Pressure that burns a split, a family. Into puts people on streets. Ah, a good Bob, but a song that, uh, speaks a lot of truth, right? Pressure, uh, pressure does a lot of stuff to us. Good stuff, bad stuff. Um, all the real stuff and all the made up stuff as well. Um, pressure. Is, um, is a force in this world that impacts us, but the good news is we got CAD. Cadre right here. So when we feel that pressure, we can bop right into the cadre sphere. To find, um, some support, some support, some perspective.

Um, and the reminder that there's lots of ways to be well. Uh, I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here. I know the things I know, and I care about. You, uh, have you ever found and sometimes maybe it's in the. Times of the year that maybe. Are perceived to be a little bit lighter. Easier breezier. Right? There's a song called summer breeze. I've never heard the song. Spring breeze or winter breeze or. Or a fall breeze. Uh, cuz summer is the easy breezy season. Was season where we get some time, some longer days.

Some, some warmth and yet. Um, if you're like a lot of people. Sometimes times of the year, where you go, wow. I'm extra retired. Retired. And at the same time, I'm like stressy. Stressy why? Uh, so here's the wonderful thing about our nervous system. A couple of things. Uh, our nervous system doesn't have an opinion. Uh, meaning that our nervous system doesn't say something is good or something's bad. It's simp. Simply says, Hey, something is happening. Our nervous system lets us know that things are happening.

Um, and then we get to go ahead and, and go, okay. Oh, something's happen. Happening and you look around and you go look at all these puppies around me. Ah, they're playing on me. They're jumping on. Me good versus ah, there's a bear chasing me. Run or do whatever you're supposed to do when a bear's chasing you. Um, right. It's our response to our nervous system saying something's happening. Uh, that invites us to, um, to respond accordingly and hopefully. In what is best for our wellbeing? Um, so number one, our nervous system doesn't have an opinion.

I'll put these things together in a moment. Number two, um, what is normal for us? Um, is what is normal for us. Is what I mean? Our body gets used to the things that it experiences frequently. So if you are always busy and running and going and going and going and going. Uh, and then all of a sudden. There's not a lot going on. Um, your body, if it's used to being, going, going, going, going. Really struggle. It will stress. It'll go into. Something's wrong mode. When you have a lot of downtime.

You may be a person who has to work really hard. To honor. What rest, um, uh, feels like um, cuz rest may be really uncomfortable. So we put those two things together. Right. You look at, um, your nervous system going. Something's happening and that something happening may be. You are not busy. We wanted to let you know that. Cuz all of a sudden the cortisol's rising cuz something's off. Something's different. Because different from normal. And normal being what you normally experience. Is going to feel uncomfortable.

So there's these times a year where you may be going, huh? I feel ext retired and extra stressy at the same time and it may not feel great. What can you do in those moments? Um, third thing I often love saying is that rest is not the absence. Of of work. Um, often we go rest is like, oh, if I'm not doing something, I must. Be resting? No, actually. Um, one of the most nourishing ways to rest. Is to do, to do different. Um, you know, the world wants us to believe that. Um, having, um, you know, having activity all the time.

Um, is innately bad. Like that's sitting down and playing candy crush on your phone is innately bad. Um, uh, and sometimes absolutely. Another times, the number one thing that your brain may be needing. Is engagement in a way that you can find engagement. Maybe Andy MC. Nice to see you. My friend. Engagement may be going for the walk. Engagement may be reading the book. Engagement may be play in the candy crush. Engagement may be cleaning the house. Engagement may be running errands. Errands or putting lists on a whiteboard.

Right. Rest is not the absence of work. Rest is providing elements of your being that are. Constantly in a unilateral. One direction type of space of action. Some opportunity to do different. Um, so if you're in that place where you're tired, anxious, uh, one of the best things you can do perhaps. Is to consider something else to do. Um, uh, consider a way that you can experience life. Differently in this moment, like if it's summer. And you're having to run from here to there. Maybe it's, I'm gonna roll the window down.

Or I'm gonna put on my summer playlist. Or I'm going to grab an ice cream cone. Or I'm going to park my car at the gas station parking lot. And play candy crush for five minutes. With the window down and with the summer playlist on. And in doing so you'll provide yourself a nourishing rest. Restful break. From what is normal? Listen to when your body goes. Something's happening. Look around. Say what it is and consider what you can do to show that you are on your own side. Y'all pressure it's real.
