Join me every week for real time anecdotes inspiring you to make your big dreams come true!
Good morning, Cadre family. I'm really happy to be back this week. A week without, like, doing this feels really inconsistent, especially when I've just been consistently going live on Fridays for the last almost year.
Lukewarm. I wore this for you. Marissa, this is a cool shirt. Hey, Luke, this shirt, I got it on poshmark, and they, like, made it into an elastic waistband. Now that I know a couple of my favorites are here and there's an audience, I can get started.
A set of clients have been struggling as a business partnership. They got emotional, and they both admitted the things that they maybe aren't doing well. I made them dig deep, and I was like, do you want coaching right now? And they said yes. They decided to go forward with the shoot.
Risa Dempsey helped a friend of hers who has severe ADHD with her closet. She also pitched a national anchor on a morning show rescue kit. If I am helping people, my dreams are coming true. I encourage you to help one person this week, every day.
Don't put a supplement in your body that isn't going to be good for you. What are you allowing into your life that is festering? Thank you for tuning in and happy, happy gratitude month of November. I hope you have an amazing weekend.
Good morning, Cadre family. It's been a minute. I didn't see you last week because I had a photo shoot, so I'm really happy to be back this week. Like, really happy. A week without, like, doing this feels really inconsistent, especially when I've just been consistently going live on Fridays for the last almost year. I think almost a year. It's probably been, like, eight or nine months of consistent Friday lives. So I've got my agenda here, like, always, and I just want to, like, share some anecdotes with you and then also share some things that, like, some ways that my dreams came true this week.
I wore this for you. Marissa, this is a cool shirt. This is vintage, and it was. Hey, Luke, this shirt, I got it on poshmark, and they, like, made it into, like, an elastic waistband. So it's, like, an oversized tee with an elastic waistband. And I was like, it was, like, $10, and it's so cute. Okay. I'm channeling my Carrie Bradshaw. Okay. Now that I know a couple of my favorites are here and there's an audience, I can get started. Okay. So talking about a few of the ways, some anecdotes of just the last, like, week or two and all the ways that my dreams came true, and I'm just gonna kind of, like, rip through them and then give you guys some little anecdotes about them.
Number one, I have a set of clients that they are in a business partnership, and they had some trade to use with me. So when I was working in the charity space with value theater, they did some part of the set design for us, and they did it as a donation, and I offered to trade them some styling in exchange, and they are cashing in on it. So we got them all scheduled. We had our first creative call. Then we had our second creative call, and. And something felt a little bit off. So I didn't think anything of it until I got a text from them saying that they needed to talk to me and that they just.
They had some things on their heart. So we had a call, and it was very emotional. They have really been struggling as a business partnership, and knowing that I'm in a business partnership with my sister, they felt comfortable enough that they could talk to me about it. Plus, they were like, we don't want to waste anybody's time. Yours, the photographers, makeup artists, like, all the things. We just feel like we should cancel this shoe. And the easy thing to do, because I wasn't getting paid for this shoe, and they're cashing in on this two years later, the easy thing for somebody to do would be to say, yeah, maybe that's a good idea.
If your business is not doing well, why are you doing a creative shoot to promote your brand and all these products that you created? That's the easy thing to do. Right. But of course, I don't operate like that. And I made them dig deep, and I was like, listen, do you want coaching right now? And they said yes. So that's the first thing. When you're having a conversation with people, you need to figure out if they want you to just listen, if they want your advice or if they're just telling you this because they are in a place where they really do need help.
And I have, this is the second time that they've told me about some issues that they've had. And since they said yes to the coaching, I dug deep. I asked all the questions. I asked them, have they been to therapy? I asked them how their communication style is. I asked them, do you want to fight for this business? Because you have easily one of the best business ideas that I've seen in this valley. You do the best work out of any of your competitors. I use them for multiple occasions, and you two are just a dynamic duo.
And so I asked all the questions, the hard ones, right? Like, yeah, no easy button here. I was like, you're not getting out of this this easily. They had just done, like, this full line of products, and I was like, you guys, like, think about what you're fighting for if you are. They both admitted, sorry, dog on the run down here. Shaky, shaky ring light. They got emotional, and they both admitted the things that they maybe aren't doing well. And I was like, you know, after a good hour of chatting and some advice from me and just some, like, deep thought process with them, I said, you know, why don't you think about it?
