Good morning, Cadre family. I'm gonna give it a second here and let you guys hop on before I start this lovely Friday message for you. Come on up here. Up. Got a little friend here.

  2. 0:28Friday, October 20: Listen to your gut when making decisions

Friday, October 20. Where did October go? Where has 2023 gone? What is happening to this year? I want to talk about what happens when you don't listen to your gut. I have a roundabout story that leads us back to listening to your Gut.

  3. 1:15This conversation is about listening to your gut. And my particular human design is splenic

Marissa Mayer: This conversation is about listening to your gut. She says there are six different types of human design: manifestor, manifesting generator, and a few others. Mayer: Mine is splenic, meaning I operate through my intuition and my gut.

  4. 3:42My dog sitter canceled on me the night before I was scheduled to leave

The night before she was supposed to go to an event in Atlanta, her dog sitter canceled on her. She decided to spend more time with her new puppy. The silver lining? How can I see a silver lining and turn this around?

  5. 11:14I hope you guys take something from this message and apply it to your life

So with that, I hear that my dogs are starting to romp around and get crazy. There could be some barking in the very near future. So I hope you guys took something from this message and that you can apply it to your own life. Have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you here same time, same place next week.

Good morning, Cadre family. I'm gonna give it a second here and let you guys hop on before I start this lovely Friday message for you. Come on up here. Up. Got a little friend here. Got a couple little friends. Here it is. Friday, October 20. Where did October go? Where has 2023 gone? What is happening to this year? It's such a great reminder that time just keeps on ticking. Time just keeps on ticking. And how are you using it today? I want to talk about what happens when you don't listen to your gut.

And I have a roundabout sort of story I've got, you know, you guys, I always have my notes, so I don't miss anything. But I have a roundabout story that leads us back to listening to your gut and how important it is when you're making decisions. And I want to start by saying what sort of, like, spawned this whole conversation I want to have with you today was me being a little bit more interested in human design. And I don't know if you know anything about human design. I'm just starting to learn about it myself, so I'm not an expert.

But there's, I think, six different types of human design, I guess, categories manifestor, manifesting generator. Generator, and a few others. And I was randomly listening to a podcast on Melissa Wood health, and she had the founder of human design on the show, and she was describing what a manifesto is. And I've always sort of known I can manifest very powerfully. But when she started to describe a manifestor, it was like, oh, my gosh, this is me. And one of the most, I guess, like, eye opening descriptors for me of being a manifesto was like being able to make a decision, and how.

And my particular human design. When I did my chart, you do it by the time of birth that you. The time that you were born and the date of birth and your name and, of course, the location of your date of birth, place of birth. I haven't had enough coffee. So, anyway, one of the. It says, like, how you make a decision, and they tell you, like, what your decision making process is. And mine is splenic, meaning I operate through my intuition and my gut. So. Good morning, Marissa. And so this conversation I want to have with you today is about listening to your gut.

And this is what got me to that point, was, like, being more interested in human design, seeing how, when I did this chart, to figure out, like, I knew I was a manifesto, but I didn't know, like, what that meant. Learning more about it, my qualities as a human me in particular. And then seeing that I make my decisions from my gut, I was like, yes, I do. That couldn't be more right on. And now I want to talk to you about, like, what happened to me this week and how all along, if I would have just listened to my gut and made the decision that I wanted to make for me, I maybe wouldn't have lost out on something, but how I flipped the script and made it a little bit more of a dream as opposed to a disappointment.

So. And, you know, I've always talked to you guys about what happens when your dreams are derailed and how are we coming out of that? Because it can be a letdown, right? So I had this plan. Here's my story now. So now that you have the backstory, here's my plan. Or here's my story. I was planning to go to an event called Running man this week in Atlanta with my mentor, Jesse Itzler, and the all day running company community. And I knew for months that I wanted to go. I mean, since they announced it last year, I knew that it was on my plan to go.

I knew I wanted to maybe run another half marathon, ten k something. And without having an event that I utilize as the catalyst to putting it on my calendar, I won't just go and, like, run that. I won't put it on my schedule unless there's a specific event. I was going to see so many people from that community. I was going to get some bonding time with my favorite people, be amongst people who are dream chasers and goal setters. And I had this plan to go, and then I decided to get a new puppy. And I don't know about you guys, but, like, when you get a new dog or you have a baby, it is so hard to separate from that child.

