Well, before I let you go, want to express again some gratitude for you and for this beautiful community we have. I'm so excited to continue sharing and listening to everyone's comments and contributions and so let's keep it going. Hope to see you next week.

Hello. Hello. Happy Friday, everyone. Or wherever, whatever day it is by the time you're watching this. My name is Bri. I am from Attaining Alignment, my wellness coaching company and really excited to dive into our topic today. Revolving around connection, connecting yourself with others and using love as liberation. Hello. Shoulder. Shoulder. Amar. Sorry if I'm saying that wrong or Amar, I know how to say your name. The Shaw Sharp. Wow. I'm having a hard time with words and thinking and speaking today.

But that being said, we want to dive into what connection means to you. And I often find in my own life that connecting myself to something greater, to myself or to somebody that I love or even to the earth, like just putting my feet on the ground, I immediately feel at least like 5% better. And so that's why today's topic was connect yourself to correct yourself. And so we have the capability of noticing when we're off kilter and then choosing to connect with something meaningful, whether that be a partner, family, friends, a project that you are really passionate about.

And it's so refreshing to get connected to something that fires us up and that feels really good inside. Right? And so I wanted to share that. And Amar, I shared this with you on Wednesday. That I suffered from depression for many, many years, was medicated, young and just. It was this roller coaster of trying to find the right thing, what would work, what would work, what would work. And I finally had a mentor that told me, you need to connect with, like, the world around you. You're only staying in your head and in the mental chatter.

And she suggested that I write a gratitude journal where you put everything you're grateful for and why. I'm sorry, a list of 10 things you're grateful for and why. And I wanted to showcase this to you because it was really. There's some coloring books in there. It was a really, like, fun time to go through and look at all the wonderful things. When I was done completing this, I did this for 365 days and 10 things I'm grateful for and why, literally. And then I started to get really, like, have fun colors.

And like, I just made it made it really cool for me. And it, it made me feel so much better. And it made me connect with really interesting things that I never thought I would connect with. Like, one day I wrote. I was just glancing at it this morning. One day I wrote, hey, Sarah. One day I wrote, I'm grateful for the wall because it helps protect me and keep me warm in the winter. Like, random stuff like that because sometimes you start Writing gratitude every day, you're just like, oh, man, like, what?

I can't think of anything today. Or I was in such, like, a terrible mood or just feeling really down. I came up with the most, like, random things because I just look at. I'd be like, oh, I'm so grateful for my kitchen chair so I can sit down and have a meal. Like, stuff like that. And then really feeling it. And so I started to connect with the world around me. I started to connect with what was really important to me. I started to connect with this feeling of gratitude. And I really was. I was really able to get myself out of that really low hole and eventually get off medication, which I.

I'm not a doctor. I don't tell anybody to. I don't. I'm not telling anybody to do that. I'm just telling you my story of that is how I was able to just help myself connect to. To creator or God in my case, whatever it might be for you. Follow that and honor that. But I really connected to what was important to me, and that was kind of like my catalyst of, like, seeing how green everything is in my life and noticing stuff around me instead of getting lost and swirled down in what was trying to take over on the inside.

And. And so I really recommend a gratitude journal to connect with that part of you that is grateful and content and happy. We're not always supposed to feel that, but it's great when it happens. And the other practice that I learned from this mentor was that connecting above is. Is. Is crucial. You're getting out of here to go up and back. And so it's a great practice to get out of my head and into something again, more meaningful, more. I'm trying to. I'm not really great with words today. I'm so sorry.

Something more that makes me feel more compassionate and free within myself. And Sarah says, when I take a shower, I always thank my feet for taking me where I need to go. Oh, beautiful. That's a perfect example. Yeah, I love that. And yeah, I agree with you too, Amar and Sarah, to your point, we can add these practices in anytime we want. Like, anytime that we are cooking, we can say, wow, I am so grateful. My arm can stir this soup, you know, and then you can even bless your food or all these little things.

Opening a door. Your. Hey, speak, wonder. Opening a door, you're just like, wow, I'm grateful for this fresh new day. Anything like that, to make it something bigger than us, connect with the whole world around us and kind of let Go of this pull inside that just wants to bring us down or up. Right. So I want to keep it short and simple today because it is a simple practice for me that has paid dividends. So. Hi, Nikki. I didn't even see you pop in. And so if you have ever kept a gratitude journal, I would love to hear what those.

What the effects have been for you because I still reference it sometimes, like in my Minnesotans in the midst of winter, I will still go through this and read it. And I can remember, like, oh, my goodness, I forgot I was, like doing this at that day or whatever. And it's just such a fun thing to, like, keep on hand and get me back into a good space when I'm not. And it allows me to free myself from my inner gunk. Right When I'm feeling down, when I'm getting low or spiraling, I always have that to go back to.

So I recommend that and of course, our practice to connect up out into space, connect down into earth, and connecting back into ourselves. So that's one of my favorite sayings is connect yourself to correct yourself. And if anybody has any other things that they do to kind of free themselves to. To come back into this moment or maybe just to kind of get out of the head, like, it gets chatty in there, you know, and so I'd love to hear some of that. And yeah, what a lovely way to come back to center.

Going to do that. Yeah. I. To add to that point, having a good mentor is critical because she gave me both of those tips and it literally changed my life. So I highly recommend seeking help Cadre. We have so many resources here, so many wonderful, so many wonderful coaches and contributors. So don't be afraid to just say hi and let us know. You can also book time with us too. But see say in the chat below something you're grateful for today and type it out and feel it in your body. I think it's important to take a moment to like, I am grateful that the sun is shining today, you know, or whatever it might be for you, and go with that feel into that.

Set yourself free through this act of love, through this act of. Of connecting with others. And yeah, a grounding or centering exercise is a great way to do that. You can also do it with your family, have your kids walk on the ground with you and ask them about the sky and get them thinking, let's wonder, right? Like, speak, wonder. Let's wonder rather than worry, right? And it's a practice. But I, I think gratitude goes A long way for anybody that has felt depressed. I know it has certainly worked for me and I hope that.

I hope that you give it a try. If it grateful for the wild birds at the feeder. Oh, yes, I know. I love to. To see that. Got a hummingbird feeder myself and I'm such a bird gal. But to. To wrap up this beautiful Friday. I'm grateful for all of you and I'm grateful for wonder nullifies worry. Yes, it does. And yeah, I'm grateful for everyone's comments and continue to put some gratitude in the chat and show me if you have a gratitude journal. Would love to see it. Mealtime practice. Before I start eating, Sarah says I.

Before I start eating, I express gratitude for all the hands that brought the food from the earth to my plate. It's a lot. Yes. Oh my gosh. Think about. Yes. The farmers and then transporting it and the drivers that do that and then the people that prep it, the people that pack. I mean, it is. Or just even going to the farmer's market, whatever. It's. There's a lot just for us to get food in our refrigerator. So that's. That's such a good one. I love that. And food is our nourishment. So that's another way to come back to ourselves is through eating, eating this food that we're so grateful for and feeling it in our bodies.

So that's a fun little tidbit. Love that, Sarah. Thank you. Well, before I let you go, want to express again some gratitude for you and for this beautiful community we have. I'm so excited to continue sharing and listening to everyone's comments and contributions and so let's keep it going. Hope to see you next week. In the meantime, have a fantastic rest of your Friday, a good weekend. Go do something that your future self will be grateful for. Thanks, everyone. Have a lovely day. Bye.
