Mel Robbins: I love making mistakes on purpose. When you make mistakes in front of people on purpose, you teach them. That's what Cadre's purpose is in this world, to help you be a little bit better.

Sometimes your life feels like a broken roller coaster. A thousand useless moving parts. Sometimes you spend your nights too scared of getting closer. Hiding out in the backseat of your cart. You tell yourself it's raining, the clouds are in your head. You jump yourself. It's better to jump before you again. Before you lose it all again. Look up. Do you see the sunlight? Look up. There's flowers in your head. Hold on, cuz somebody loves you. You know trouble's always gonna be there. Let it bring it to your knees.

Look up. Good morning, Cadre. That song has been on repeat on my Spotify and also right here in my Cadre. Mel, it's nice to see you, my friend. Josh, it's good to see you. How are we doing on this? It's Wednesday already. It is Wednesday, the 4th of February. Wait, is that. I almost just said, may the 4th be with you. But no, that would be May 4th, not February 4th. See, I don't get the whole pop culture stuff most of the time, but I try. I hope you're doing well. And if you're not, that is a okay as well.

You are still capable, still potent, still highly potential of doing many, many things in this world, even. Even when you don't feel like it, right? That's one of the things we're here to remind you of. I'm glad that I'm here. I'm glad that you're here. I know the things that I know, and I really care about you. Those 17 words, I invite you to repeat them with me when I say them, right? I'm glad that I'm here. I'm glad that you're here. I know what I know, and I care about you. Because we all need those types of relationships in this world, right?

When we sit in this space of living this life, sometimes it's easy to go, am I the only one? And the answer is yes and no. You are the only one. You are the only you. But are you the only one who's thinking and wondering and figuring stuff out? No. That's the thing that brings us all together. We're figuring out our own stuff, but we can do it together. And when we do, we feel a little bit better. That's what Cadre's purpose is in this world, to help you be a little bit better. I love making mistakes on purpose.

Now, again, I don't walk into a situation, be like, okay, I'm gonna mess this thing up, but I love when I see myself stumbling or struggling or getting lost, just like when I was like, what day is it? I love those moments. Or when I was like, oh, may the fourth be with you? And I'm like, oh, no, I guess that's May 4th, not February 4th. I love walking into spaces when I'm doing things incorrectly or when I'm getting lost. And I love doing it with joy and with openness and with clarity. Because a, I learn in those moments, I get to walk a pathway that isn't the right pathway.

You know, it's the whole poem, right? Like, walk the other path. Why? Because you're going to see things you don't see on the regular path. But here's the deal. When you make mistakes in front of people on purpose, you teach them. You give them permission to do the same. If you want to be the leader, if you want to be the inspirer, if you want to be the interesting, be all that you are all the time. In the perfect and the imperfect, in the right and in the wrong, in the thing you know that's going to happen.

And in the curve ball situation where you go, hmm, I didn't think that's the way it was going to go, but it did. The last couple of nights, I sat in a room watching, you know, 80 young people audition for a musical. The auditions I remember are the ones when the young person made a mistake and they acknowledged it in a, huh, I'm gonna keep going. They didn't break down, they didn't stop, they didn't apologize, but they allowed themselves to move with that moment, creating a once in a lifetime experience that I got to be a part of.

Create those once in a lifetime experiences. That's my invitation for you today. Make mistakes on purpose and see what you find in the midst of them. But in the meantime, go back, live that day and. Hold on. Cause somebody loves you.
