Steph Irwin is a mom of two children and her daughter is on the autism spectrum for work. She wants to share the message that you have got this and you're not alone in this caregiving journey. We are all here for one another.

  3. 1:47Sometimes your body tells you, hey, you need to slow down

This past week, y'all, I have been sick and I'm finally starting to feel better today. Let me know if you guys are ever guilty of caregiving for so many other people doing, taking care of. What else might bring you guys comfort?

  4. 4:17Find something that brings you comfort when you're not feeling your best

What do you guys do that brings you comfort when you're not feeling your best? Whether that be physically, mentally, emotionally curling up with a good book or watching movies that don't make me think. Try to incorporate that in to your day today and give yourself a little comfort.

Good morning, you guys. Hello, hello in the Cadre sphere. Happy caregiver Thursday to all of you who are listening. I hope you all are doing pretty well. And if you're not, I hope you can find some sort of peace today that gives you comfort. So today I have my morning. Y'all know I like my hug in a mug. I have my tea this morning and my cup that says, you've got this. So I just want to share that message to y'all today. Good morning, fruit. Just share the message that you guys, you have got this and you're not alone in this caregiving journey.

Good morning, Speak, Wonder. You're not alone and we are all here for one another. So I'm sharing that message with you too, because I knew I needed it today. And I know that some of you do too. Good morning, Jules. Good morning, Luke and Shannon. How are you guys? Good morning, Speak Wonder. For those of you who I have not met yet, I am Steph Irwin and I'm a mom of two children and my daughter is on the autism spectrum for work. I work with children with cancer and their families, running programs for them both inside the hospital as well as in the community.

So both of my children are neurodivergent. So we have some wild and wonderful times up here in the Irwin household. Oh, hello, Shannon. You're so sweet. So this past week, y'all, I have been sick and I'm finally starting to feel better today. So thankfully, raise your hand, y'all. Let me know if you guys are ever guilty of caregiving for so many other people doing, taking care of, whether, whether it be work or caring for your loved ones, that sometimes your body tells you, hey, you, you need to slow down.

And I think that's what happened to me this past week. So my body was giving me a sign because it knew I was busy the last month, all the month of October. Yes, yes, I know you guys are not alone. You are not alone. So I knew I needed to slow down. And when I started feeling under the weather, I knew I had to do something. So I do have some autoimmune conditions and I tend to get flare ups when I don't take care of myself. So I knew it was really important to do. So I took some days off work this week and I rested.

Yes, some days. It's an understatement. Yeah, that is. That is truth in the world of caregiving, for sure. I took some days off work. I rested. I had my chicken soup, my tea, rested, laid on the couch, watched some Movies while the kids were at school. And I knew I needed to do it. My laundry is not done. My house is a mess. But I knew I had to do it for myself. So I know that's not always, you know, possible, especially in the caregiving world when we have so many duties, but where can you allocate some of those duties?

So I had to have my husband help out a lot, a lot extra with the children at home and allocated some duties to my co worker. So that took a little bit off my plate. And I was able to rest when I could speak. Wonder. Yeah, I definitely have a scratchy frog in my throat, so hopefully, hopefully that'll go away soon. But I'm just glad to be feeling better. So. Yeah. What else might bring you guys comfort? Whether you've been sick physically or just emotionally down, what brings you guys comfort? Feel free to share.

All right, I'm. I'm gonna oust myself here, you guys. I brought out my pre lit Christmas tree the other day and set it up. And my husband came home from work and looked at me like I was crazy. But y'all, he knew what he was getting into when he married me, so there you go. And it. And it brings me comfort. So just having that beautifully lit tree in the living room was bringing me comfort, and it made me feel better. Mind, body, soul, all the things. So y'all share. What do you guys. What do you guys do that brings you comfort when you're not feeling your best?

Whether. Whether that be physically, mentally, emotionally curling up with a good book? Oh, yeah. Yeah, that is. That is comforting. Watching movies that don't make me think. Yeah, me too. Oh, hi, Stephanie. I like your name. Sewing. Yeah, that can be really therapeutic. I do. And I do like watching movies that don't make me think. That's probably why I turned on the. The Hallmark channel and just. Just chilled out. So I want you guys to do that today. Color. Oh, yeah. That's therapeutic too, y'all.

I want y'all to do that today. Find something that brings you some comfort and incorporate that in. Even if it's just just a couple minutes. Try to incorporate that in to your day today and give yourself a little comfort when you can and take care of yourself. Okay? Or else your body's going to tell you. All right, y'all. I hope you guys have a great Thursday.
