    Addiction is the only disease that when we treat it, we become better versions of ourselves. Not just physically healthier, but mentally, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually fitter than we were before. Sometimes being an addict can be a major blessing.

Most diseases when we get sick. The best outcome when we get treatment is that we get back to the same level of health we had before. Addiction is the only disease that when we treat it, we become better versions of ourselves. Not just physically healthier, but mentally, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually fitter than we were before. This isn't an original thought that I had. I just stole this from a TikTok of Stevo who probably stole it from somebody else. Addicts love to repeat some aphorism that they heard from a meeting, but the message is clear.

Sometimes being an addict can be a major blessing, and for me, it's always been one of the things that I am most grateful for in my life. We are the lucky ones in many ways.
