Hey folks, how you doing? My name's Nick the poet. Thank you for taking a walk with me today. You'll probably notice that I'm not actually walking, but I definitely encourage you to do so. I'm also using a teleprompter for the first time today, so please bear with me because I like to share different tools and tricks. com. It's a free teleprompter. So if you need to make a work presentation or do your own live stream, I think it's a great tool to check out. But yeah, I'm Nick the poet. Thanks for taking a walk with me today.

We got a really cool live stream coming at you here. We're going to dive into this thing called Buteyko Breathing, fasting, and then we're going to listen to some advice from experts like Gary V. Plus, we're going to tie it all together with a cool metaphor involving the band My Morning Jacket and even touch on the new Bob Dylan movie trailer. So we're also going to see how this all can apply to your work life and career. Let's get into it. But first, let's start with a poem. So this is a poem I wrote some time ago.

It goes, I admit it, I am afraid and always have been and that's okay. Look at all the things I've done anyways. Have you always been afraid too? Look at all you've been able to do. Being at ease with fear is a full-time career, but sometimes the gates swing open and hope is released as that fear is decreased. And for a moment, all is well and you have another story to tell. Speak Wonder, thank you for joining. Are you taking an actual walk? I'm glad you're out there walking. Just reading a little poem and now I'm going to get into some wellness stuff, some career stuff.

Now, just a side note, I did have AI help me write this. So I did a presentation last week on AI. I wonder if anyone has tried any of the AI tools that I talked about, like CapCut, like ChatGPT, that kind of thing. But anyways, I want to tell you about the power of Buteyko breathing. Now, keep in mind, I am not a breathing expert, so I am not a doctor. I'm not certified. So please Do your own research, consult your own doctor before trying any breathing techniques. But definitely Buteyko breathing is a game changer.

It was developed by Konstantin Buteyko and this technique focuses on nasal breathing. You're really supposed to breathe through your nose, not through your mouth. And it helps you cut down hyperventilation and boost your CO2 tolerance. And it's all about keeping it simple and effective. So here's a really simple Buteyko breathing exercise. So sit comfortably with your back straight. close your mouth and breathe gently through your nose. Take a small quiet breath in and a small quiet breath out. Hold your breath at the end of the exhale for a few seconds, then let go.

That's really it to get started, but please Google it, B-U-T-E-Y-K-O. It really works like magic. We actually all over breathe a lot, not all of us, but a lot of us over breathe. And so this little method can help you with stressful meetings, deadlines. It really is a game changer. I learned about it in this book called Breath by James Nestor that I've been reading. Highly recommend. breathing and learning about it and I'm really just kind of digging into it and it has been beneficial and I think it can definitely help us in our work life.

A lot. So next up we have the benefits of fasting. So I was reading another book all about fasting. And so it's not just about skipping meals, it's about giving your body a break so it can heal and recharge. Fasting can boost your metabolism, clear your mind and help you live longer. So whether you go for intermittent fasting or longer fasts, just listen to your body and do what feels right. And once again, I'm not a fasting expert, definitely consult your doctor or nutritionist before going for it.

But remember, like Gary V always says, the process is the prize. So I tried it like a 24 hour fast yesterday. I didn't really, I made it maybe 23 hours and I had a cookie in the morning, which they say you can do some. So anyways, I just was trying it out and I noticed some benefits from it for sure. So I really like the process. I like experimenting with different things and so fasting is something that I've been learning about lately. Definitely, give it a try if you're inclined. Next up, just some inspiration from the experts.

I mentioned Gary Vee, who I really like his business and just his whole way that he goes about life. And he says patience is really practical. Now, I'm not a very patient person, but. In wellness, I think this can mean understanding that getting healthy is a marathon. It's not a sprint. So you got to be patient and celebrate those small wins along the way. So this applies to your career too. Building a successful career takes time, effort, and a lot of patience. We make progress. We take one step forward.

Speak wonder, you do do intermittent fasting. OK, very, very cool. So yeah, I'm learning more about it. But jumping back in, I'm doing pretty good keeping up with my prompter here. com, so definitely check it out. But I wanna talk about this band, My Morning Jacket. I really like them. Their music is a mix of different styles. It creates something unique and powerful. And so think of your wellness journey like a My Morning Jacket album. Each practice, whether it's this Buteyko breathing and fasting that I'm talking about, or whatever you're working on is a different track, and you can combine them to create your own masterpiece.

On their own, really effective. But in combination, I think that's where the magic happens. So just like my morning jacket experiments with different sounds to create unique music, you can experiment with various wellness practices to find what works best for you. So embrace the variety and then let it all come together to make you a healthier and happier person. And the same goes for your career. Mix different skills, experiences, and approaches to create your unique path to success. I think that's where the magic happens as well.

It's the combination of different skills, ideas, and focuses coming together in a cohesive unit to make that progress. And it's not always perfect, that is for sure. So next up I want to talk about the new Bob Dylan movie trailer. I'm definitely a Bob Dylan fan, being a poet. And have you seen this new trailer? It looks great. And I think that Dylan's career is a testament to constantly evolving while staying true to your core. So you can apply that to your work life. Be open to change, keep learning, and stay authentic.

So your unique blended skills and experiences is what's going to set you apart. So thank you so much for joining me today. Remember that your wellness journey is your own unique mix. So embrace Buteyko breathing, explore fasting, and get inspired by advice from experts like Gary V. And like my morning jacket, let your wellness practices blend together into something amazing. Apply these practices to your work life, stay calm, be patient, and keep evolving like Bob Dylan or like yourself. I think it was he who said, all I can do is be me, whoever that is, which is one of the great Bob Dylan one-liners.

And I'd like to sign off with a poem of my own. And it goes like this. It's a Sunday poem. I've written a lot of poems on Sunday through the years. So there's many Sunday poems. This is one of them. It says, Peace is our destiny. Peace is our destiny. I tell my mind when it goes on the grind. Find rest with me. Find rest with me, sings the universe. There's no need to cower. The bee finds honey. The businessman finds money. We will all find peace, whether in 2024 or 3033 or 4044 or 5055, because peace is our destiny.

stay healthy, stay inspired, and keep pushing forward. Until next time, take care.
