Be aware of your mouth and listen. Whatever your mouth can promote you or it can hurt you. First Peter, chapter three, verse ten. For whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
Hello country. Happy Wednesday. Let's connect as we listen to Forest Frank. This is one of my favorite artists. It's a new day, a new season and I am grateful for it.
This month we're going to get to the root of the words that we speak. Be aware of your mouth and listen. Whatever your mouth can promote you or it can hurt you. In this season we have to use our mouth for good.
First Peter, chapter three, verse ten. For whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Sometimes our self talk can be harmful to our lives. We have to be mindful of what we're putting in our atmosphere.
Hello country. How y'all doing? Happy Wednesday. Happy Wednesday. So good to be with you. Come on in. Let's connect as we listen to Forest Frank. A good day. This is one of my favorite artists. Hello Michelle. Welcome, welcome. We gonna have a good day today. It's 11 o'clock. It's a new day. It's a new season. We're gonna have a good day. How are you today? Let me know where you're from, Michelle. So as we are waiting just a few minutes for people to come in, my daughter and I, we want to go see Forest Frank, this artist at the concert.
It was so. Yes, come on in. Give me some heart. So I know you with me. It's a new day, a new season and I am grateful for it. It's a new day, it's a new season. Yes, I am grateful. It's a good day. I have a great topic for you for this month. A great topic. It's an interesting topic because in the counseling world or ram, we learned that whatever a man, however a person thinks, right. It shapes and impact their feelings and their mood and their reaction. So you know, here a kids root, we are combining faith and evidence based practices to produce healing, right?
And so I was thinking about God. What does your scripture say about our tongue, about the words that we speak? And if you are interested, I highly suggest that you do a Google search of scriptures based in the Bible about the tongue. And a lot of scriptures will come up, a lot of information will come up. And so that's what I want us to talk about today for the month of April is to be aware of your mouth. Be aware of your mouth. Be aware of your mouth and listen. We see in the media, on Facebook, on CNN, TikTok, Twitter, how our mouth can help us or hurt us, right?
Rather it's a mistake, maybe it was truthful. However, whatever your mouth can promote you or it can hurt you. And so this month as we're getting to the root, we're going to get to the root of the words that we speak. Because in this season we have to use our mouth for good. And that's what I want us to focus on. So I want to share with you a scripture. The scripture is the foundation. So let's read it. It's First Peter, chapter three, verse ten. And it reads, for whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let's think about this and let's break this down. Whoever desires to love life and See good days. We all desire this. We all desire to have prospering days. We all desire to have easy day, smooth days, days without stress, day without anxiety. We all long for our days to go as we plan, right? Like we write down our to do list and we want everything to kind of go as we desire. Now this scripture is a part of a larger story here. But I just want to share something that our words matter. It says let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let his tongue. Let him keep his tongue. Okay, so I'm breaking this down. What's up, Luke? Nice to see you. I want us to learn that it is important to be mindful of monitoring what we say. Listen, I have another great story or like proverb, right, that people can go to. So the book of proverbs has a lot of great, great things in there for you to, to meditate on. Because like in ancient days, like in China and Africa, they had like African proverbs, Chinese proverbs, they are like ways of life, like things you can live by so your life can be fruitful and prosperous, right?
Well here this is telling. It's like a proverb. Let him keep his tongue from evil. So what, let's talk about this. What does that mean? Sometimes our self talk can be evil. Sometimes our self talk can be hurtful and harmful. Sometimes our self talk, the way we even talk to ourselves can be very detrimental to our lives. And if we take time and be mindful and observant of the words we're speaking, we can make sure that our days are good, that we can see and have good days. It says keep your lips from speaking deceit, man.
That means we have to be mindful that we're not out here hating, that we, we're not out here cursing, cursing ourselves or cursing other people. We have to be mindful of what we're putting in our atmosphere. We cannot speak on lies. So what I mean by that is. So for instance, just learning and working with myself and doing a lot of self reflection. Sometimes I'm aware, especially in the past when I dealt with this was assuming versus looking at the facts. Let me break this down. So sometimes we can assume how people think about us.
We can assume how people feel or what's going to happen based off of our fears, based off of our insecurities. Whatever the case and reason,