They said, we'll contact you tomorrow. They said, you know, let us think on it. So anyway, they texted me the next day and they were like, you know, thank you so much for your amazing advice. We're deciding to go forward with this shoot, which means they're going to fight for their partnership. And I just had, like, such a feel good moment because I feel like they really needed to hear that at the time. And they also probably hadn't had a third party or a mediator help them get through this really tough time.
Oh, the dog is ringing the bell, you guys. Anyway, oh, my gosh. He's like, let me out. Anyway, that was such a feel good moment. Number two, I helped a friend of mine who has severe adhd with her closet. And let me tell you, if you follow me on instagram and you saw these stories, her closet was a mess. Come here. It was so disastrous. And it's because she has severe ADHD and she cannot put things back. And she let it go too long. And I was in there for 5 hours and we made magic happen in her closet.
And when I do that for other people, when I'm able to help people, it is truly making my own dreams come true. Number three, I bought a coffee for a stranger behind me in the Starbucks line, and it happened to not be a stranger. And I had no idea that I knew this person. I've met her. One time I met her at a 40th birthday party. When I first met her, her strap was not working on her dress. I whipped out my rescue kit, fixed her strap, was like, hi, I'm Risa. Photographer captured a photo of it. That was the first and only time we met.
And then she happened to be the person behind me in the Starbucks line. I just about lost my mind. She knew it was me because I have rescue kit on my license plate. She dmed me on Instagram right after and it was the greatest thing ever. And so I encourage you to help one person this week, every day, however often you're able to do it. Luke, the credence of the third party is everything. Yes, I eat. Who is the person giving advice? Yeah, I couldn't agree with that more. You need a mediator. You can't expect to be able to like, be business owners, partners, parents, wives, you know, sisters, all the things.
And be able to solve your own problems. Hire the people around you and get people around you that can really help you get through these, these issues. I couldn't agree with you more. Number four, I pitched a national anchor on a morning show rescue kit and to do a fashion segment around preparedness and, you know, holiday preparedness national. She is a main producer or anchor on Good Morning America. Dempsey says hi, Dempsey. And she responded and said she's going to pitch it to the producers. This was just a DM exchange and we are connected through a client of mine.
She does not know me, but I introduced myself, told her what an amazing job she did on my client segment. Next thing you know, I was like, listen, like, this is what I do, you know, if you ever need some content for a segment. And she was like, I will pitch it. And it was as simple as that. Now, whether or not it actually happens. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I put myself out there. I offered her up a segment idea. She said she'll pitch it. I mean, if that isn't like, your dreams coming to fruition, whether or not it actually happens to get a response from somebody like that is just mind blowing to me.
So your one DM, phone call message, email, text away from. Look at this honey badger. Whatever it is that you're going after in your life. Number five, I decorated my tree. That was a huge win. I don't care if it's early, whatever, you guys, it looks amazing and it brings me joy. So decorate your tree if that's what you want to do. And if you celebrate Christmas, amazing. If you celebrate something else, also amazing. Decorate if you want to. Number six, I coached a really good friend who is also in a communication struggle right now.
And I am her accountability person. And I think, for me, you guys, I'm winning if I'm helping people, period. End of story. If I am helping people, my dreams are coming true. Number seven, I helped a bride who really did not have the budget for me. A planner brought me in, and I spent the whole day with her and solved problem after problem after problem after problem. And it was a lower budget wedding, and it made me feel really good to offer a super high end service to somebody that wouldn't otherwise be able to afford my services.
And it was the best full day away from my babies, like, doing my job and helping somebody that I've spent in a long time. And number eight, I helped a client of mine level up her photo shoot. She did not commit to hiring me a month in advance like I told her she needed to do. And then in the 11th hour, with only a week until her photo shoot, she was like, I need your help. Which happens all the time because people don't want to pay for my full service. And then when it comes down to the 11th hour, they need my help.
