  1. 0:09Rosie Nest speaks about her grief following the Minneapolis school shooting last week

Rosie Nest: My mental state right now is one of deep grief. We live a few blocks really down the road from Annunciation Catholic School, where there was a shooting last week. Something that I've been thinking about as we think about safety. September 1st is National Safety Month.

Okay, Cadre. I'm in the woods right now. Well, sort of. I'm at my husband's aunt and uncle's ranch in the middle of Wisconsin. Good to see you all. I'm having some morning coffee and honestly, I was just sitting and eating some breakfast with my daughter and just wanted to escape for a minute to their grounds and just have a moment with you all. So maybe, you know, maybe you don't know. I'm just going to do a quick round of intro of remind you who I am. My name is Rosie Nest. I talk about life, awesome layoffs.

And I'm located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. And I was would be really remiss if I didn't recognize and just call out that and let you all know kind of the mental state that I'm in right now, which is one of deep grief. We live a few blocks really down the road from Annunciation Catholic School, which is where there was a shooting last week and unfortunately have connections to victims and a lot of families who had children there. And so I'm just bringing all that into this conversation today and want to be honest about the fact that my own mental health in this moment has been challenged by all of that and the grief of it all and the weight of it all and the, you know, just acknowledgement that this really hurts.

This is really hard. This really hurts. And it's hard to know really how to move forward and what to do. High speak wonder. Thanks for being here. So I'm just telling you all that as where I'm at. Hi, Andy. Good to see you. So something that I've been thinking about as we think about safety and because it's September 1st and so that's really what the theme of the month is, safety. And I think it's ironic, you know, with the backdrop of my life and lived experience in this moment, being a Minneapolis resident, being a south Minneapolis resident, being someone who at least has been shaken, our community has been shaken.

So I, you know, before this last week, thinking about.
