we have and where we are to accomplish what we can.

The most successful people in this world do that. The most successful people in this world go, you know what? Right now my capacity is, therefore I am going to. As opposed to what the loud world says, and that is, well if you can't do everything, you better do nothing. Because less than everything is, say it with me, not enough. So today, I'm going to take care. I'm going to do what I need to do, like we are told to do whenever we are under the weather. But I'm also going to focus on what I am capable of.

And that means I'm going to focus on what I'm not capable of. Well, if I was feeling better, I'd be able to do x. But I'm not. 6x. I'm going to do 1/2x. I'm going to do y. Maybe I'm going to do something absolutely different because that's what I'm capable of doing. My invitation for you today, if you're feeling great or if you're feeling less than great, is to do what you're capable of doing now here. And if you're like, I can't do anything, then take care, rest, and do what you need to do. Mr.

Mr. will play us out one more time with that beautiful chorus, Take these broken wings and learn to fly. Learn to live so free when you hear the voices sing. The Book of Love will open up and let us sing. Take these broken wings