And of course, I'm always there for them. She ended up choosing her own wardrobe. I brought some extra pieces, and I took her photo shoot from zero to hero. I did. I'm sorry, I did. I'm just gonna say it. And it made a huge difference. Meanwhile, she. She has been going through a lot of grief in her life. She has recently lost her second parent. So she's lost both parents and is really struggling. And this time of year is really hard for her. So what I realized is it isn't always that they don't want to hire me or don't want to pay for me, but there's some debilitating things going on in their brain, in their heart, in their life that prevent them from just, like, pushing the book button or whatever it is.
So if you can be a light for somebody in a really hard time and just always understand that people aren't trying to make your life crazy by doing things in the 11th hour, they might just be hanging by a thread. And as a service provider, sometimes I feel really taken advantage of. And then if I take a step back and really think about the fact that, like, we're all doing the best that we can, it does put things in perspective for me. Luke, look at all these comments. Go get it. How can I help and, and mean it is making the world's, world's dreams come true.
Oh, my gosh. Yes. Love it. I love it, love it, love it. It's the best ever. Also, last little anecdote, you guys. I have been super struggling with, like, my skin just having this major attack, like, breakouts. Like, what is going on? It's finally starting to heal. And I could not figure out what the crux of this was like. What has changed? Is it age? Is it hormones? Is it just stress? Like, it just felt different than anything else I've experienced in terms of a breakout. And I realized I was taking this vitamin.
It's like a supplement to help with hair, skin, and nails. And I've been taking it for, like, eight months, seven or eight months. And I didn't notice nothing was happening until, like, two months ago. All of a sudden, my skin started to go crazy. But I, because nothing had happened up until that two, like, with two months left of taking it, I didn't think about that being a factor. I did not think about it because I was unaffected for so many months. Finally I realized this is the problem, and I stopped taking it, and my skin is finally starting to clear up.
But it was debilitating. Like, I did not want to go out in public. That's terrible. But I just didn't, I didn't want to leave my house. It made me not want to put makeup on, not want to get ready. It just was a mess. And I really, like, did some deep thinking about it, and I was like, what are we putting in our bodies, and what are we allowing into our life that is festering? I'm going to ask you that again. What are you allowing into your life that you don't notice right away? Maybe you think, oh, this could be a little dicey.
This could be a little risky, but I'm not sure. I don't know. And then all of a sudden it starts to come to a head. We still kind of ignore it, don't look for the signs and allow it to infiltrate our life, our skin, our body, whatever it is. What are you allowing in that is festering, causing a total corruption and that you need to exit out? I. I know that's a long shot to think about from like a supplement to a life lesson, but it was a great reminder that we have to pay close attention to our inputs.
And remember my acronym for inputs. If you've seen my prerecorded content on the Cadre app, ingest new positive, useful tools. You need to make sure that you're being super mindful of your inputs, whatever they are, whatever you're ingesting, whatever you're allowing into your brain, into your heart, into your physical space, really think about those things because they could be festering and they could corrupt your nice little world if you aren't super careful about those things that you allow in.
So that is my final lesson to you today, is don't put a supplement in your body that isn't going to be good for you. Really do the research, ask the professionals, really think about what you're allowing into your space, into your body, into your life that could potentially have long term damages or create a serious problem for you. And for me, that was the supplement. It was also alcohol, which I am now almost eleven months alcohol free. Celebrating that for myself and celebrating the freedom I have in my life.
So what are you hanging on to that isn't serving you? What are you putting into your body or letting into your space that is not serving you or that could cause a problem down the road? I ask you that it is inhibiting you from making your big dreams come true. Just saying, assess your situation. I love you guys. I hope you have an amazing weekend. I also love New York. Thank you for tuning in and happy, happy gratitude month of November. I know there's some just incredible people who have joined this app.
I'm so grateful to be a very teeny, tiny part of what the Cadre app is doing and creating in this community, in this world, in the wellness space. It is truly my honor. I am sad I won't be able to be at the wellness summit next week, but for all of those of you who are attending, please take a deep breath for me. Please have a sauna experience for me and a cold plunge for me and give all of my friends at Cadre a huge hug. I wish I could be there. It's just a tough time of year for me to get anywhere else.
And with this new puppy, this little honey badger, you see how crazy he is. But to all of those of you who are attending the wellness summit, good for you for investing in yourself. And I can't wait to see all the amazing content that comes out of it. And I love you guys. And I love you for putting you first, so have a great day.
