  1. 0:00Christy Larson welcomes you to Cadre Sphere on Wednesday at noon

Hi Cadre Sphere. Come on in, join me. I am Christy Larson and I join you every Wednesday at this time. No mistakes, just happy accidents for anybody that needs to see that today. Happy lunchtime for most of us.

  2. 0:48Cadre theme this month focuses on rhythm in life

It is a bright and sunny day finally here in Minnesota. The theme for Cadre right now is about the rhythm in which you do things. I love the Cadre themes because they also get me some time to reflect and really think about some of the things in my life.

  3. 2:15Shannon owns Own youn Rhythm, a company that helps people design rhythms

Shannon: I was thinking about what rhythm, what pace do I want to, to go. She started off as an elementary school teacher and then ran a daycare center. Now she's in the tech space, and she says things don't move as quick. Shannon: That doesn't mean that that's a reflection on me.

  4. 5:46This theme has really just gotten me thinking about all of those things that I've done

The world as you are seeking seems to move very slow when you want it to move fast. If you ever need support in that space, I'm here to help. And so if you've been a job seeker, all the grace goes out to you.

  5. 7:03Next week we're going to talk about paying attention to yourself

Next week we're going to talk about paying attention to yourself. For me, this often comes with pausing, being present in moments. And really recognize those moments where maybe you just need to stop and slow down. You get to design that.

  6. 7:52Happy Wednesday, Cadre Sphere! Be well and own your rhythm

So great to be here with you all. Happy Wednesday. Be well and own your rhythm. Have a great rest of your Wednesday. See y'all soon.

Hi Cadre Sphere. Come on in, join me. Welcome. I got my Bob Ross sticker. No mistakes, just happy accidents for anybody that needs to see that today. Good afternoon. Happy lunchtime for most of us. Come on in. I am Christy Larson and I join you every Wednesday at this time and I encourage you to come bring your lunch, hang out with me, visit with me, throw, throw chats, chatter in the chat. But I am excited to be here. Hi Peabear. Welcome. Welcome. It is a bright and sunny day finally here in Minnesota.

We have had very, very gloomy, gloomy days. And so it's great to have the sun. I think it always does something for the soul for sure. I was actually just before I came on here, I was listening to Dr. Green talk about. And if you haven't watched Dr. Green's live stream, you certainly need to do it. But it was talking about life not being a sprint, life being a marathon, right? And that's kind of what the theme is for Cadre right now and really thinking about the rhythm in which you do things and you live and you go and you.

Whatever it might be. So I was thinking about that a little bit as I was kind of planning this, this discussion or this chat with you all and thinking about some of the things in my life that have like changed my rhythm in dramatic ways and really had to kind of recenter who I am and how I, how I do things and how I live and how I work and how I play and all of those things. And so it's it. I. I love the Cadre themes because they also get me some time to reflect and really think about some of the things in my life and hopefully they do the same for, for those of you that are here and really think about some of the things that are either great or not so great, right?

Or, or are going well or not going well. And give, give yourself some grace in some of the spaces that, that we all talk about and the themes and the. Whether they're monthly or weekly. And so anyway, I was thinking about today, Own youn Rhythm and really thinking about, you kind of get to design how, how you do the thing, right? You get to think about what rhythm, what pace do I want to, to go. And if you are a race runner, you want to go fast if you want to win the race, right? If you're not a race runner.

Hi, Shannon. If you're not a race runner, you maybe are the tortoise that goes very slow and steady, right? And you yet win the race. So thinking about some of Those things. And as I was thinking about those, I kind of got myself in this motion of, like, all the things that I've done, work related in my life. And I started off being an elementary school teacher, so I taught first and second grade. And let me tell you, completely different world. If you have not been a teacher for first and second graders before, it is a constant movement, right?

You are constantly going and doing things, and it is a. It's. It feels fast, right? And there really is not an opportunity for you to kind of like slow yourself down unless you very. It's the word I'm looking for. You are very aware of it. You are very present in the moment, and you kind of take a moment to do that. And I was no good at that. When I first started that job, like, I wanted to impress. I wanted to be the best of the best and wanted to make sure everybody knew what a great teacher I was.

And then after that, I went into running a daycare center. And let me tell you, that is not slowing down either. I was constantly on my feet. I was in the toddler room or the infant room or in the office trying to figure something out or whatever it might be, right? And it was kind of that. That same feel of go, go, go, go, go, go, go. And again, not wanting to, you know, make myself look bad or feel bad or, you know, I wanted to be the best of the best in that space. And shortly thereafter, that about 10 years later, I entered into the tech space.

And the tech space is a completely different world than being a teacher or running a daycare. I mean, all of a sudden I was at my computer, sitting down, laptop open in the chair, right? Doing the thing. And it really caused me a moment when I first started that, to really think about how fast I had been going for so long and how good it felt to not be doing that anymore, right? To be able to take a moment, to take that pause and to think about what is the rhythm I want to continue as I kind of move forward in my career and my life.

And I feel really blessed to have recognized that and to know that. And I think often, um, we come, you know, we come thinking that we have to. We have to move at the pace of others. We have to do the thing as fast as we can or as slow as we can or whatever that might be. And I am. I have learned very well in my new role that I'm in now that things don't move as quick, and that's okay. I might need to wait for a Response a little bit longer than what I'm used to in previous roles or in previous spaces of my life.

And that doesn't mean that that's a reflection on me. That means that other people are working at their own pace, and that's okay, right? Are doing things at their own pace. So it's. This theme has really just gotten me thinking about all of those things that I've done. And the. I kind of, like, missed this piece of it, but this is a big piece of it. So I had about seven months in between my old job and my new job that I just started, and I was job seeking. And you learn real quick that people are not as responsive as you want them to be when you're job seeking, if you've been a job seeker, if you know job seekers, they.

The. The world as you are seeking seems to move very slow when you want it to move fast. And that can be really hard for people, right? I know it was for me. I knew how great I was. I knew that I wanted to land an opportunity that was making an impact and doing cool things. And like, why are people responding to me, right. Really thinking about it in terms of. In terms of that. And so if you've been a job seeker, if you are a job seeker, all the grace goes out to you. I'm here for you. If you ever need support in that space, I'm here to help.

Because not only have I helped job seekers, but I've been a job seeker for a long period of time, longer than I wanted to be. And so I kind of have a good kind of understanding of that space and love helping seekers in that space, but that's neither here nor there. I kind of went on a little bit of a tangent, but just wanted you to know that I recognize that everyone moves at different paces. You get to design that depending on where you are in your life and really think about what does that design look like where you are, and it might shift and it might change.

Mine has a million times throughout my life, and that's okay, right? But really recognize and know that you get to design that. So next week we're going to talk about paying attention to yourself. And for me, this often comes with pausing, being present in moments. I've talked about that before. I'll talk about that again next week. But think about this. Do this right? And really recognize those moments where maybe you just need to stop and slow down a little bit, or maybe you just need to pick up the speed a little bit, right?

That's entirely up to you. You get to decide. You get to design that. So great to be here with you all. Happy Wednesday. Take care, Cadre Sphere. Be well and own your rhythm as much as you can. Have a great rest of your Wednesday. See y'. All.
