    Why do we feel loneliness? The answer lies in our caveman ancestors. Loneliness is our body's drive telling us that we need to seek out human connection to survive. That evolutionary drive for connection has not gone away in the last 5,000 years.

Why do we feel loneliness? The answer lies in our caveman ancestors. Our body has developed biological drives to seek out the things that we need for survival. We feel hungry because we need to eat in order to live. We feel thirst when we haven't had enough water. We feel horniness because our species needs to procreate in order to survive. Loneliness is our body's drive telling us that we need to seek out human connection to survive. 9% of the span of human existence we needed those tribes people around us to watch our backs for saber toothed tigers to keep us alive.

That evolutionary drive for connection has not gone away in the last 5,000 years of us being civilized and living in villages and cities. Now why is this a problem? Check out part.
