Good morning and happy Wednesday, Kadra Sphere. I found a nice little window of no rain this morning. If you were to look at the map or the weather map, it's just a giant blob of green, but there's a little pocket of no rain and I'm sitting in it right now. I wanted to now today I wanted to do another like a stretching demonstration to really show you the like how I benefit from this modality called resistance, flexibility and strength training. It's still a little wet out here and I'm going to save it for a dry morning.

So we'll save it for next week. And I'm excited to like really unleash all that because the resistance, flexibility and strength training modality has been the greatest healing modality I've ever come across. But we'll get to that. And last week, what's up, Emily? How you doing? Last week I mentioned to you, I told a little story about my relationship with cannabis and how I'm taking a little break right now. Too much of anything is never a good thing, even if it's a good thing, right? Like you can't just drink 400 gallons of water a day and call it good.

So I try to have balance in my life in every way, shape and form. So I'm taking this break because I have a really big event that's coming up and I'm going to share that here. But I wanted to share something that I'm replacing cannabis with right now and that's a daily cold plunge first thing in the morning for mental clarity. There's different ways to utilize cold plunge and ice baths. throughout the day. And timing is everything, just like nutrition, which I plan to get into in another segment.

But I'm starting my day, I got a little wet hair here, starting my day with a cold plunge at 37 degrees. I've got a Marasco Forge cold plunge that is just the greatest thing in the world. And I use it every single day, multiple times. And putting this focus on starting my day with it has incredible benefits to my mental clarity. And I'm really grateful that I have the ability to add that into my routine. So it's been pretty nice. And I We'll use it later again throughout the day, before a workout.

I don't like to use it right after a muscle building workout because that's going to stymie the protein synthesis happening in my body and I don't want to do that. So you've got to be timely with your cold plunges. And I have an episode coming out of my YouTube program called Get Sweaty with Letty. featuring the doctor that created the Morasco Forge business, this guy Tom Seger, an incredibly smart guy. The episode that we did is arguably the most informative episode I've made to date on Get Sweaty with Letty.

It talks about everything cold plunge and I would share some of the benefits here, but I'm going to let Tom share that for you in our episode. So I'm doing this cold plunge because I'm I want to have total mental clarity as I put together an event that I am hosting with the one and only Cadre, and it's called Refresh. It is a wellness and movement festival taking place on Sunday, August 9th. So we're just under 5 weeks away, and I want to be just dialed in as much as I can because I want to knock this out of the park not only for you know the businesses involved but for all the people that are going to attend and I was going to lean into a little bit more of like the nutrition side of things today but yeah you guessed it Emily she shared a little dancing thing on there and and you know from previous cadre live streams that I love reading the paper.

And today as I'm reading the paper this morning, I've got this little article in here. It says experts say dancing is the best way to stay healthy in old age. Right? I like that. And I'll read a little blurb in here. Dancing is one of the most powerful activities for older people. So this article is geared a little bit more towards older people, but this dancing works for everybody. And I wanted to highlight dancing as a form of wellness when I created this event at Back Channel Brewing called Spring Park Awakening, which was a sunrise wellness and dance festival.

And now it has morphed into what's going to be a larger event in Minneapolis in North Loop, specifically North Loop Park called Refresh Wellness and Movement Festival. And that event is designed to provide anybody who's coming with just like a full roadmap to wellness. So a participant has the opportunity to engage in sound healing, breath work, yoga, mat pilates, a HIIT workout, and then that morphs into an entire dance party. featuring DJs coordinated by Dance Agenda, who is my partner in this endeavor.

So we're creating a community designed for connection, movement, overall well-being, and we're really excited about it. So in addition to engaging in those modalities at this event, you'll have the opportunity to visit numerous wellness vendors who are promoting their businesses, their goods, their services. You can engage with them, you can ask questions, you can try products, you can feel what an acupuncturist does. You're not going to get poked with needles, but they'll do some massaging and kind of explain the relation of the body to traditional Chinese medicine and why it's beneficial to do acupuncture.

So that's just one small thing. And there's going to be a number of people with cadre involved in this event that I'm really excited about. And we'll unveil that as we continue to drip out information related to the event. So in addition to the modalities, the dancing, the vendor village, we'll have a sauna sanctuary where There should be five to six saunas, some cold plunges, and you can just come in and out however you please throughout the entire event. And we'll also have a speaking tent featuring wellness experts talking about things from just wellness being hard to mindful consumption.

