Nick The Poet explores the vast world of creativity!
Nick the poet takes you for a walk. Maybe you want to walk around the block, walk around your kitchen. Regardless, I've got some fun things for you today.
So let's start with some affirmations. Every experience, whether challenging or joyful, contributes to my growth and understanding. I am fully present in the moment and I find peace and purpose in the now. Just keep in mind, these affirmations are aspirational.
Deep breathing or diaphragmatic breathing can reduce stress. It activates the rest and digest response, and it increases oxygen supply to the brain. But be careful because it can cause a little bit of lightheadedness. Consult your physician before trying any new health routines.
A thought I have for the day is corpe diem. It's important to plan for the future, but life is happening right now. How can you seize the day today? Now, it doesn't necessarily need to be a big action.
Hi, folks. How you doing? My name is Nick the poet. Thank you for taking a walk with me today. Maybe you want to walk around the block, walk around your kitchen. Maybe you're happy sitting right where you are. Regardless, I've got some fun things for you today. So let's start with some affirmations, some really simple affirmations. Every experience, whether challenging or joyful, contributes to my growth and understanding. Every experience, whether challenging or joyful, contributes to my growth and understanding.
I am fully present in the moment and I find peace and purpose in the now. I am fully present in the moment and I find peace and purpose in the now. Just keep in mind, these affirmations are aspirational. I don't think most of us are always finding that peace every single moment, but it's something that we can work at. I am worthy of happiness, success, simply because I exist. That's a good one. So if you're feeling gloomy today, here's Sarumi for you. Rumi was a persian poet from the 13th century.
And he said when you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy. And now I've got a health hack for you. Keep in mind, I'm not a doctor, so consult your physician before trying any new health routines. So this is deep breathing or diaphragmatic breathing. So this is slow, deep breaths in through the nose and expanding the diaphragm, not just the chest, and then exhaling slowly through the mouth or nose. So there's various techniques that you can do with this, like box breathing.
You can also do the four seven eight technique, which I really like. And that's inhale for four counts, hold for seven counts, and then exhale for eight counts. And this can reduce stress. It activates the rest and digest response, and it increases oxygen supply to the brain and helps mindfulness. I know we could all use more of that. I certainly can. But be careful because it can cause a little bit of lightheadedness. So you probably don't want to do this while driving. You want to do it somewhere safe, somewhere where you could be peaceful and relax and get into that peaceful state.
So, yeah, don't do that while driving, just while relaxing. So, yeah. A thought I have for the day is corpe diem. It's important to plan for the future, but life is happening right now. How can you seize the day today? Now, it doesn't necessarily need to be a big action. It could be just taking a walk. It could be, you know, phoning a friend or even just bringing a different energy to work. So those are a couple of things to think about. And then I have a work technique called the Pomodoro technique.
So this is a time management method where work is broken into 25 minutes intervals called pomodoros, followed by a five minute break. Hey, Luke, how you doing? I'm just talking about the Pomodoro technique. So this is where we work for a 25 minutes interval, then take a five minute break, and then after four pomodoros, you can take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes. And so this is a great technique if you're anyone like me, I'm very distractable with work. So if I can get into that flow for 25 minutes, take a short break.
That's the key. That's when I really get stuff done. So these are some different actions that you can take, you can bring into your day. And I am Nick, the poet. So I want to close with a very short poem. It says, I go down to the river. That's the healing place for me. I float down the stream and catch blackberries. So that's what I have for you today, folks, wishing you a lot of peace, positivity and prosperity while remembering that we all have a lot of work, but we're going to do it together.
Have an awesome day. Thanks for joining.
