Hi everyone, I'm Ms. Shannon Paul. A variety of word related things like a comedian, a corporate speaker and a voice actor. But I'm here because I'm also the proud parent of an adorable 17 year old son who happens to have autism. And so I like to make sure that there is a space where we can have open and honest discussions and we can also share resources because my goal is to always have other parents who are in this journey possibly have slightly less windy road than I had. I remember when I first got my son's diagnosis over 10 years ago and how complicated the whole journey was for me and that I've been very fortunate over the years to be able to connect with the right people at the right time to get the answers that I need.
So right now it's important to be that person for as many people as possible. And being a part of Cadre is a way that I can actually use this platform as a megaphone instead of looking for you guys one coffee date at a time foreign. I'm also the founder of Comedy through the Chaos where we encourage you to find happiness in your moments as much as we get impacted by all of the negative things as well. And what I am not is a gatekeeper. So if I get a resource, I'll make sure to pass it on to you as well and you'll get the information in a variety of different ways.
You'll see videos from me, I always have posts from text posts, I have my live streams and you'll always be able to pop into a Q and A. I'm especially here for any parent who's had a complicated journey with their kid with autism. Also, if you are part of our autism community, I want you to know that you're not alone, that we are here to have this conversation along with you, and that we all have room to grow and find hope and actually find a community where nobody is going to look at us like we're the ones that don't fit in.
It is part of my continual gratitude practice to be a part of this community and to have a way that we can continue to support one another. Because now more than ever, it's really important to know that people are walking alongside you and that you're not going through all of this alone. So regardless of how you need the conversation to be communicated to you, you're going to be able to find that here.
