Chapters

  1. 0:00Introduction and framing

Host greets viewers, acknowledges their interest, and frames living your authentic or true self as a personal journey. She poses the core question of how to know if you are living authentically to set up the discussion.

  2. 0:37Inner reflection and purpose

This chapter guides listeners to look within, ask 'What do I want?' and notice innate insights about purpose. It emphasizes that many people already have inner wisdom and need to take day-to-day actions to follow that path.

  3. 1:13Practical small steps

The speaker offers easy examples like going for a morning walk or taking a class (photography, art, nature, or learning a skill) to start expressing your true self moment by moment. These small steps are presented as accessible ways to explore curiosity and align with what matters.

  4. 1:48Choose your circle wisely

Listeners are encouraged to spend time with people who inspire authenticity, since we are shaped by our environment and the top relationships we keep. The brief advice is to be selective about who you surround yourself with.

  5. 2:16Accept misalignment and learn

The speaker reassures viewers that doing things that don't align isn't wrong; such experiences help clarify who you are not and guide you toward who you are. She also notes how hard it can be to change long-standing patterns but frames this as part of finding balance.

  6. 2:59Start small and closing

Final encouragement to start with small, everyday shifts (even how you cook eggs) and to spend time with inspiring people. The host affirms that everyone deserves to live authentically, thanks viewers for tuning in, and signs off.

Hello, everyone, and Danielle Jochen here talking about living your true self, or also known as authentic self. And how do we know if we're living our authentic self or true self, being our true self? It's a really good question. And the first off is I just acknowledge you for tapping this video or wanting to listen more about what is my authentic self, or how do I live out my true self? And I like to say it is a journey to be on your, say a quest, to find your true self, to live it out. And how to do that, right?

It's like, well, how do I do that? Is really the journey within to look inside what matters to me? What do I want? And I can be like the biggest question on looking inward to self, listening to your heart and asking, What do I want? What is true for me? And a lot of times we get those insights, we get those inner knowings and we know them like it's our innate inner wisdom. We already have like our purpose, our path planned out for us. It's just, are we taking the action to follow it? Are we doing the day-to-day moments to live it out?

So it could be example like, okay, it's like I want to go for a walk in the morning, right? Something basic and simple. Go for a walk in the morning. Start to live out your true self, your authentic self moment by moment and start simple with a walk in the morning to, oh, there's a class I wanna take. It could be a photography class. It could be anything that just like strikes your curiosity of like, I want to do that. It could be an art class. It could be a nature class. It could be learning how to fix a car, right?

Or hang out with people. that inspire you to also like they're living their authentic self that mirrors what matters also to me. Hang around with people that are also living their authentic self or you're inspired by how they live and how they are being. Be around them because you are really a sum of your environment and a sum of the top five people you hang out the most. So choose wisely. And a lot of times we end up doing things that also don't align to our authentic self or our true self. And what do we do about that?

And there's nothing wrong or bad about that. It's just, okay, yeah, that is not me. A lot of times we do things too to help us understand who we are not, to help us more align to who we are, to live out your authentic self, to live out your truth. So it's just like balance, oh yeah, that's not me, or this is more me. And sometimes the biggest thing is when you can get stuck possibly in living a certain way where, oh my gosh, this is not me anymore. And it can be super hard maybe if you've been living it for x 10, 20, 30 years to shift.

So if S is you, being on the path, the quest, wanting to live out your authentic self, true self, start small. It could be how you even cook your eggs in the morning to going for a walk, hanging out with people that inspire you. because we all are worthy and deserving to live out our true authentic self. So I acknowledge you again for tuning into this video and I hope you get access to something. My name is Danielle and see you soon.
