Get To the Root with Rachel Logan

RLRachel Logan

Rachel Logan is wrapping up a series called watch your mouth. This month is all about formulas. The formula is soaking plus God equals peace. Peace is not always the absence of chaos, it's about learning how to calm in a storm. Like, you know, after a show, they have like that.

Hello. Hello, Cadre. We are live. Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Sorry for the tardiness. We were having technical difficulties. But we are in. We are live. If you can hear and see me, if you are tuning in, drop me a heart. So I know that you are here with me and that you can hear and see me in that all is well enough. Okay, Next piece must be well. Welcome and welcome. Welcome. We are ending the month. Hello, Dr. John. Hello, hello. Hello, Dr. S. John. Welcome. I am Rachel Logan. I am getting to the root with you today as we are wrapping up a series called watch your mouth.

Watch your mouth. And so we are. I'm going to conclude because you know, I'm already in May. I feel like May, April showers bring May flowers because here in Illinois it is. It's a rainy day. And so I am looking forward to blossoming flowers, blooming trees. I'm looking for towards just a new season. And so if you are with me, Ms. Cool with you, we're gonna just end the series of watching your mouth. And we are entering to a new in a new series. Listen with some new strategies. And if you are with me, drop me your heart.

Hello. Let me know where you from, Dr. S. John. Let me know where are you in the world. Like I say, I'm Illinois, close to Missouri. And what I love about Cadre is that a new person hops on often. And so it's cool to connect with new people. So come on in and welcome everyone. Today is a good day. Today is a good day. And I have some really cool formulas to drop for you today. So here I get to the root. We combine faith with evidence based practices. And today I wanted to talk about mental health.

I know this is the mental health platform, but I have a cool analogy that I want to share. Oh, what's up in Chattanooga? Awesome. We will be out that way. My daughter plays softball and there's a softball tournament at the end of May and we'll be out that way in May. So that's pretty cool. So I want to just drop this analogy. My car, I drive a four door sedan and my engine light is on and I know that it's making. When I turn off the car, it sounds like the car is still on. So it's still running.

I don't know what's happening, but my engine light is on. And when I turn off the car, the fan is still going. Okay. So it sounds like the car is still running, but it's actually turned off. And I had this aha moment where I thought about Us as humans and how our engine light can be on and how even though we're resting or laying in bed, our minds can still be going on like the faint in my car. So it sounds like we're still revving up. It can sound like we're still going, but our bodies are trying to rest.

And so I just had this aha moment that our bodies are like engines. Our minds, our mental health, our emotional and physical well being is just like a car is similar to a car, similar to a car engine. And I just want to know if your engine light is on and have you checked in lately? Is your engine light on? Is it? Is your body? I just want you to check in today. Is your body telling you that you need an oil change? Is your body or your mental health reminding you that you might need a car wash? You got to clean out the inside.

You might need some new wax, a new fresh coat of wax. Is your body or mental health alerting you that you need some read to re up that you need? You might need some fuel. Think about that. Just check in with me today. That's all I want us to do. Just simply check in. Just pause and check in. Are you good? Have you been in a place where things are running smoothly today? When I woke up, I felt like I felt my body. Just know that it was not. Because sometimes you know when you wake up you can be like, time to go, I'm ready.

Take, eat the frog, eat the elephant, let's go. Right, Ready to get this workout in. Ready to start my work day. But today I woke up on the like a little slower side and instead of me like trying to force myself to rev up, I just acknowledge. Hello, Doreen. Welcome, welcome. Today we're talking about just simply checking in our bodies and relating our bodies to the car. Because my car engine is on because it's telling me something is off. And I just want us to check in with our own bodies just to see like is our car engine light on or are we in good standing?

So I woke up today and I did kind of feel like, like I don't feel like it, but I know I have to because I have children and they require, they require me to rise. But I just told myself today too that it's okay if I don't feel like it's okay if I'm not on a team and it's okay if I'm on a level five. But what do I need to feel good? So just like my car, the engine light is on, my energy level Light was on, it's kind of low, but I gave myself grace and I realized that I just need something warm because it was rainy and a little chilly out.

