Today, I will share an insightful thought that you may apply in your personal and/or professional life.
All right. Sorry I'm late. Two minutes. Ugh. It kept crashing for me. Hopefully it doesn't crash for anybody else.
If you don't believe in yourself, it won't happen. Spend more time on yourself and muster up courage. Whatever it is that you are hoping for and believing for, you deserve to invest in yourself.
All right. Sorry I'm late. Two minutes. Ugh. It kept crashing for me. Hopefully it doesn't crash for anybody else. Well, it is Wednesday and I'm gonna share my thought for today with you. And it is this. I should probably give you a few moments to get in here, huh? Alright, let me just be patient here while I give everybody a chance to be alerted and get in here. I'm impatient. Let's start. All right, here's the thought. If you don't believe in yourself, it won't happen. And this is actually a theme for my life these days.
So in order to believe in yourself, there are a couple of things required of you and me. I have my notes here. If there's anything in life that you want to accomplish or achieve, or you want to make happen, you're gonna have to do something. You're responsible. We are responsible for creating our reality in our life. And so there's two things that I want to share with you. One of them is to spend more time on yourself. And that can be done in so many ways. I know for me, and I have an example in mind that I'm going to use for this, this thought that believing, if you don't believe in yourself, it won't happen.
Spending time on yourself for me, oh my gosh. You know, I consume so much. I'm always reading, I'm listening to a podcast, I'm networking, I'm trying to have meaningful conversations with other people and connecting with people on social media. And then there's the physical part, so we have our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual part. I can't possibly share everything I do because I do so much for myself. And the example that I'm thinking of to share with you for this whole believing in yourself thing is about a year ago now I decided to take on a new career as a copywriter.
And in order to be successful with that, I really had to believe in myself. It's something I had zero experience ever doing before. I didn't really know all of the, I don't know, insights about copywriting that I'm still learning a lot about, but I believed in my ability to do that as a career. And, you know, it's taken some time to build up, but I had to spend time, and I still do every day, just about. I watch a video, I try to learn and soak up whatever I can. I'm taking different workshops and webinars and things like that that will help me to be successful as a copywriter and all the other things that I do, too.
I do so many things. But I'm always feeding into myself and feeding into that belief that I can do this. I can achieve and accomplish whatever it is. So that's the first thing. And the point also I want to make about that is that you deserve it. You're worth it. Whatever it is that you are hoping for and believing for, you deserve to invest in yourself in order to make that a reality for you. So make sure you are prioritizing yourself and spending time on you. The second thing is, and I love this one, I talked about this on a recent live, is that you need to muster up courage.
And there's a quote I found in a book, or it was in a blog post, but it comes from a book originally by Benjamin Mee. The name of the book is we bought a zoo. And it says this. Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come out of it. And another example came to mind last week. I had to go to my uncle's memorial services, and he had a ton of people. I think there were close to 200 around that number there.
And I sat in the middle of the place. And when it came time for them to invite people to come up and speak, I knew so deeply inside of myself that I had things to share about him. Not for my own sake, well, partly, but to comfort my family. Because I know when my dad passed away, very few people came up to speak, and I understood why. There's another story to that. But I wanted to do this. And I remembered this quote that it took insane courage for me to get up. I was sitting in the middle of, and I had to just stand the.
Just standing up and making that walk up to the podium was so nerve wracking for me. But something great comes out of doing stuff like that, right? I got to share with my family, my loved ones, what their dad and their grandpa meant to me. That's comforting to them. And then for me, it's like, okay, I was able to do that once. I can do something similar to that again in the future, right? With hopefully a little less anxiety and wrecked nerves. But back to the copywriting example that I shared with you.
Mustering up courage. Just having independent consults can be pretty courageous. For me, those are not always the easiest, especially as a new copywriter. Something I'm doing, but I don't want to get too far off the track. From this whole point of believing in yourself. Otherwise view things just won't happen. I'm going back to those two points. Spending time on yourself, whatever that looks like to create those realities in your life, and then just constantly mustering up whatever courage necessary to get you closer to that thing.
And that's my message to you today. Hey, Alec. Hey, Joelle. Good to see you guys this morning. And that's what I have for you guys, so hopefully that helps. All these reminders are always helpful to me, so I like to share them with you, and I will see you guys again next week. Bye.
