The hardest part is waiting for the bounce back. but the calm always comes. 💙 How do you talk yourself through the hard moments?
One of the hardest things about being a special needs parent is waiting for the bounce back. This morning was one of those mornings. He bounced back at school, which means I got to breathe, too. Hang on, the calm is coming.
I think one of the hardest things about being a special needs parent is waiting for the bounce back. You know, that little window of time before things calm down, when you're in the middle of those moments and somehow five minutes feels like five hours and you're just holding on to whatever emotional life preserver is nearby. So this morning was one of those mornings. I mean, my kid just woke up grumpy and the send off to school was rough, and time was doing that fast, slow, fast thing that it does.
And here's what I kept reminding myself. This will pass. And it did. He bounced back at school, which means I got to breathe, too. So if you're in that choppy part right now. Hang on, the calm is coming.
