On a scale 1 to 10, what's your week like? I think mine's. My energy is. And then with things happening in our communities of Minneapolis. Paying attention to what my body needs in the mix of all this is important to.
The theme of this week was paying attention. Paying attention to what your body needs can be really hard. What are things you're holding space for in this month or in this week that maybe have caused grief or is grief on a journey? I'd love to know.
So this is a short one tonight, but I just wanted to say hello, friends, I'm thinking of you. And have a wonderful rest of your week. Remember to pay attention. Bye.
Foreign. Hello, this is Rosie Nestingen. Good to see everybody. This is rest and reinvention and I talk about reminders to help you rest. I have been on a journey to rest after my own lived experience of facing burnout, recovering from brain surgery, and having to reinvent myself and my career a few different times. I also am the co founder of an organization called Rebloom Health. We support those navigating infertility, pregnancy loss and adoption journeys. And in all of that, in this exact moment of my life, of my world, I'm feeling like I need to rest now more than ever.
Hi, Michelle, thanks for joining. How's Everybody, like scale 1 to 10, what's your week like? I think mine's. If I'm being really honest with you, which I think this space is ripe for honesty and appreciates it, I'm. My energy is. And then with things happening in our communities of Minneapolis. And she's in sync for about 10 minutes. And she said, I'm coming to your house. We've gotta like, I've gotta give you a hug. We've gotta like be in community together. And as soon as she arrived, she said, I just realized how hungry I am.
I have not been taking care of myself because I've been doing all these things for my community. I haven't had any water today. It's now like noon. I think I've only had one cup of coffee. I'm starving. I think I need to use the restroom. She's like, I just need like 10 minutes to do a few things for myself. And I was like, yeah, that resonates. I think I'm on auto drive of. Just go, go, go, go, go. What can I do next? Who can I help? How can I dig in that paying attention to what my body needs in the mix of all this is important to, to keep going, to sustain, to rest so that you.
Really. It's a learning for me. So the other role that I have is that I am the director of programming for Cadre. And so as I was putting together our scheduling and some of the things that we might talk about in this new year, I'm always, you know, looking at that document that I put together. But when I was preparing for this time with you all today, I looked back on this week and where it had been slotted, you know, like a month and a half ago at this point, and the theme of this week was paying attention.
And I thought, wow, that means a lot more in this moment to me from like paying attention to my body and my needs. Paying attention to, like, my community and their needs. It just really resonated with me. And so I love when there are moments like that, which I'm sure everybody has experienced, where you maybe write something down on paper and it means a totally different thing a week or a month or a year later. I just think it's a cool way of the universe sort of telling you, like, you need this reminder right now.
This is not accidental. This is on purpose. And so here it is in front of your face. Friends, I'm at the loss for words in some ways because I've been trying to preserve my energy, preserve my soul in some ways. And so I'm. I'm at a loss for words because it seems like everything and anything I might say might not be as helpful to you in this moment because there are so many things going on. But here's what I. I will share with you and hopefully this reson and will lead you into the week. Paying attention can be hard.
Paying attention to what your body needs can be really hard. Paying attention to what your community needs can be really hard. Keeping your eyes wide open to those things can be hard work. I texted my husband this afternoon and said, I'm just tired. I wish there was an easy button. I wish that we were not going in and out of grief, Personal loss and grief, community experiences, experiences of our family and friends. And he said, yeah, I know we kind of need to create space for the grief so that there's also space for the joy.
And so I hope that whenever you come to this space, you know, know that. That I am always interested in holding space for grief, holding space for joy, and also recognizing that maybe the two are really close. Maybe they're not that far away from each other. Maybe they're a lot more connected and interconnected than we think. So what's one thing that maybe you're doing this week or this month that is sparking joy? Question one. Question two is, what are things you're holding space for in this month or in this week that maybe have caused grief or is grief on a journey?
I'd love to know. I'd love to know, and I'd love to continue conversations with you and conversations in the space for the grief and the joy and the rest and the reinvention. I think that's they're all really connected. So this is a short one tonight, but I just wanted to say hello, friends, I'm thinking of you. I'm rooting for you. And have a wonderful rest of your week. Remember to pay attention. Bye.