And you start to, like, think about where your priorities lie and when they're in this, like, infant stage, you really just don't want to be away from them. I mean, this is me personally, I guess, but. But I'm sure a lot of people feel this way. And I started to have all this kind of, like, mom guilt, but I hadn't. And the other side of this is that I had all the plans to go. I had my flight to Atlanta, but I didn't book my ticket to this event until the week before the event. And it was not an inexpensive ticket.

It was a big investment for me anyway. And everything was all aligned and set up, and I had just had a big wedding here that I worked and was a part of this past weekend here in Phoenix. And then it was the night before I was supposed to leave, and my dog sitter canceled on me. m. And I was leaving literally in 12 hours. And it really broke my heart. A couple of reasons. Number one, I had a different dog sitter all lined up, and she was a little bit more expensive. And this other person that I ended up booking was really looking to, like, make some extra money.

She wasn't as expensive, and she loves my dogs, and she was going to stay in my home. So not only did I, like, have a first dog sitter lined up, but then I asked her, and she was fine with it in plenty of time, respectfully, to give this other girl an opportunity who is an aspiring model and who's really just trying to, like, make a name for herself and network. I'd already gotten her some modeling gigs and gone out on a limb for this girl and was now giving her even more work. And she's watched my dog multiple times, and then she cancels on me with 12 hours to go until my flight.

That's not enough time when you have a puppy to scramble and piece it together and feel good about leaving. I couldn't do it. People offered to help, my family offered to help, but it just felt like the universe is trying to tell me that I'm not supposed to go on this trip. And the downside of all of this was I wasn't going to get to be with my people. I wasn't going to go get to do something fun and put something hard on my calendar and achieve it. And I was going to lose out financially on a big chunk of money and losing any money or wasting any money right now, as a business owner, as a single dog parent in this economy, I don't want to do it.

I don't want to choicefully lose money. But I really sat with my feelings and sat with the disappointment and thought, how can I turn this around? How can I see a silver lining? The silver linings were getting to spend more time with my dogs. The fact that I have a motherly instinct as to what this puppy needs already, and there is a reason why I waited till the week before to buy that ticket and got a refundable flight ticket there. I knew in the back of my head, like, it's like, I wanted to go, but the universe was telling me, you're gonna.

You have a very busy month. I have had a ton of travel and a ton of responsibilities with my job. And there was just something in the universe and in my gut telling me, you are not supposed to be on this trip. So as a result, you know, instead of sitting in that sorrow, I chose to create some boundaries and not watch social media clips of everyone having a great time at this event. And I chose to sort of limit myself from what I was taking in and what I was missing out on. And I really embraced the time with my dogs.

And then I buckled down and made a list and said, okay, you're losing x amount of dollars. You need to make that money back. So I started connecting with my clients, and I moved a client that I had had scheduled for Sunday to yesterday. And interestingly enough, I made the exact amount of money yesterday that I lost on that ticket. And I just think the universe has an interesting way of showing you right where you're supposed to be and why. And I think the fact that I didn't listen to my gut put me in that situation where I experienced a little bit of a loss, or it was just kind of an eye opener.

Like, just because you want to be somewhere doesn't mean that you're supposed to be there. And there's always going to be another opportunity. And as much of a yes person as I am, I need to remember that, like, my nos can turn into a different yes. So the lesson in all of this is not to people. Please and really assess who you go out on a limb for and how much people pleasing you do and how much of, you know, I really think about how I really tried to give this girl an opportunity, and I thought I was doing her all these favors, and it wasn't serving me.

It was just a lot of, like, the people pleasing tendencies that I tend to have, like, give, give, give, give, give. Oh, and then you get burned. So you really need to assess, like, who you're going out on a limb for and why. And I think, like, knowing that your gut is the strongest tool that you have in your body, you just have to listen to it. So with that, I hear that my dogs are starting to romp around and get crazy. There could be some barking in the very near future. So I hope you guys took something from this message and that you can apply it to your own life in some way, shape, or form.

I love you all. Have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you here same time, same place next week. Bye.
