Okay, so, you guys, it is so important to write things down. Gotta open up the door for the dogs. Take a sip of coffee. Be right back. You guys can still hear me.

  4. 4:03Last week, I talked about the importance of writing things down

Last week, we talked about the importance of writing things down. What was I writing down this time two years ago? And what was I manifesting for myself? When you can open up your ears and listen to what other people might be doing to me, that opens up opportunity.

  5. 10:26Marissa met Jesse Itzler through his online mentorship program

Marissa Mayer: Who is your airport pickup story? Who do you deserve to be in the room with that you might be shying away from? Mayer: There's all of this underlying undertone of accomplishing a fear and getting to know somebody.

  6. 14:23You make things happen by thinking about it, by writing it, and by doing it

Do you guys have a person that you want to be in the room with? Think about that. And then find a way to get there. One text, one LinkedIn message, one cold pitch. I bet you still could get a good laugh out of trouble.

  7. 15:56GSD: Go out there and GSD. Go get it done

If there's somebody that you want to be in the room with or in the car with or on the phone with, write it down, put it on your checklist, and go get it done. There is gonna be a date that I will be traveling the first week of March that I won't be on on my normal Friday day. Thank you for always being here.

Good morning. Oh, my gosh. I'm a few minutes late because I didn't hit start live, you guys. How many. How many times have I done a Friday live? And today I forget to hit start live. I already, like, got into my live with you guys. Oh, my gosh. I get to start over. Amazing. Crushing it. Oh, my gosh. When do you ever get do overs on a live? Oh, my gosh. So happy Friday. We've got the dogs moving around. We've got a half consumed cup of coffee. Good morning, junk food junkie. Sorry to keep you guys waiting.

I was, like, right on time, talking to myself without pushing the button. Start live. Like, I think I've done it before but caught it at least within the first five minutes. Oh, my gosh. Nothing like a take, too. You don't get that a lot, you guys. I do live tv here on channel three, and it's live. Like, sometimes it's live, like, taped live. So we tape it like it's a live show. But you do have the opportunity to cut if somebody really messes up. But you have to go on like it's live. Like you're.

You're ready to go. So I just had, like, I just got, like, sweaty palms. Like I'm talking to no one. What's going on? And I'm like, why isn't anybody engaging with me? Where's all the love now I understand. You're all here. Here's all the love anyway. Come here. Come on. So we're gonna try to tame these dogs today, you guys. I want to talk to you about a two year anniversary that I have no doubt. No dogs, guys. Come on. We're on a live stream here. Let's go. So I have a two year anniversary, you guys.

This is real life. Okay, then I want to talk to you guys about. And it pertains to making my big dreams come true. It's a big dream that came true for me two years ago because I. I made it happen, and I want to take you guys through how I made that happen. What were the steps that I did to make it happen? And just, like, the coolness of it and in the spirit of last week's live, talking about how you should write everything down and how it really makes a difference and that you can look back at things and really kind of, like, see things happen and you have a reference point.

Like, that's, if you haven't seen my life from last week, go back and watch it so you really get the context of what I'm talking about, but this importance of writing things down so you can go back and, like, say, hey, I want to celebrate that win. That was huge. Or, oh, my gosh, that was a goal that I had two years ago, and I haven't completed it yet. Put it on the whiteboard. Put it on the list. Okay, so, you guys, I have my. My standard GSD. Okay? I'm not gonna swear on here, but the notebook will do it for you.

The GSD notebook that I swear by. If you are somebody who loves a checklist and you want to fill it in on your own terms, you don't want somebody to tell you what day it is already, what day of the year it is already. Take a break. Take a break. I like to fill it in. So this gives you just the line to put the date or the week of, and then it gives you blank checkboxes and blank lines. I mean, it's the most glorious checklist. But, you guys, I went back to two years ago, okay, the week of February 4.

You want to know what was going on that week? I know you do. I know you do. Okay, I'm going to tell you right now, and then I'm going to get into how I made this happen. Good morning, everybody. Good morning. Good morning, Elsie Wallace. Good morning, Luke. What is going on? Okay. Love the emojis. Okay, so, you guys, it is so important to write things down. I know we talked about this last week. I know that you guys already know how I feel about this. Okay, quick break. Gotta open up the door for the dogs.

Hold on. Take a sip of coffee. Be right back. Maybe 1 second. You guys can still hear me. Okay, I'm back, I'm back, I'm back. All right, so last week, I talked about the importance of writing things down. Okay. When I was thinking about what to talk to you guys about today, I was like, you know what? We're just gonna do a little sequel, okay, to last week, and we're gonna talk about what was I writing down this time two years ago? What was I manifesting for myself? And I'm gonna read this to you.

