  1. 0:01Shannon shares a personal story about breathing at the end of a week

Shannon is part of the Cadre team. She lives with anxiety cptsd and is the caregiver for a child with autism. Taking a deep breath at the end of a week is good for all of our bodies.

  2. 2:58How did you treat your body this week and particularly relative to your mind

Paying attention to how our bodies feel really has an impact on our minds and our souls. One of the things I learned this week is that it's truly care can come in really little things. If you're going into the weekend feeling alone, you're not alone. You're part of Cadre.

Hello, Cadre s here. It is 8:24pm on Friday night and I'm going live version two. If any of you have been trying to tune in with me for the last few nights, you know that I'm having some tech stuff. I'm here to tell you it is 1. It is 99% user error. I'm working on it and so my hope is that this will be the last one. However, I want to join you tonight, especially because it's the end of a week. It's a Friday night. I am in my pajamas. I have all my makeup off. You probably do too. It's 8:24 Central Standard Time, and this is where I'm at at the end of a week.

And you are probably in a very similar place. For those of you who I have not met yet, my name is Shannon. I'm part of the Cadre team. I. I am a person who lives with anxiety cptsd and I am the caregiver for a child with autism. I am not a mental health professional and I'm not a clinician. And I show up at the end of the day on Cadre because my lived experience tells me that there are people who do not have others to end the day with. So not everyone out there has maybe a spouse or a family or community.

So. So maybe you are hearing this message when you are by yourself in your apartment. Maybe you are taking a break from work. Maybe you're an Uber driver and you are trying to just feel more connected and we want that for you. So it's Friday night, you guys. I'm taking a deep breath. I'm breathing out my week. How was your night? How was your day? How was your day? How was your week? I think I talk a lot about we're all going to have ones and we're all going to have tens when it comes to our days.

We're all going to have good weeks and bad weeks and inspiring weeks and not. And I am asking you, how was yours? Taking a deep breath because it's good for me. It's good for our bodies. If it's something you want to do at home when you watch this, you should. Breathing is very good for all of our bodies. That's what my therapist tells me. You know, I just want to share. I had a new kind of. I mentioned at the upfront, I live with cptsd, which means I live with some trauma in my body. And maybe some of you all out there do too.

Maybe it's not, you know, something that you are Plagued with day to day. Maybe it's something that you just, you know, you feel stressed from time to time. But I tried a new therapy today where I really paid attention to my body. And I did it with the oversight of my therapist, who I've had for eight years. Beautiful, Tracy. It was an interesting thing for me. I'm bringing it up now as we close our day because paying attention to how our bodies feel really has an impact on our minds and our souls.

And so I'm just thinking about as you reflect on your day and your week, how did you treat your body this week and particularly relative to your mind, right? Like, did you pay attention to the things your body was telling you when you were tired? Did you listen and give yourself rest when you were stressed? Did you stop and stretch? And honestly, most people don't, and it's hard to remember to do. And I just want to say that it's also a really thing, a really good thing that we all deserve. So one of the key tenets of Cadre is the belief in dignity.

Dignity when it comes to our mental health. And I think dignity, that definition, is treating ourselves with the care that we would others. And so while you know, it can even be care can be hard to do in so much as you have to remember to do it, you have to make time for it, right? All of those things. I think one of the things I learned this week is that it's truly care can come in really little things. It can come in really little moments like taking a stretch or taking a breath. I'm just reminding ourselves that our.

Our souls and our minds and everything is connected. So that's something I learned this week. So if you're watching this now or if you're watching it later, I just hope you know that you are seen wherever you are, if you had a great day or not a good day. If you are going into the weekend surrounded by people you love, or if you're going into this weekend feeling alone, you're not alone. You're part of Cadre. And that's what we're here for. So I could see no comments in this tonight. And that's all right.

Oh, hold on one second. Yes, honey? Yeah. Can we save the rest of the pizza for later? We. We can. Can we save it? Yes, baby. I love you. That was my son. So I'm going into the weekend with my son asking me if we could save pizza. And we can. Just so you know. But yeah, I just want you to know you're not alone. You're part of every part of this community that it exists. And we're glad to have you here. So I hope you had a good day. I hope you have a really fantastic night. I hope you sleep and your body rests and you take care of yourself and give yourself the care that you deserve.

Good night, everybody.
