Caregiving doesn’t pause just because the world feels heavy. Some days you’re holding grief, worry, and responsibility at the same time and still managing to get breakfast on the table. That counts. If today feels harder than usual, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re doing it honestly. What’s one small thing you did today that still counts as showing up?
There's been a lot of heavy news lately. Caregiving still expects us to function like everything's fine. What's one small thing that you did today that still counts is showing up. Some days, showing up is the win.
Quick reminder today, especially if you're a caregiver, because I live in Minneapolis, and there's been a lot of heavy news lately, the kind that makes the world feel really loud and certainly not very normal. And somehow caregiving still expects us to function like everything's fine, the kids still need breakfast, the meds still need to happen, and life doesn't hit pause just because the news is overwhelming. So if you're out here caregiving while also mentally processing the state of the world, I'm in the same boat.
We're not failing. We're not behind. We're just doing the hard things on hard days. And some days, showing up is the win. And yes, all of that counts. So what's one small thing that you did today that still counts is showing up.