There are about ten things on this list for that week. What a failure. Okay, doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. I was, like, so inconsistent in 2022. 2023 with, like, actually writing things down. 2024. Like, look out. It's like, I have it written down in ten different places. But, okay, here's what I was manifesting and putting on my checklist two years ago. Ask Jesse if I can pick him up for the Ultraman I literally wrote it down just like that. You guys have probably heard this story, but for those of you who haven't, I'm gonna tell it to you.

Some of you may know who Jesse Itzler is. He is a friend of Luke and mine, and he's an ultra runner. He is an entrepreneur. He is a dad. He is a professional sports team owner. He is a speaker. He's a lot of things, okay? And he's a mentor. And he was a mentor to Luke and I in a program that we were in a couple of years ago, which is how we met. And he had mentioned on one of our webinars that he was coming to Arizona for the Ultraman. Okay, spoiler alert. And I heard Arizona. And of course, my ears perked up because that's where I live.

And immediately, I went into big dream mode, okay? When I am thinking about what my big dreams are and when I am in manifestation mode and when I am in that place where I'm like, okay, who do I need to get to? Or who do I need to help for them to see me? Who do I want in my circle? Who do I want my sphere. My ears stay really, really open, right? Because the more we listen and the more we take in, the more that we retain about what's going on with other people. The bigger our community gets, the bigger our brains get for ideas.

And the more, I think seen we end up being, the more we listen, right? If you're just busy talking over people and talking about all the things and you're not opening your ears and your heart and your mind for listening, feel like you are just setting yourself up for being in yourself, right? But, like, when you can open up your ears and listen to what other people might be doing to me, that opens up opportunity. So he mentions it on a webinar, and I start immediately thinking, like, how can I support him if he's going to be in my home state?

And I made a promise to myself, like, the minute I heard that, I was like, I'm gonna hang out with him. I'm gonna find a way. I'm gonna pick him up from the airport. I remember calling my sister and saying, you know what? Jesse Isler's coming to town and I wanna pick him up. She's like, okay. And I'm. And I really thought, like, you know, there's no way he's gonna say no to me. Like, I'm in his community. I'm gonna put myself out there. Like, I told myself, like, he's gonna say yes. And I started writing it down in my journal, like, grateful to be friends with Jesse Itzler, grateful to pick him up from the airport, grateful to hang out with him during Ultraman.

And I started manifesting. But it all started with this little checklist right here that was like, hey, just add it to the to do list. Big dream, no problem. Add it to the to do list, put a blank checkbox next to it, and then just wait to check it off. So I found a creative way to ask him, who's picking you up from the airport? And I slid into his dm's, and I voice noted him. I didn't just send him a message. I didn't find his email address. I didn't ask him in a comment in front of everybody in the world.

I wanted to keep this close to my heart, close to my chest, and to myself, and I wanted him to hear my voice and my enthusiasm and my ideas. So I voice noted him. And I have a screenshot of the exchange, and it was on February 4, 2022. And he said, deal, period. Let's circle back. Or he said, I don't have the screenshot in front of me, but he said, let's figure it out by the end of the month. Something like that. And I just remember getting that response from him and being so scared to send the voice note.

But I was like, you know what? You don't know if you don't ask. And I got that message back from him, and it was just like, it was that easy. It was that easy. I think it was at a time where people knew who he was, but he hadn't really, like, blown up to this level that he's at now. I think he's gained, like, 200,000 new followers since I first knew who he was. And when he told me, you know, that we would finalize at the end of the month, and I didn't hear back from him. I didn't just give up. Okay.

I think at that point, there are some people who might just give up and say, well, I haven't heard from him, so I'm just gonna let it go. But it's so cool that he got back to me. Oh, no. Not good enough for me. That's not how I operate. When you say, let's circle back at the end of the month, like, I'm circling back, you can do whatever you want, but, like, I'm circling back. Okay. I followed up with him in an email at the end of the month because I had had his email from a previous thing that I was gonna support his, one of his events that he was doing with some swag.

And so not only did I already have his email address before I even slid into the DM's, I could have emailed him, but I felt like, no, that's gonna get totally, totally lost in his emails. I'm sure he's getting a million emails a day. That's why I chose the DM route. But he said, you know, circle back at the end of the month. And when I didn't hear anything, it was like, okay, well, you know what? I better take the bull by the horns. If this is something that I want, I need to show him that I want it, and I'm going to build trust with him and show him that I do what I say I'm going to do.

Or if he says to do something or that he's going to do something, like, I'm going to jump in there and make sure that this happens. So anyway, all of that to say, I started to build a relationship with him. He gave me his cell phone number, and the day before he was flying in, we had a conversation on the phone, and we had never met in person before, only online through his program. And I apologize for the dogs, you guys. And the next day, I was at the private jet terminal picking him up with a trunk full of bananas and bottled water and fruit and a cooler that he could borrow for his race.

