Im Taking Social Media Detox except from Cadre 😉
Alex opens the lunchtime live, greets the Cadre audience, and shows what he's eating while setting a casual tone.
He explains he's taking a break from platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, will post mainly on Cadre for now, and shares that he and his wife are expecting a baby boy which requires him to be more present.
Alex discusses being overbooked, how a frenetic pace harmed his mental and physical health, and his intention to trim commitments and make gradual improvements to his pace.
He says he's trying daily lunchtime lives on Cadre, mentions his dog and routine, and notes that viewers enjoy the informal format of chatting while he eats.
Alex describes breaking large goals into smaller, time-based chunks (monthly, weekly, etc.) using examples like training for a marathon or preparing for an exam to show how small steps lead to big outcomes.
He challenges the Cadre community to try a short social-media detox, and explains he will batch content on weekends to regain mental bandwidth and reduce daily posting pressure.
Alex notes problems uploading videos so he'll prioritize going live, reiterates what's for lunch, and commits to scheduling daily lunchtime lives and brief morning meditations for viewers.
He closes the stream by sharing his channel handles, saying he'll be more active on Cadre, offering well-wishes, and signing off with a friendly goodbye.
All right, we're live, Cadre. Welcome to this lunchtime live. I've been doing these on my YouTube channel and they're very successful. Just another way to connect with y'all. I'm having my lunch right now. Got some chicken breasts and then there's these pre-cooked chicken breast packs that you can get. 24 grams of protein. So trying to have a healthy lunch and then got some Annie's pasta there. Not the healthiest, but hey. So I wanna start doing these lives on Cadre. I'm taking a social media detox from all my social media that I've been working on, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, et cetera.
And I just wanna post on here. That'll be my little rule for the rest of this week. I'm just doing it for the rest of this week so I can start batching content on weekends. 'Cause as I said in my live this morning, for those of you that were able to tune in, me and my wife are having a baby boy and I need to be incredibly present right now, both mentally, spiritually and physically. And in order to do that, I had to trim down some things out of my schedule, take some things out, remove some things, or just cut down on how much I was doing on all the, side hustles and what have you.
So, and I was doing way too much. And I was starting to kind of not implode, but just, when your brain is so heavy that you just, you don't, you get overwhelmed by the slightest stuff because you're just packed on way too much to your schedule. So when you do that, sometimes you got to take a moment, restock, look at your week, look at your months, be like, okay, I've got way too much on my plate. What can I remove or what can I lessen? What can I take down a notch? And a big thing I have a hard time with sometimes is pace.
And I know a lot of people can relate to that. Your pace, how quickly you get something done. Because I feel like for years I was like at a frenetic or frantic pace when I didn't need to be. And that takes a toll on your mental health and your physical health as well. So I'm learning from that. Trying to make improvements there. I know it's not going to be overnight, but first order of business is to eliminate what I can or lessen the amount of volume and certain things that I'm working on. Let's go and take a get the dog.
No, I'm experimenting with doing these lives daily, because I'm still getting used to the new format of like when people tune in and stuff. So, Pinot, Pinot the Pop. And like I said, lunchtime lives I've been doing on my YouTube channel, really successful. Because for whatever reason, people just love to sit and chit chat while I eat my lunch. So figured I'd try it on Cadre. But hope you guys are all having an awesome day. I did a live stream this morning about gathering, gathering all you can in moment to moment basis versus trying to do, you know, like looking at your big goal and trying to do all the activities and and all that surrounding your big goal, doing that, but reverse engineering that in small chunks, right?
So I gave the example of running 1/2 marathon, a full marathon, preparing for a big exam. You take your big goal and you reverse engineer it backwards. And then you turn it into small goals, chunked out over time, monthly, weekly, bi-weekly, yearly, bi-monthly. quarterly, et cetera, et cetera. And it helps you to get closer and closer towards your big goal. You think big, but you start small. Yeah, I wanted to challenge you all in the Cadre Sphere, whether you're a contributor or not, or you're just a member of the Cadre Sphere.
to take a break from social media just for a few days. I'm doing it for myself because I need to because it's just been too much to come up with content every day versus doing it all on all within a couple days on the weekend and then scheduling it out for the week. I'd much, much rather do that. I used to do that, but then I'd still be on it every day. So I'm trying to re-strategize because I need the mental bandwidth back. Because the mental load was too much to be thinking about, oh, what am I going to post today?
You know, when am I going to engage with my audience and all that kind of stuff. And it can be a lot. So. But my goal is now with Cadre, try and schedule my lives as much as possible, but go live every day as much as possible. I've been having issues with my videos, uploading the videos. even when I've tried to upload the like put the title in and the caption and all that for some reason it just hasn't been working so I'll just go live for right now if I have to But again for lunch we're having Annie's pasta, some chicken with some sriracha sauce.
Super good. And this is literally what I do every day on YouTube. I'll post a lunchtime live and some of them will do really well and other ones just again a great great opportunity to connect. And I do have some leftover salad too. Let's see if anyone else tunes in. I'm just on my lunch break from work right now, so I will have to leave here in like 10 minutes. But I'll leave it there, Cadre fam. So each day I'm going to keep trying to do like a lunchtime live with you and like a morning, maybe a quick morning meditation or mindfulness just to get you motivated for the day.
I'm inspired. So hopefully you'll enjoy this live. set for my TikTok channel. And I'm going to be way more active on Cadre because I want to get back in the live streams and back to posting content for you that's valuable and then gain insight from. So maybe happy, maybe healthy, maybe at peace. Peace Cadre fam.
