"I'm a big morning person. I wake up early on purpose to do my, my whole morning routine in silence, " she says. Today she went to the beach and spent an hour just reading and writing in her journal. She hopes you have something fun planned or maybe even some time to relax.
It's so important to be a person of your word. I've had people say they were going to do something, be somewhere, and then not follow through on that. I want people to trust in me. I will be here again Wednesday at 830 Pacific standard.
Happy Saturday. So weird to be here on a Saturday. I don't know what I did, but I somehow, when I was scheduling my lives, put myself on for today. And it feels like it's been a long time since I've been here because I believe the last time I was in the app doing a live was not this past Monday, but the Monday before that. So it feels extra long, which is not normal at all. I'm usually here with you every Wednesday at 830 for the most part. So it is 830 now for me on the Pacific standard Time zone, California.
And I live about a mile and a half from the beach, and I'm a big morning person. I love the mornings. I wake up early on purpose to do my, my whole morning routine in silence, and I always love that time. And since the weather's stolen starting to. It's still overcast, but it's starting to get a little warmer in the temperatures. I just told my husband I need to go sit at the beach first thing and just soak it in, like, while it's still quiet out there. Because a lot of people, of course, travel here for the summer and it gets really crazy.
So I tend to kind of avoid going downtown or to the beach because it's just too crowded for me. So I thought if I'm up this early and can get down there, that would be such a time of peace and solitude. And so I did it today. I finally got myself out there, and I loved it. I spent probably an hour out there just reading and writing in my journal and just watching. And there were people out. There were people fishing kind of spread out from the distance. Fishing, surfing, running, walking. Few people starting to show up and set up.
And I just. I just love that. So anyhow, good start to my morning and day, and now I got to figure out how I'm going to spend the rest of my day. So I hope you have something fun planned or maybe even just some time to relax, if that's what you need. But I wanted to talk to you today about something that's kind of been nagging at me over the last few weeks, actually, because it's something that has occurred over the last few months, and I'm, like, about baffled. So it's this. I was going to pose it as a question, but I just.
Here, I'll just. I'm just going to say it. Say it how I say it. It's so important to be a person of your word. And actually, I've shared this before, that whenever I have a thought that I think I want to share, and it comes to me in some other form from some other source, then I know for sure something I need to get out and share. And over the last few months, I've had different people say they were going to do something, be somewhere, do something, show up in some way or another, and then not follow through on that.
And luckily, over the last, you know, few years, I've done enough work on myself to get to a place to not make it about me. I don't take it too personal. I just. I just kind of separate myself from that. But still, it is disappointing. It's a letdown. When somebody says they're going to do something or be somewhere, they commit to something, and then they just don't. It's just a letdown. And so I've had that happen to me a few different times, and I tend to turn those things around on me, like, well, I'm glad I'm not like that.
I want people to trust in me. I want people to be able to rely on me and know that when I say I'm gonna do something, I'm going to do it, unless there's a, you know, a valid excuse not to. But I'm pretty proud of the fact that I am a person of my word. I do keep my word. And I don't know if I just shared this, but I read it in the Bible. Matthew, chapter five, has a section on keeping your word. If you say yes, let your yes be a yes. If you say no, let your no be a no. It's just, for me, it's an integrity thing.
And again, I don't. I don't like to let people down. I don't like to have that reputation of being wishy washy or really not staying true to my word. There are people in my life who I now know. If they say they're going to do something or be somewhere, I kind of. I don't take that to heart because they've already built a reputation for themselves and a habit of saying one thing but doing another, and so it's not matching up, it's not aligning. And so I already. I already know better not to put all my trust or hope in them.
Following through. Hi, Katie. And I'm sorry my eyes are so bad. From a distance. Car jazz and then the number. Hey, guys. Good morning. Happy Saturday. So that's it. It's a very, you know, simple and straightforward kind of idea of just asking yourself, am I a person of my word? Am I somebody who, when I say I'm going to do something or be somewhere, can I be trusted? Can I be relied upon to follow through with that? And it's important. It's important, you know, I don't want to let other people down.
I don't want to build that reputation for myself at all again unless there are things that come up. And you can't always, you know, commit or follow through on what you commit to. But for the most part, it's who we are as people and I just want to be the person that you can trust and rely on. So anyway, it's just food for thought. I thought I would share that with you. And that's it, guys. So I hope you enjoy the rest of your Saturday and weekend and I will be here again Wednesday at my normal time, 830 Pacific standard.
So. All right, guys, I will see you soon. Bye.