And I got to drop him off at registration. We had a crazy story about not finding registration, and I ended up with this really cool sweatshirt that he wanted to buy for me. But I secretly went out to my car and got my own debit card, which I didn't have a lot of money in the bank account at the time. I'm just gonna say that right now. I went back in and paid for the sweatshirt on my own, even though that he told me to pick out anything that I wanted. And he still doesn't know that I did that to this day.

And he doesn't ever have to know that. As far as he's concerned, he treated me to this sweatshirt because he wanted to, but, like, I really wanted to buy it for myself because I just didn't want to take advantage of the situation in any way, shape or form. And when the person who was checking me out was like, he's going to be upset that you grabbed your own credit card, I was like, it doesn't matter, I don't care. It'll be a story for later. Anyway, the point is, is now, today I have gotten to be in the room with him at multiple speeches that he has personally invited me to.

I've gone out to dinner with him. I have been able to pick him up from the airport a couple of times since then. And I have built a relationship with him and now know who he is on a personal level. And this is my challenge to you all of this, to say that two years ago, he was just on a checklist of mine on my to do list, somebody I thought that I might not ever be in the same room with, having a conversation with about my family life or my big dreams. And I made that happen. And I could have easily just sat there thinking about it.

But I went after it with no embarrassment, no fear, and no worry in the world about what the end result might be. And today I can say that it's checked off the list. But there's more to the story than that. There's all of this underlying undertone of accomplishing a fear and getting to know somebody and realizing that you are right in line with each other. They just have a bigger platform. And we put people on a pedestal and they're, and yes, they deserve that, that spotlight and that space. They've earned it.

Jesse's like, you know, older than me and has been through it and has exited five companies. And yeah, he has, like, financial success and a platform and a really famous wife and all of these things. But, like, what I realized when I got in the room with him was that, like, I deserve to be in the room with him. And I made that happen. So who is your Jesse Itzler? Who is your airport pickup story? And who do you deserve to be in the room with that you might be shying away from talking to because you think they're so much greater than you?

And he is a great guy. Don't get me wrong. That's not what I'm saying. But I'm a great girl and I work hard, too. And he has a quote that says, I'm a millionaire. I just haven't been paid yet. And I live by that. And I love it. I love so much of what he puts out there. I take a lot of it to heart, and I live by a lot of it. And it's like you're one step away from the person that you want to be in the car with, like that you want 30 minutes in the car with, not like some blind email that you might, that might never get opened.

So who is that person for you? I would love to know. In the chat, do you have a person that you want to get in the room with. Somebody on this chat might know that person, and they might be able to connect you. So. Hi, Marissa. Good morning. So, anyway, that's my story is, like, why I write things down, you guys. And why you should, too, is because they happen. And you make them happen by thinking about it, by writing it, and by doing it. Do you guys have a person that you want to be in the room with?

Think about that. You don't have to share it here, but if you want to, I'd love to see it. But I want you to ask yourself, like, are you meant for more? Yeah, you are. Who do you want to be in the room with? And then find a way to get there, because I can guarantee you right now, you're only, like, Kevin Bacon style. Like, one degree away or your one DM, your one phone call. And I say this all the time, one text message, one LinkedIn message, one cold pitch. I bet you still could get a good laugh out of trouble.

Oh, my gosh, you guys, the registration. Not only did we. Did he walk up to somebody's house thinking it was where registration was, in the middle of, like, a big family dinner with, like, kids and everything. But then when he came back out saying, like, we're in the wrong place. And then I thought I got. I was going to be responsible for Jesse Itzler missing. The ultraman. He gets back in the wrong car. There was another car that looked exactly like barn park next to us. He got back in the wrong car, and I had to, like, tap on the window and be like, wrong car.

So then we were, of course, laughing. I mean, it was hysterical. And we made it with just 1 hour left to register when registration had been going on, I think for like, two days. I mean, yeah, it was pretty classic. Anyway. Okay, you guys. Well, I won't keep you for too long. I was a little late jumping on here. We're going into 15 minutes, but I just want to say if there's somebody that you want to be in the room with or in the car with or on the phone with or whatever it may be, figure out who that person is, write it down, put it on your checklist, and go get it done.

GSD. We're just going to hold this up one more time just so you guys can be reminded. GSD. GSD. Go out there and GSD. And save your to do list from years past so you can see what you have accomplished and see how far you've come in a very short amount of time. So thank you guys for tuning in. I love you. See you here so soon. There is gonna be a date that I will be traveling the first week of March that I won't be on here on my normal Friday day, but you guys will know well in advance I think I'm gonna swap off with somebody that week, so have the best weekend.

Thank you for always being here. Junk food junkie. And the rest of you guys, I just appreciate you so much. Okay, happy weekend.
