Chapters

  1. 0:01Welcome and small talk

Christy opens with friendly greetings, names herself, and chats about her plants and a coffee meeting to warm up the audience. This short intro establishes a casual, human tone and connection with viewers.

  2. 1:04Why I love Cadre Sphere

Christy explains her appreciation for the Cadre Sphere as a space of real, imperfect human interactions—complete with dogs, rambling, and authenticity. She contrasts this human presence with more generated, less personal content.

  3. 2:17Introducing time to go

She introduces the topic 'time to go' and reflects on how much of life feels like constant rushing from one obligation to the next. The segment lists typical errands and activities that make people feel perpetually on the move.

  4. 2:57Reframe go as rest

Christy proposes flipping the narrative—using 'time to go' as an invitation to rest, read, walk, or otherwise practice self-care. She also recommends unplugging from social media and delaying responses when you need a pause.

  5. 4:11Self-care for job seekers

Drawing on experience with job seekers, Christy urges people to prioritize self-care over nonstop networking and tasks. She emphasizes taking breaks before sending emails, updating resumes, or continuing outreach to preserve energy and effectiveness.

  6. 4:54Pause and check in

Christy encourages viewers to literally drop their shoulders, take a deep breath, and check in with their body and emotions to decide whether they need a break. She stresses that rest can range from a minute to a week and that caring for yourself enables caring for others.

  7. 5:33Closing and farewell

She wraps up with warm goodbyes, mentions an upcoming coffee meeting, and reminds viewers to take care of themselves. The closing reinforces the episode's message and leaves viewers with an invitation to rest.

Hey, Cadre Sphere! Hello! Good to see you, good to be here. Hello, Christy Larson here. I was just in here admiring my, I think I showed you last week my leaf that was coming out of... Hello, Dan! those of you that stopped me last week I think I showed you my leaf that was coming out of my monstera but it's absolutely beautiful and it's absolutely massive um it's bigger than my basically bigger than my head so um I was in here admiring that while I was uh getting ready to talk with you all today so always fun to see uh things blooming and and new leaves sprouting out of um all the plants and all the the flowers that are that are happening right now.

So thanks for coming. Thanks for being here. I'm excited to see you all. I was blessed enough today to have coffee with Shannon from CADRE this morning and we were able to meet together and kind of talk humans. And we talked a lot about humans in many different spaces, but mainly I brought to her attention how much I love the CADRE sphere simply because it's humans being humans. And sometimes there's a dog barking, sometimes we drop our contributors. Sometimes we're rambling, sometimes we're fumbling, whatever it might be, but it's human.

And in a lot of places nowadays, you can't find a lot of human stuff. There's a lot more kind of that's generated than actual human stuff. So I love the Cadre Sphere for that reason, for many reasons, but for that reason today is my gratitude for the Cadre Sphere simply because it's humans being humans. Sometimes we look good and sometimes we don't. And guess what? It's okay because we're human and we all have those moments. And so if you are here in the cadre sphere and you are listening to contributors talk, whether it's live stream or whether it's recorded, know that we are humans, you are humans, we are all humans.

None of us are built on AI. I would have probably blonde hair if I was going to be an AI human, but I am excited to see you all. So my talk today is about time to go. And kind of the reason this came up was because there's always this time to go. We got to go. In today's world, it's always like, where are we going? We got to go run errands. We have to go pick something up. We have to go to soccer, we have to go to, you know, the piano lessons, whatever it might be, it's always time to go somewhere, it seems.

And I was thinking about it in terms of flipping that narrative and having it be more of time to go rest, or it's time to go relax, or it's time to go rejuvenate, right? Instead of this constant Hi, Shannon, I was just talking about you. Yeah, instead of this constant time to go to the next thing, maybe we have to consider it as time to go rest, time to go take a break, time to go sit, time to go read a book, time to go for a walk, time to do something for ourselves, some self-care, instead of this constant running around and always having to be somewhere at a certain time.

I find it... uniquely funny that sometimes we are same on social media, right? It's the time to hit the like button or it's time to respond to this e-mail or it's time to get back to this person and sometimes we just need to shut it off, right? Just shut it off, rest, relax, don't do it now. Rest, relax and take a moment for yourself and sometimes you don't know that you need that moment and sometimes if just a quick pause, a quick check in on your body and your emotions and drop your shoulders, take a deep breath, pause, think about how you are feeling in the moment that you are in.

And that can kind of create a space where, yeah, I do need a break, or I'm okay right now, I can go to that next thing and have enough energy. I've worked with a lot of job seekers and one thing I tell job seekers all the time is that, Sometimes we get in this like go, go, go, I got a job seeker, I got a network, I got to talk to this person. But sometimes we just need to take care of ourselves. We need to give ourselves some grace. We need to say it's okay if I take a moment, it's okay if I take some time for myself before I send that e-mail or before I respond to that thing or before I update that on my resume.

Sometimes I just need to take a break. Take some self-care and that might be an hour, that might be a minute, that might be a day, that might be a week, whatever that might be. we're no good to ourselves if we're not taking care of ourselves or we're no good to others if we're not taking care of ourselves. So that is kind of my time to go. I think just refreshing that in your brain of like, it's time to go rest. It's time to go take a break. It's time for me to go take a bath. It's time for me to go sit on the couch with absolute silence.

Whatever it is your time to go to take care of yourself, do it. Take some time for that today. And I really encourage you to sit down, take a moment, pause, drop your shoulders, take a deep breath, right and think about what do you need in that moment and it might be nothing and that's okay. Right? So focus on you. at some point if you could do it all day you are blessed you are lucky get after it do it but I'm excited to see you I'm always excited to see you I am Wednesdays come fast it seems every seven days come fast but I'm always excited when I have an opportunity to pop in and see you all so take care of yourselves cadre sphere be well and it's time for me to go to have coffee with a new connection you all have a great wonderful rest of your Wednesday and I will see you next week.
