So I am especially here for people who are in the HR community who in many respects carry a lot of weight on your shoulders. Where you have a safe space to go and to learn from others. My goal would be that you would walk away from this session and feel less alone.
Foreign. Hi everyone, I'm Carrie Heimer and I am so excited to meet all of you and be a part of this amazing Cadre community. I wanted to be a part of this HR community because I firmly believe everyone has a need to feel seen, heard and understood. And I want to be a part of that and hope and make you all feel that way. Here's a little bit about me. So I was the Chro for red Wing Shoe Company for 17 years and it was an amazing experience. And during my time at Red Wing Shoe Company I had the opportunity to talk to our employee base about my own lived experience with mental health.
Since I was 1112 years old, I had a battle with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues and it took me 11 years to get help and to seek treatment and I don't want that for anybody. And so my hope in having lived experience both with mental health issues as well as working in the hr field for 30 plus years, so that I can relate to what many of you are feeling and hopefully be a resource to help you navigate the messiness of life as fast as possible. Just a little bit about how I envision, at least right now, how each of these sessions will run.
I intend to let you in to who I am and what I stand for and probably get pretty vulnerable with you during these times, both about my personal experience as well as my professional experience. I imagine that we'll have a focused topic each time that I go live with some prompting questions to hopefully stimulate discussion and ideas between the group. And I also want to leave you with some takeaways. So if you want to go deeper and explore the explore the topics in a more extensive way, you have something to leave with.
Whether that's a a podcast that I listened to, a book that I read, or maybe it's just a devotional that I found particularly helpful in that day. So that's my goal. But I'm sure that I will learn. You will learn and will adapt as we go. So I am especially here for people who are in the HR community who in many respects carry a lot of weight on your shoulders. You know, for many of you, at times you might feel like the company counselor or therapist. You might feel like you're the culture curator and responsible for the culture.
You're the sounding word for so many people. You carry the weight of what other people are struggling and suffering with and you might not know where you have to go. And we all need a place to go and I hope to be a part of that for you. Where you have a safe space to go and to learn from others. And hopefully I can impart some things on you that will be helpful, because my goal would be that you would walk away from this session and feel less alone and be inspired to come back and be a part of the community.
Thank you so very much for tuning in and letting me share a little bit more about this HR community. I am so excited and honored actually to be on this journey with you. I hope you will tune in in the coming weeks and be a part of creating something really special and that we all feel less alone.