So I went and I got me a coffee, like a latte. And I just gave myself the time that I needed instead of like trying to make myself go hard, get my exercise in, get this done all before 10 o' clock in the morning, 9 o' clock in the morning, I paused and I realized I needed a good laugh. So I called my best friend. I needed to eat, so I ate something well. And I just allow my day to start gently. And sometimes when our check engine light is on and that could be low mood, just apathy, it could be irritability, it's a sign that we need to pull into a maintenance shop and get checked out.

I hope you follow my analogy, Doreen and Dr. John S. John, that we have to listen to our bodies and also listen to our moods because it's connected to our mental health. And so I. I have a. A really cool spreadsheet and formula that I just wanted to share with you. I'll make a post. If you wake up and your mood is elevated and you want 10, it's like that really good day, you got good vibes. And then sometimes you may wake up and your vibe may be a little low, little, a little mellow, not as hype or intense, but you still want to maintain your good health, your good mental health patterns, your self care.

I have a really good tool that I share with you, but I just want to give you a formula. So this month is all about formulas. Okay? And so here, as I mentioned, we incorporate our faith. So I want to give you a formula. All right? The formula is soaking plus God equals peace. Soaking plus God equals peace. I know you like what is soaking, Rachel. Hello, K. Dalen. If I'm saying that right. What's up? What's up? What's up? Soaking. So when we think about soaking, we are thinking about someone that is immersed in water, right?

Sometimes we may soak some dirty clothes so that stain can come out. Well, what I mean is it's about meditation. It's about allowing yourself to be still. It's about allowing yourself to rest. It's allowing yourself to incorporate your faith in a very divine and purposeful moment of not rushing, not hustling. Hey. And allow yourself to find a place of peace. Peace is not always the absence of chaos. It's about learning how to calm in a storm. Okay? So soaking is literally us soaking. It's Allowing us to meditate, slow down into rest.

Now, you can do this literally. You can soak in a hot tub or in a warm bath with some essential oils and invite your faith, invite your God in for a moment of peace. Or you can intentionally allow yourself to listen to some music on YouTube. I'm gonna send y' all, I'm gonna hook y' all up today. I'm gonna see y' all, I'm gonna send y' all my, my cheat sheet if your mood is high or low. And I'm gonna send you a link to some. And again, this is a Christian based segment, so it is worshiping God and allowing him to come in just to fill you back up.

Because our bodies tell us when we are low. Our bodies tell us when we're high. Our body alerts us when we're overwhelmed. And listen. We have to listen. That's simply the message today, y' all. If your check engine light is on, find a moment where you can drive into the maintenance shop. In the maintenance shop. And the formula today is soaking plus God equals peace. Does not mean it's the absence of chaos or it's the absence of something bad. Is learning how to be calm in the middle of things or a storm or a struggle.

But it's allowing you to have space where you can just reset. So soak today. You can soak in God's word, You can soak on scriptures. You can soak literally in a soothing shower or, or bath. You can soak in silence. You can soak listen in your car before you get on the next call. You can take time out to. So if this makes sense to you, if you understand, if you can relate, if you need a moment of soaking and entering God into your faith and your walk in this day so you can have peace, drop a heart so I know that you're with me.

All right, Good people check in today. Listen to your body, give it what it needs. And as you do, purposefully reset, purposefully be in tune, purposefully pull up into the maintenance shop so you can get checked out. So because you don't want to drive in your car break down, you don't want to be out here on this highway and your engine go out. We don't need you at work crashing, as these kids say, crashing out. We don't need that. We need you to be well. So you be well. Your car is well and well maintenance because you intentionally take it in for a tune up.

You intentionally take it in for oil change. So, so intentionally stop, refuel soak with God for peace. All right, good people, enjoy your Wednesday. I will see you next week. As we are, listen, tapping into a whole new level of formulas to help us win and thrive. All right. Continue to get to the root. All right, I need some theme music. What y' all think? Some theme music. Like, you know, after a show, they have like that. I need some theme music. All right, y' all take care. I'll see you next week.

Thank you for joining. Peace out.
