  2. 1:22Cadre reminds you that you are still capable of doing amazing things

But first, I'm really glad that you're here. Here's that reminder that you are still wonderfully capable, wonderfully worthy of doing some pretty miraculous things. So even though it may not feel like it, you do not lose your worth when all of a sudden you're feeling maybe less than you.

  3. 2:10The title for today's Cadre is Tall Buildings

The title for today's Cadre is Tall Buildings. This evening, there's an event going on in downtown Minneapolis. Join us from 5 to 7:30 at the IDS Tower. We're singing the Mary Tyler Moore theme song. I invite you to look at you right now.

Who can turn the world on with a smile? Who can take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? Well, it's you, girl, and you should know it with each glance and every little movement you show it? Love is all around no need to waste it, you can have a. Why don't you take it? You're gonna make it after all hey, Seymourcer 900. You're gonna make it after all. I'll hit the pause button right there. That's halfway through the Mary Tyler Moore theme song Mary Tyler Moore sitcom, which took place where?

Minneapolis. There's a wonderful bronze statue of Mary Tyler Moore throwing her classic hat into the air. But it's also one of the few theme sitcom theme songs that has two verses. I'll play the other one on the way out. Later on this evening, I'm going to be helping kick off winter in Minneapolis at an event that I'll tell you about in a moment. But first, I'm really glad that you're here. I'm glad that I'm here. I know the things I know and I care about you. Those are the four kind of tenets to every single session of Cadre today that we engage in.

So whether this is your first time here or you're, gosh, you've probably done this 400 times by now, 500 times by now, couple years worth. I hope you're doing great. But if you're not doing great, here's that reminder that you are still wonderfully capable, wonderfully worthy of doing some pretty miraculous things. So even though it may not feel like it, you do not lose your worth when all of a sudden you're feeling maybe less than you or less than your hundred percent. So the title for today's Cadre today is Tall Buildings.

I always love. I'm one of those people who, whenever I'm around tall buildings, I have to look up. Because I always look up and I go, huh? That is miraculous. First of all, that we came up with this idea of using space vertically. But also, number two, that we figured out how to engineer buildings that would stay tall. But then one day I was like, huh? Tall buildings never start that way. Tall buildings never start that way. Tall buildings start with dirt, flat, nothing, and then they become something.

And so often we look at that something and we go, ah. That something is where the worth is. What floor of that building is. Is. Is the worth held? Is there more worth on the top floor or is there more worth in the foundation? It's kind of a figurative question, but I would say this culturally, where do we put the. Where do we put the fancy and the rich? It's not in the basement. It's where the mail room is. If you've ever seen Elf, the movie, that's where the mail room is. What do we put on the top floor?

The corner office? That's where we put the rich and the fancy. But I think the worth truly, truly is greater in the space where the building once wasn't, as opposed to where we look where the building currently is. This evening, as I mentioned, there's an event going on in downtown Minneapolis. It is free. If you are in the Twin Cities, please join us from 5 to 7:30 at the IDS Tower. The IDS Tower is currently the tallest building in Minnesota. If you look at the Minneapolis skyline, it's the tallest one, but it wasn't back in the day.

The Fauchet Tower was the tallest building. And then the next one, and the next one, so on, so forth. The buildings that we perceive as being tall haven't always been that way. And I hope that changes the way you perceive you right now. This evening we're gonna sing the Mary Tyler Moore theme song. And at that last chord, ba da ba ba ba, the skyline is going to light up. The ceremonial start to winter is going to start after we sing the Mary Tyler Moore theme song, which is about this woman who was climbing, who was figuring her life out, who was changing norms and changing perceptions of who and what deserved to be doing the thing that Mary Tyler Moore wanted to do.

And now we have a bronze statue of Mary right down the block from where we're going to be singing, where we're going to be lighting up the tallest building in the city. You see the point? Tall buildings never start that way. Tall buildings sometimes get in the way. Tall buildings are often the ones where we look up and we go. That is the space to look. But I invite you to look at you right now. Find a mirror. Hi. Hey, there's you. Go ahead and consider who you are right now, who you used to be, who you're becoming, and realize that you are worthy of situations, of comedy, of grief, of success.

A failure, of all those things that we put into, let's say a 22 minute episode in a sitcom. Settle in for the life that you're living because it's a pretty great ride. We'll see you tomorrow. Verse 2. It's time you started living. It's time you let someone else do the giving. Love is all around, no need to waste it. You can have the time. Why don't you take it? You're gonna make it after all. You're gonna make it after all. Bye.
