Hey, guys, welcome to my live. I'm gonna wait a quick second to see if anybody's gonna join. Hope you guys are having a great day. All right, there we go. Hey, guys, my name's Alec. I am the app developer here at Cadre. It's great to see you again. Today I want to be talking about self care. Not just self care, but self care for busy people. Hey, Katie. I want to talk about self care for busy people, because not only is self care extremely important, but we're all busy. We're all extremely busy.

We all have jobs, we all have families, we all have friends to tend to, relationships to build. And self care is an important thing to living a happy life to. You know, last week, I talked about boundaries, setting boundaries, and how important those were. And this is kind of an addition to that. Self care is a conglomerate of different things, and today I put together ten specific self care tips for busy people. And, hey, Chris. I would love for you guys to drop in the chat. What are your favorite things to do for self care?

And I know everybody in this chat is busy, so specifically, anything that's self care. Your favorite self care tips and tricks to living a happy life. Number one, establishing a morning and nighttime routine. This one is so big for so many reasons. When I wake up in the morning and I have my routine set, it gets me into a good rhythm, and it sets me off for a really good day. Nighttime, same thing. Right before bed. I like to set my bedtime alarm for about ten. Sometime between ten and eleven, it kind of switches up.

But I do keep a similar routine. I try to stay away from my phone. Or if I do sit on my phone, I have my blue light blocker, the yellow screen on, or I turn on grayscale mode even, too, because sometimes some of that harmful blue light will come through, even the yellow display. So I try to stay away from my computer late at night, so I'm not boosting my cortisol. I'm getting into a relaxed state so that I can fall asleep naturally. I really, really, I value that a lot. And I think that that's a super helpful tip to getting good night's sleep, is setting those routines.

Hey, Josh. Hey, James. Hey, Nick. Yep, good sleep, so important. Good sleep is so important. And I'll touch on that in another one as well. Number two, I have create to do lists and prioritize those to do lists. So self care can be not just, like, for yourself, for taking care of yourself, like haircuts and makeup and all that kind of stuff. But it also has to do with your work as well because everything that's going through our minds all day long can stress us out. So getting those things out of your mind into a to do list for the next day so that you're not thinking about those things late at night can be super, super helpful for becoming less stressed, for becoming more focused for many things.

So setting those to do lists and prioritizing those things, it's actually so that you're getting your biggest, hardest things done earliest in the morning, but also prioritizing those quick things that you can do within five minutes. If you have a bunch of things on your to do list, try to get those, like those little annoying things that you know won't take long but you like, don't want to do it. Get those done first in the list. But right when you wake up in the morning doing your hardest type of work, not scrolling social media, but going for a lift at the gym can be really, really good for setting the day positively.

Number three, celebrate yourself for the smallest wins. When you wake up in the morning, scream yes, I'm alive. This is going to be an amazing day and you're going to have, you're going to set yourself off for a really great day. Celebrate yourself for crossing things off your to do list. Celebrate yourself for anything throughout the day. It can just be in your mind. You can say it out loud. I love crossing off things on my to do list. It makes me so, so happy and I feel so good. Katie says I play white noise at night and play candy crush in the morning.

I love that. For self care, I call Katie. That's right, Chris. Number four, I have use your PTo even for mental health days. Okay. If you have a job that gives you pto, do not let it go unused. I just heard a stat this morning that I think somewhere in the millions of days of PTo went unused this past year. Millions of days of paid time off. When unused, use this time to your advantage. Take the day off. Turn off your email, turn off your phone, maybe not your phone, but turn off your work stuff and really get into a day of time off relaxation.

You've earned it. You deserve it. So don't feel the need to have to reply to things even on those days off. Number five, ask for help and accept it when you, when it's offered. A lot of people are very prideful and they don't want to ask for help. They think that they can do things all on their own. I do that a lot. I try to do things all on my own. But recently I've been very more active in asking for help when I need it and also accepting the help when people offer it. Because people want to help and they want to see you succeed.

So take that help when it's being offered. Self care day. Yup, that's right. Brennan, number six, practice daily gratitude. Be thankful every single day. I thank God every day that I'm alive. I love to practice gratitude. I love to write in my journal when I have the time I need to do that more often. But practicing gratitude, just being thankful for the things that we have, for the food, the roof over our heads, for amazing devices that we have in our hands, the opportunities at work, our jobs, so many things to be grateful for.

So that can be a really good thing to help you with self care. Another one is prioritizing sleep. I talked about this a little bit, but this is like so, so, so important. Being able to get a good night's sleep, getting 8 hours of sleep every single night. If you're having trouble sleeping and you're waking up in the middle of the night, there's probably something going on you could be worried about, something you could need to journal, let those things out. You could need to meditate or maybe even see someone, like a chiropractor or a natural health practitioner or even your doctor.

So I highly recommend getting a good night's sleep. I like to take magnesium at night. If I'm working out, I'll take some glycine. There are other good supplements, elderberry. I try to stay away from melatonin. Too much melatonin kind of gets you into a bad rhythm. So that can help you set yourself to a good sleep schedule, but you want to wean off of it as quickly as possible. Number eight, rest when your body calls for it. This is one thing that we don't do in our society. We're hustling, we're grinding, always working.

Take the rest when you need it. Meditate, take a nap. I love to take naps when I can. Sometimes I take them too late at night and I'm up really late till, you know, one in the morning. But this is really important. If you can sleep for an hour in the middle of the day, sleep for 30 minutes, that can help you a lot. Number nine, becoming confident and comfortable saying no. This is from last week. This is a follow up from last week. Saying no, setting boundaries. Being comfortable, saying no. So important.

Number ten, seek out someone for help if you need it, if it's necessary, this is extremely important. We can't always do this alone by ourselves. If you need to reach out to somebody, if you need to ask for help, do it. This can be a therapist, this can be a coach. This can be like a Cadre coach. Reach out to somebody here on the platform or a doctor or somebody you trust, a family member. Always reach out for help. And we got some comments here. Katie says to me, self care is creating a life I don't want to escape from.

That's powerful. I love that. Katie. And Brennan says my daily morning routines help me stay grounded. Without it, I can't function. Brennan, I love your morning routines you showed me last time you were here in Minnesota. I love it. So here's my self care for busy people, guys, I will see you next time. Peace.