Shout out to Jen Varale, who I'm going to be at her sauna social tonight at Portal in Minneapolis if anybody else is going to be there. And yeah, the event is just a way to kind of break down that barrier that might intimidate somebody from trying a modality for the first time. It can be intimidating going into opening a door of an establishment that you've never been in before and then seeing people that you don't recognize. You might not be just totally one with yourself at that moment. You might be thinking about what other people are thinking about you.

And this event is designed to eliminate that. If you are curious about what a mat Pilates course is like, you don't need to go in there and be part of it. You can simply observe and check it out and nobody's going to be judging you for it. So it's going to be a really cool thing that doesn't stop with this one event on August 9th. We're gonna be teaming up with Cadre and creating events throughout the whole entire year. We're gonna blow this thing up into a weekly wellness extravaganza highlighting all that Minneapolis and Minnesota has to offer.

Luke's doing that right now, just walking around the state and he's up in Duluth and Duluth is in, or he was up in Duluth, I don't know where he's at right now, but that's an incredibly healing place that people need to seek out. There's no wonder why Duluth is a hotbed for people seeking the ability to live there, kind of protected from climate change, much like the state of Minnesota, even though we're experiencing quite the steamy week right now. And we want people to come and visit Nature Link and Brainerd, see what the Mayo Clinic has to offer.

The Masonic Children's Hospital is one of the world's leading children's hospital and it's right in Minneapolis. The University of Minnesota is one of the top research institutions. We have all the healthcare companies. Lifetime Fitness was here. Cadre is here, right? So I feel like it's my purpose to highlight all that Minnesota has to offer, bring in a amazing wellness individuals and businesses from around the world for just this collective experience that really paves the way for true well-being, community, connection, all of it, right?

So, and a lot of that just has to do with dancing. And I just, for me, dancing is such a great way to move, to feel your own body, to let loose. There's an organization in Minneapolis called Dance Church that is super cool to be a part of, doing a lot of ecstatic dance there where it's just move your body at free will. There's no structure to it. And I really like that. Recently, I was at a friend's bachelor party in Detroit the festival is called movement and it's all about dancing they really focus on you know what makes electronic music special and that's really the community and the dancing aspect of it and spent a whole weekend Nova Memorial weekend just dancing moving my body and you know it's incredible I realize how much I like to move my arms up and around and how good that makes my shoulders feel.

Because when you think about it, how often are you just moving your upper body? We're walking around a lot, but we're not necessarily moving our upper body as much. And for me, as someone who's lived really a lifetime of pain since I was 11, after being checked from behind in the boards head first, my upper body has really been rung through the ringer. So I like to move my shoulders. I like to move my body. I like to just shake it, right? And I'm really excited about this event. So stay tuned for more information about Refresh and how you can join or get involved.

Maybe you're not available to attend this first one on August 9th, but there's going to be more gatherings where we're focusing on connection, sauna, contrast therapy, movement, dancing, all of the things. And all of those things are key to our mental health. So yeah, I guess that's what I'm going to leave you here with this morning. I've got a lot of stuff in the works to continue to develop this event and put it all together. And it's just making my day. I'm having a little bit of a tough time sleeping because I'm so excited to get up and get going and put this build this community.

And I'm also excited to just help build this cadre community because I think that this is going to be the first time that cadre is getting out in front of the public in a like a non cadre specific gathering. So, you know, anybody out there in the cadre world like come out there and let's let's unite and let's grow cadre. Let's make it the preeminent platform for mental health that it deserves to be. And it starts with all of us, right? So I'm super grateful for this opportunity to help lead to help grow the community and to just be a harbinger for wellness moving forward.

So as you can kind of see by the paper here, it's starting to sprinkle on me. So that little gap in the storm has now shifted closer to Minneapolis. So if you're in Minneapolis, you might hit a dry spell. Whereas I'm out here in the Lake Minnetonka area and I got some rain to deal with. Yeah, if you're available tonight at the Sauna Social with Jen Varale, I'll be there. We can chat, we can sweat, we can do contrast therapy, we can laugh, we can cry if you want to, whatever you see fit. But in the meantime, I hope you all have a fantastic day and we'll talk to you very soon.

Cheers.
