In this inspiring video, Dr. Carrie shares why embracing the mud will help you accomplish your goals.
Carey: Sometimes in life we get dirty and sometimes we have to go through a little bit of mud to see the view. He says whatever goal is in front of you, embrace it. Have fun. Laugh when you slide yourself full of mud. Keep going after that goal because the payoff is worth it.
Hey, Cadre. Family doctor Carey here I am out on a hike in San Diego, actually east of San Diego, in the mountains, and just wanted to share this message with you today. It's a little sloppy out with the snow melting and mud. And I came prepared with some really big winter boots and pants because I am covered in mud now that I'm sitting here at the summit. But I passed this handful of people on my way up the mountain that were wearing not the best shoes, shorts. And about half mile into the hike, they decided to turn around because they didn't want to get dirty.
And it was just such a reminder for me, such a life lesson to think, you know what? Sometimes in life we get dirty and sometimes we have to go through a little bit of mud to see the view. And I am so grateful that, one, I came prepared, but two, that I decided to keep going despite the mud, despite the sloppy mess, that my dog is now covered in complete mud and we're both just disgusting. But the view, the payoff is so worth it when you get to the end. So whatever goal is in front of you, whatever mountain is in front of you, if it's going to require getting a little bit dirty, getting a little bit muddy, embrace it.
Have fun. Laugh when you slide yourself full of mud all the way up your legs, laugh when you slip a little bit. And just keep climbing the mountain, keep going after that goal because the payoff is worth it. And I'll show you the view that I'm at right now. Take care. Bye.
