Cadre. Cadre fan. Good morning. Good morning. Hope all is well today. My name is Rolando. I go by rose612row. You can call me all the things. Good morning today. Today is a good day and I am low on energy. We're coming in with the sounds today on my plat on my speakers. Today is OK by atmosphere. I am that Minnesotan. I am a big fan of atmosphere, local rap artists and he speaks a lot about a lot of real topics. You know, from rap, hip hop, partying to good days. Emotions, feelings, all the things, right?
And I really like when someone talented can sing about a rough day and how even the best days can still have, you know, rough times throughout that day. Anyways, Atmosphere. Love them. That's what we're coming in hot today and today. I love doing check ins every day today one through ten, ten being the best day ever. One being like I didn't want to get out of bed. I challenge you. Where are you at? Drop it in the chat and let's kind of gauge and see where we're at today. For myself today I would say I'm at about a 6, 6, 5 and a half 6.
And not in terms of like am I in a good mood or not, but just overall energy. I think like I'm having a good mood but the energy is kind of low because life has been heavy. Been dealing with a lot of mourning, grief and loss over the last couple weeks. We're currently up to four deaths, four human deaths and a dog, two overdoses, two medical, all within two weeks. So there's, there's a lot going on. So still cheerful, still grateful for the day, all the things in my life. But it's just one of those days where that energy is catching up to me, right?
The lack of energy. And it really had me thinking today about basketball, right? Whether it's Lebron, whether it's Kobe, Rodman. I think about the star player. They're out there, they're crushing it. They're killing, they're leading, they're driving, they're scoring, they're moving the needle forward and they're going crazy on the court. All time high points, assists. I won't get too deep into the weeds of basketball. But then the coach starts noticing something, right? The coach will notice that the defense is a little off, that he's missing shots, that he is forcing shots.
All things that the player doesn't really notice at the time, but the coach does. The coach sees what's going on and the coach has to make a Call right. If we want to make it to the fourth quarter with our star shooter, our star player, we have to pull him. We have to pull him out of the game. Not because he's weak, not because he doesn't have the skill set, not because he isn't scoring, but because when it comes to sustainability, we all need a reset. And the coach does that very well. And that makes me think we have to coach ourselves.
We have to be that mental, emotional, spiritual coach for ourselves, even when it's hard sometimes and we don't see or we don't see that we're missing shots, that we're forcing things. Right? We are all entrepreneurs, business owners. We're out here, you know, showing up in the community, doing all these things, and we just don't sub ourselves out enough. We keep running and we blame ourselves when performance drops or productivity drops a bit. But no athlete in any sport plays all four quarters consistently throughout they take breaks.
And we need to do the same for us. Sub ourselves out emotionally, mentally, just for a bit, just to sit on the bench, get the Gatorade, listen to our. In our scenarios, it might not be Gatorade in a towel, but it might be music. It might be a long walk. It might schedule. It might be scheduling some time to sit and do nothing and just exist and reset and refocus. The bench isn't just punishment or that timeout. It's not punishment. It's where we catch our breath, we hydrate, we get to reset our mind, and we don't lose composure.
So when I'm in a funk, I wrote down a couple tips that I do. So when life is getting challenging, life is stretching me thin and I'm hitting that point where I just need that reset. I need to sit on the bench for a minute. It right what I do when I'm in that funk. Well, this is what I don't do. I don't. I made a list, so I remember them. Just a couple ones that stuck out to me. I. When I'm in that funk and life stretching me thin and I need that time out on the bench, I don't make big decisions.
I just don't. I might think about them, but I don't make big decisions. I don't burn bridges. I don't question my whole life. When I'm burnt out in a funk and I'm stretched, then it is not time to reassess. Like, am I where I'm supposed to be in life? Not the right timing, great thought, perspective and things to have, but like, not the right timing, right? So I don't question my whole existence. I take that reset. I longboard, weather permitting. I listen to music, I sit. And I recently found out that scrolling on social media does not count as my reset.
That's quite the opposite. But what I do is I lower the expectations on the day. I don't have to show up and it be the Rolando show. I don't have to show up and be the number one caregiver for everyone in my circles today. I don't have to take on those extra things. Just because I can. Just because I can do it doesn't mean that I should do it. And I need to do it. Not every opportunity is my opportunity to step in and save the day because I'm going to do it with grit and I'm the guy and I can do all things, all those are true.
But that doesn't mean that everything is for me to do at that time. So I lower the expectations on what I sign myself up for and I focus on maintenance, self care. I get a haircut, I get my face beard trimmed up, hair done, complete new man. So if you ever see me scruffy, you're like, yeah, it's time for a reset, bro. I focus on that maintenance. What does that maintenance look like for you? I challenge you. Drop in the comments. What's one thing that you consider maintenance? You know, cars have oil changes, transmission fluid, all these other things.
But us as humans, what do we have? What do you have? What is your maintenance? Is it hitting the gym? Is it running, is it cardio, is it spending time with your pup? It looks different for all of us. I like to talk about them because sometimes we don't even really think about what our maintenance looks like. We're just on autopilot and we just do these things. So sometimes when life gets rough, when life gets. We feel the pressures of life, it doesn't mean that we're failing. It doesn't mean that we're weak.
It doesn't mean that we're not strong and it doesn't mean that we're not the star player in our life, because we are. It means we're just tired and we need to take a few minutes to sit on the bench and reset. We all need it. We all need it. So that's what I got for you today. I chose to show up even with low energy because I love this space and I still need to show up, but I just don't have to show up. Like with all glitz and gram and like, you know, a parade and trumpets. And sometimes it feels like that when I show up because I can be a bit much, but I'm here.
And sometimes the smartest move is knowing when to sit out for a minute, when to take the passenger seat in the ride so we can come back stronger and finish game four and drop that winning shot, the buzzer beater that gets us to the playoffs. Let's be prepared for when that shot comes. That's all I got for you. Hope you guys have a good day. Remember, drop in the chat 1 through 10 how your day is going. And one thing that you do for maintenance, someone else looking in the comments might see and go, oh, that's a good idea.
Maybe I should try that. So me, I'm waiting for the roads to clear up so I can longboard with my headphones in downtown. So if you're in the Minneapolis area when it gets nice out, if you see me on my longboard with headphones in, wave me down because I love to stop and talk. That's just who I am. But anyways, that's what I got for you. Have a great day. Let's get to it.
