JC explores the practice of enoughness, defining being already enough in the moment, invites the affirmation Right now I am with concrete small examples, and reflects on honoring what feels right during a workout class.
JC greets the audience, shares where he is filming from, and offers a warm, inclusive opening to set a relaxed tone for the talk.
JC defines 'enoughness' as recognizing you are already enough in this moment, explains how it's not complacency and contrasts it with constant striving, using examples to show how waiting for future achievements can lead to stagnation.
The host invites viewers to try the affirmation 'Right now I am' with or without additional words, and gives concrete, small examples of capabilities that qualify as 'enough'.
JC recounts attending a workout class and reflects on how expectations and instructor cues can pressure advancement, choosing instead to honor what feels right and enough for him.
JC closes by reaffirming the 'right now I am' stance, expresses hope for the viewer's day, and signs off until tomorrow.
Hey Cadre, how are we doing? It is Saturday from the Cub Foods parking lot. I hope you are doing well. If you're not doing well, that's okay. You're still probably going to do some pretty miraculous things today. You may not see the miracle and the miraculous, but the world will see it in you. You'll be the one who is creating the positivity or the mindful distraction or the one who's walking through the grocery store buying your mangoes when someone's like, gosh, it took everything I had in my body to make it to the grocery store today.
And I see that someone else is here too buying their mangoes. So no matter what, know that we're always glad that we're here. We're glad you're here. We know the things we know and we care about you. My name is JC. If we've never shared time and space together before, thank you for the opportunity to spend some time with you. I'm here every single darn day and cadre today. And I love talking about this idea of enoughness. Enoughness is the belief, the practice of affirming that you are already in this moment, indeed enough, that you don't need to become something else.
You don't have to grow. You don't have to work in order to be capable of doing something right now. It's not complacency. It's actually the opposite of complacency. Often this idea of striving for more and more and more is what makes you complacent. You go, well, once I accomplish this, then I can. So what do you do in the meantime? I'm not going to accomplish anything until that moment happens. I'm not going to be worthy until I cross that big finish line on race day. I'm not going to be giving myself the chocolate cupcake until after I get through this 30 day thing.
I'm not going to, I'm not going to. It's complacency. Enoughness says right now I am capable, I'm worthy of X. Maybe smaller, maybe less what you deem sexy or wonderful as the big thing in the future, but the beautiful thing is all of a sudden everything becomes beautiful and valuable and worthy and sexy because you go, right now I am. That's my invitation for you today. to say, right now I am. You don't even need to add a word after that. Right now I am, period. You can also go, right now I am going to go to the grocery store and buy some mangoes.
That's enough. Right now I am capable. That's a full sentence or it could be, right now I am capable of doing a push-up from my knees. Right now I am capable of putting my shoes on and taking the dog out in the backyard. Right now I am capable of turning on the television and watching a few episodes of Frasier. Right now I am. Finished that sentence a few times today. Because I'll tell you, I just got done with a little workout class. And sometimes it's hard for me to walk into a workout class because I'm never surprised when an instructor goes give me this or do this or here's the thing that you should do.
It's okay if you can't, but here's the thing you should do. Well, is it okay if I can't? Because you're sound really excited about me doing the the advancement thing and you're like, oh, it's okay to do the. Yeah, actually, I'm going to do what I'm feeling called to do. What I'm feeling is enough because guess what? that's some feel good sweat right there that's some feel good sweat right there and I'm ready for a Saturday not like woo but I'm like Saturday's happening because I am saying right now I am I hope you are too see you tomorrow
