Hello. My name is Danielle Jokonen and I am a yoga teacher, teacher, trainer, and creator of yoga yoga, a shaman and a life coach. And I am here to talk about how to get off your b*** and get to work out. A lot of times we can think tomorrow, I'm tired. We have x, y or z excuses not to do the thing that we know we want to do and how do we keep putting it off? Right. Procrastination. Stuck in our own limiting beliefs about I'm not worthy enough to feel good. A lot of times we really want to be stuck in stuckness.
We want to feel not good enough because we believe we're not good enough. So number one is to start changing your thoughts about that, that you deserve to feel good and you are worthy. Number two is just to get up and start, like, literally just do the thing it is. Starting with there is no other option. And that's what I started to do a lot. Example, I stopped eating fast food when I was in high school and I just said it's not an option. Especially say when we're going out of town and it's just not an option to go to a fast food spot.
And when it's not an option, you just don't do it. I just didn't do it. I either packed food or I went to a grocery store and found food at the grocery store that was better for me. So again, trying to get off your b*** and to actually work out, it's just not an option to sit down on the couch and watch the next show on Netflix, or it's not an option to do it tomorrow. So changing your thoughts, believing you are worthy to feel good and saying that it's not an option to do it later, it's not an option to sit on my b*** and watch Netflix.
Okay, starting to work out or give yourself just ten minutes. Okay, I'm going to start. I'm going to go for a walk for ten minutes, and if I feel better after ten minutes, I'll keep going. Actually, if I am tired and I need to rest after ten minutes, then I'll, you know, go home and rest. So, really listening to your body, a lot of times when you start doing the movement, you start feeling better. Actually, you get those good feeling endorphins and you realize you start feeling better and it becomes a new habit.
It takes time. It takes a good, you know, 21 to 40 days to create a new habit, to doing the thing to make you feel good. And once you start doing it, it becomes a lifestyle. It's like brushing your teeth. Once you start brushing your teeth, which you probably start when you're really young, right? You notice when you don't brush your teeth, you're like, oh, I didn't really brush my teeth today. I should go do that. If you didn't get a workout in or a movement in for a couple days, your body will tell you, like, oh, I really need to stretch, or I really need to move, or I really need to take a walk.
Whatever movement exercise you like to do, it becomes a habit that your body starts craving. So it's switching the craving of either sitting down and watching Netflix or getting up your b*** and going do an activity that will benefit your heart, mind, body, and soul. And there's nothing wrong with sitting down and watching tv. It just becomes a balance, right? Becomes that. Harmonizing what's best for you in the moment and doing the best thing that helps you become the best version of yourself. All right, so it might just be changing your thoughts, realizing it's just not an.
Not an option to say, I'll do it tomorrow. And give yourself ten minutes of a movement. Like, just start. Do something for ten minutes. If you actually need a rest, then take the rest. If you start feeling better, keep going and see what you get access to, too. Questions? Let me know. My name is Danielle. It's good to be here and have a blessed rest of your day.
